I would like to thank Daphne, Dave and the committee for inviting me to judge at the clubs show once again this year. I do so enjoy the smaller specialist breed shows and this is no exception, it is a well run and very friendly show with top notch exhibits and the BIS line up was just sensational. Well done to everyone, I was pleased to be asked to select the best male adult and best female kitten. The kitten choice was an easy one as this kitten had stolen my heart in the open classes, she is a real star of the future Mabalakat Arizona, what a big name for a baby!! Very well done to her breeder and owner, she is Miss Purrsonality Plus. The Best Male Adult was a very handsome Silver Tabby & White lad called Ch Mainetrax Rock Star, I don t know about Rock Star but he certainly has Filmstar looks, what a handsome boy. Many congratulations to his owner and breeder. I was especially lucky to have two stewards working for with me today. Dawn Davies came especially to Steward for me, many thanks Dawn, for keeping me in line and all sorted out and Andrew Rainbow-Ockwell who came to second steward and did an excellent job too. AC CHAMPION MALE GRCC LAKES CH MAINETRAX ROCK STAR (64 41sw) (5.5.09) Very handsome and substantial lad with a lovely Maine Coon expression. Excellent type. Lovely breadth to his head with nice high cheekbones and excellent strong and square muzzle. Full and round eyes, so expressive and set and shaped just oblique. Very slight tarnishing to his muzzle. Shallow concave curve to his profile. Large and tall ears, set quite high on his head and with a lovely open setting. Well furnished and with good tufts. Strong chin with a fractionally overshot bite. Long body with very strong boning and excellent substance. Very substantial limbs and large paws. Coat a little short at present but nicely soft and silky with an obvious double coat and very well prepared. Long well furnished tail. Good Classic Silver tabby 1
& white coat pattern with reasonable definition, good spine line and oysters showing. Very pale silver tabby colouring. Lovely gentle lad. RES GR CC ALLENS CH ADATELO SOMERSISLE SUMO (64 31a) ( ) Another handsome Maine Coon lad of very good type. Medium length head, slightly longer than broad and with a strong square muzzle. Messy bit but all ok, deep chin, slightly protruding but good perpendicular line. Large, tall ears, slightly flared in setting but well furnished. Full and round eyes, set slightly oblique. Soft and woolly coat with a long and tapering tail, well furnished and well prepared. Good medium ruff and flowing coat. Excellent length to his strong and rectangular body, super strength to his boning with good body weight. Substantial limbs and large paws. Blue and white coat pattern with a little white moustache! Slightly nervous and unhappy today. BROWN / BLUE TABBY WITH WHITE KITTEN 14wks 5 mths 1 & BOB BLADES MABALAKAT ARIZONA (64 41w) Really exquisite kitten, she really stole my heart! Beautiful balanced type, so nice to see in such a young kitten with excellent definition to her head. Lovely moderate head, just slightly longer than broad. Super breadth to her top of head with lovely high cheekbones and super square muzzle. Lovely freckles to her muzzle. Lovely shallow concave curve to profile. Large and tall ears, very nicely tapering and with a lovely set, high on her head. Very well furnished and with excellent tufts. Brown tabby and high white, lovely warm brown tabby but with quite a solid spine line at present and coat pattern developing nicely. Long body with very good boning and body weight for her age. Super playful temperament, very well done to her owner & breeder, not a bad start to her show career. 2
BROWN / BLUE TABBY WITH WHITE KITTEN 6mths 8mths 1 DEANES ZYDECO TOP GUN (64 41w) ( ) Handsome young Maine Coon kitten with a lovely typical expression and excellent type. Medium length head just slightly longer than broad. Super high cheekbones and excellent square muzzle. Chin is just slightly sloping but has good width and a good perpendicular line. Level bite. Ears just fractionally wide set, but large and tapering, very well furnished with super tufts. Full and round eyes, very expressive and set slightly oblique but just a fraction deep. Very long and substantial body with very substantial limbs and very large paws. Very good coat pattern with excellent definition, super butterflies and oysters and all white parts sparkling. Long tail to balance with his body, very well furnished. Cold brown tabby and white coat pattern coat quality a little fine and kittenish at present, very well prepared, and just needing the length to develop. Very promising kitten who is growing well, lovely temperament. 2 DAVISONS CELTICOON PINBALL WIZARD (64 41w) ( ) Attractive Maine Coon lad of good type, with an excellent well developed coat for his age. Medium length head, slightly longer than broad, with good breadth to his top of head but still needing more definition to his cheekbones, strong square muzzle. Full and round eyes, very almost obloquy. Large and tall ears, very nicely tapered and set high on his head, little tufts. Shallow concave curve to profile, very slightly spread nose. Long body with very good boning and substance. Substantial limbs and strong paws. Long tail to balance with body, very well furnished. Excellent coat quality and texture especially for such a young cat. Lovely glossy top coat with super long guard hairs and with a definite double coat. Very well prepared and with good definition to his classic brown tabby pattern. Sweet young lad with a lovely temperament. B ROWN/BLUE TABBY WITHOUT WHITE NEUTER MALE 3
1PC CURTISS KATEMAZ SHANGO (64 41) ( ) Attractive young Maine Coon lad of nice type. Medium length head, slightly longer than broad. Good breadth to head but lacking in definition to his cheekbones, square muzzle. Chin could benefit from a stronger chin but nice perpendicular nasal line. Bite almost level. Quite large ears, nicely tapered and well furnished. Full and round eyes, shaped slightly oblique but a little deep set. Shallow concave curve to profile. Excellent coat quality and texture, soft and silky but would have benefited from a little more preparation. Long body with strong boning and good substance. Sweet lad who was a little nervous today. 2 COXALLS JINGLEBELLES CASSIDY KID (64 41) (2.4.08) Super lad of excellent type and looking truly magnificent today in his full coat. It is such a shame that he is undershot, this was confirmed by the Duty Vet. Lovely moderate head just longer than broad. Excellent breadth to head with lovely high cheekbones and an excellent strong and square muzzle. Lovely expressive eyes, full and round and set and shaped just slightly oblique. Large, tall, nicely tapering ears, very well set, high on his head. Firm chin and good perpendicular line. Long body, with excellent boning and substance, really muscular lad. Very substantial limbs and large well tufted paws. Lovely warm brown tabby coat pattern, soft and silky and with excellent preparation. FEMALE BOB HAYNES UK IMP GR PR DAIRYMAINE EMILY (64 20) (5.5.03) Beautiful mature Maine Coon female of excellent type. Medium length to head, just slightly longer than broad. Very substantial limbs and large paws. Long very well furnished tail. 4
Lovely soft and silky coat with a full ruff and shirtfront to complete the package, very well prepared and with lovely pattern definition, very strong spine line and lovely oysters to her flanks. Beautiful lady it is a shame that she was so upset and nervous in the pen, however, once she had calmed she was quite happy to be handled. SILVER TABBY SERIES WITHOUT WHITE NEUTER MALE BOB HOLDENS PR WISCASSETT LOOTAH (64 41ds) ( ) Mature lad who was a little cross today and couldn t be bothered to hold his ears up for us!! Good type. Broad head, strong cheekbones and good square muzzle. Slightly narrow but deep chin with a level bite and good perpendicular nasal line. Large ears, just fractionally wide set on his head. Full and round eyes, nicely set obliquely. Very long body with excellent boning and body weight. Substantial limbs and very large paws. Classic red silver tabby coat pattern, quite diffused pattern but soft and silky and well prepared, with a full coat and shirtfront. RED TABBY SERIES WITHOUT WHITE NEUTER MALE 1PC JONES LIONMAINE BRIGHT BRIGAND (64 41d0 ( ) Handsome and expressive lad of excellent type. Lovely moderate head, just longer than broad. Good breadth to head with super full cheekbones and excellent strong and square muzzle. Good chin and perpendicular nasal line. Level bite. Lovely shallow curve to profile. Excellent tall and tapered ears, nicely furnished and with good tufts. Round eyes, set obliquely but could be a fraction larger for perfection. Full coat with good texture to top coat, lovely glossy guard hairs, quite woolly undercoat which would have benefited from more preparation today. Long tail to balance with body, well furnished. Lovely gentle lad. 5
2 WILSONS CH ZYDECO ROBERT REDFURRED (64 19) ( ) Another handsome mature lad with a lovely gentle Maine Coon expression, it was very close between these two today, my first placed cat just had the edge in the balance to his head. Good breadth to head, just longer than broad, with strong cheekbones and lovely square muzzle. Good chin and perpendicular nasal line. Very messy bite, fractionally undershot and with quite inflamed gums. Full round eyes, very expressive and set and shaped slightly oblique. Large tapering ears, well furnished and with little tufts. Long body with very good boning and substance. Very substantial limbs and large paws. Long tail to balance, well furnished. Quite full coat with a medium ruff, red classic tabby coat pattern with good pattern definition and a lovely soft and silky top coat. Sweet temperament. FEMALE Beautiful class of quality exhibits. BOB RABEYS SUPREME UK & IMP GR PR DAIRYMAINE SARNIA CHERIE (64 41e) ( ) Very beautiful mature Maine Coon female of excellent type and prepared in style. Lovely moderate head slightly longer than broad. Excellent breadth to her head, strong cheekbones and an excellent square muzzle. Very expressive eyes, full, round and set and shaped slightly obliquely, I love her don t mess with me expression!. Large tall ears, nicely tapering but just very slightly flared on her head, very well furnished and with super ear tufts. Excellent long body with very substantial boning, long limbs and large paws, she is a little overweight even for her substantial frame, I suspect she is not fond of exercise these days! Lovely shallow curve to profile. Strong chin with a good perpendicular nasal line. Very soft and silky coat, with excellent double coat apparent, very flowing coat with a full ruff, shirtfront and breeches. Diffused tortie tabby pattern to her coat with rich tones mingling together throughout. Tail could be a fraction longer but very well furnished. Lovely gentle girl who handled really well, many congratulations to her owner and breeder on her success today. 6
1PC SWINBURNS WISCASSET VIRGINIA (64 41e) (2.6.07) Excellent young female, who was unlucky to come up against my BOB winner, I am sure she is one to watch for the future. Lovely breadth to head, Medium long and just slightly longer than broad, with strong cheekbones and a lovely square muzzle. Beautiful eyes, very expressive and full and round, but set and shaped just slightly obliquely. Excellent strength to her chin and super perpendicular nasal line. Level bite. Lovely soft and silky coat with a super texture and excellent preparation. Lovely medium ruff, shirtfront and breeches to compete the picture. Striking tortie tabby coat pattern with a lovely vibrant colouring and diffused pattern. Super temperament. 2 GRATIONS POPPYMEADOW AMBER (64 44e) ( ) Very attractive Maine Coon female of very good type. Medium length head, slightly longer than broad. Strong cheekbones and super strong and square muzzle. Excellent depth to chin and strong perpendicular nasal line. Level bite. Shallow curve to profile. Long body with good substance and boning. Strong limbs and large paws. Medium length coat, very soft and silky, with the mackerel tabby pattern almost completely diffused into her tortie colouring. Lovely flowing coat with a good ruff, well prepared. Long, flowing tail to balance with body. Lovely temperament. 3 BERGMANS EMPURRER TWILIGHT (64 41g) ( ) Nice Maine Coon female who was unfortunately very unhappy to be handled today and really did not show herself off to advantage. Medium length head with good breadth, just slightly longer than broad. Lacking in definition to her cheeks at the moment and with a reasonably strong muzzle. Good chin and level bite. Good 7
perpendicular nasal line. Shallow concave curve to profile. Large, tapering ears, nicely held high on her head and well furnished with cream edges to her ears. Long body with good body weight and boning for her age. Strong limbs and large round paws. Soft medium length coat, good medium ruff but would have benefited from a little more preparation today. Blue tortie tabby coat pattern diffused through the coat. Well furnished tail of good length. It s a shame she was so upset today, I do hope that she will settle down.
