My thanks for the invitation to judge once again at the GGCF of Ireland Supreme Show. To everyone concerned thank you for the excellent hospitality, my thanks to my stewards on the day, Em & Sasha both were excellent company & handled the exhibits well. Brown/Blue Tabby Series Maine Coon Champion Female; GR CH Not Awarded. 1 st BRINDLEY & SMITH S CH KATEZ ARANCIA SUSINA a Blue Mackerel Tabby, now this is where I have to eat a portion (a large one) of humble pie & whilst it doesn t taste good & ultimately it would have had made no difference to the result, it is only fair to come clean, in that throughout the report I kept referring to this girl as he, as a result this critique will correct that, I will report directly from my report, the comments in brackets the correction. Rather lacking in masculine head for a boy his age (understandably as he is a she), profile too straight, muzzle lacks squareness (both attributes required regardless of gender for the breed standard), chin fair, needs cheeks (again requirements regardless whether it be he or she) bite good. Ears large but far too wide in set (again do not conform to the requirement for the breed regardless of sex). Not the substance that a lad of his age should have achieved, (statement would remain unchanged with the exception of sex) needs more substantial body & bone to his (her) legs, sparse tail (as opposed to Tail fur long, profuse & flowing as per SOP s). Coat well prepared but needs ruff & breeches, colour more low grade Silver, poor pattern elements. Too many type/colour & pattern faults to award. My sincere apologies for the gender mix up, but the reality is, I would not have awarded this exhibit a certificate regardless of sex, based on the areas identified above. Therefore whilst the exhibitor (he as opposed to she)had a valid point regarding the sex, there would have been no change to the lack of award. Not all exhibits are of sufficient quality to go higher regardless of lack of competition. Brown/Blue Tabby Series Maine Coon Pre Champion, Male; 1 st CC & BOB. KUSMIERZ S BULGARI BUBU-COONS*PL Brown Classic Tabby, head still the look of youth (as he is), needs a little more cheeks, good muzzle, concave curve in profile, needs a little more chin, bite good. Ears large & tufted, wide open, set tall. Body long rectangular shape, large tufted paws, excellent bone to his legs, excellent tail, long & flowing, plume effect. Excellent presentation, good length, some ruff & breeches, good facials & leg bracelets, back a little solid, oysters on the sides. Wonderful temperament & super condition. He was later in the day the Supreme Adult Exhibit, congratulations. Brown/Blue Tabby Series Maine Coon, Pre Champion, Female; CC Not Awarded. 1 st JURCZYK S REYESDESELVA. SZYSZKA w Brown Classic tabby & White, very immature, even for her young age. Head has no real strength for her breed, needs more muzzle, the head needs depth, gentle concave curve, more chin needed, bite good. Ears need to be larger & more pricked,. Body rather slight & needs to fill out more, legs & paws proportionate, rather short tail for balance. Very good coat, undercoat very good, glossy well prepared top coat, good pattern elements & clean white areas. Sweet gentle nature, excellent condition, very shy, some growing up to achieve.. 1
AC Silver Tabby Series Maine Coon, Pre Champion, Female; CC & BOB Not Awarded, 1 st LYESNICHENKO S KARALO MOONSHADOW MIA Black Silver Tabby, head lacks development, requires higher more defined cheeks, rather blunt as opposed to square muzzle, shallow break, more chin required, bite over. Ears too angular & need to be larger. Hazel green eyes, very worried expression, oblique setting. Body small & narrow, narrow legs, tail needs to be longer & fuller. Coat lacks density to the undercoat, very solid on the her back, the silver ground colour not clear, with lots of tarnish. Not attained the level required for a certificate. AOC Maine Coon, Pre Champion, Male; CC & BOB Not Awarded, 1 st PAWLOWSKI S RYESDESELVA LUCJAN Black Bi-Colour, rather tense lad who needs to relax. Head has good width to the cheeks, fair muzzle, slight concave curve at the nasal bridge in profile, chin could be deeper, sore gums. Ears large but too angular in setting. Well grown lad with good long well muscled body, rectangular shape, strong legs & paws, good length tail but requires more plume effect. Coat is sadly in need of much more grooming & preparation, with knots on the tummy, his white areas need to sparkle, dull matt black colour, no shine, good length. Showing some rustiness (seasonal), interesting black chin & nose spot. AOC Maine Coon Kitten, Male; 1 st & BOB. IZYDORCZYK S BELMICOONS BIG GAME d Red Classic Tabby, handsome youngster, needs a little more cheek definition, his head a little longer than wide, small nose bump, good prominence to his whisker pads, giving square muzzle, excellent chin & bite. Ears large & well tufted, set tall. Gold eye colour, excellent long well grown body, strong legs & paws, wonderful tail huge tufted paws. Coat rich red colour, rather solid on his back, excellent facials, pale chin. Very relaxed & beautifully grown, needs a little more prep. Later Best SLH Kitten. British Chocolate, Pre Champion Adult, Male; 1 st CC & BOB. GLAVECKA S KARASH PHILIP Adolescent & still to fill out more. Head has good rounding, with cheeks filling well, rounded brow, good chin, excellent bite. Ears a little open at the base, set well, medium size. Eyes well open & round, very good golden orange colour. Well grown youngster, but the body has still to acquire depth, well proportioned legs, good tail. His coat is glossy but a little long & tends to lay rather flat, needs a little density, almost sound in colour, dark chocolate with some pattern. Borderline award on coat texture & ghosting. British Lilac Pre Champion, Female; CC & BOB Not Awarded. 1 st MIKOLAJCZYK S KARASH SILVER MOON Still very young so time to improve in size & type development. Head needs to round more fully, round on the brow, reasonable chin, bite good. Ears medium size, well set. Light gold to her round eyes. Body needs to grow on & fill out, still rather thin on he legs & paws, balanced tail for her size. Her coat needs more density, good degree of crispness. Colour a darker shade of lilac, requires more warmth. Will hopefully 2
continue to grow & mature,, has some development to achieve. Colour is a yet rather unsound. Sweet nature, very good temperament. British Brown Spotted Champion, Female; GR CH & BOB. WREN S CH PORTEOUS LAYDOWN SALLY upper Very pleasing balanced type. Round head & cheeks, round brow, chin excellent, chipped upper canine, missing top incisors, questionable but not provable. Neat small ears. Eyes well open colour just gets into the yellow range just. Lovely body conformation, well proportioned legs & paws, good tail. Coat incredibly dense but needed more preparation, excellent short length, texture excellent but needs work. Excellent colour, the spotting could be sharper. Borderline on eye colour & in need of more extensive grooming. Her temperament was absolutely wonderful, a dream to handle & play with. She was later made Best British Adult. British Colourpointed Champion, Male; GR CH Not Awarded. 1 st IZDORCZYK S CH ALEJANDRO REYES DE SELVA Blue, head not typical, very heavy jowls, creating the illusion of roundness, heavy brow line detracts from the eyes, chin & bite good. Well placed, medium size ears. Eyes are a little deep due to the brow line, pale blue colour. Body well proportioned, good bone to the legs & paws, his tail quite well balanced. Coat far too long & soft. Shaded body, with dark blue points & starting to hood. Has a wonderful temperament. Not up to this level of certificate. British Colourpointed Pre Champion, Male; 1 st CC & BOB. IZDORCZYK S KRUZINKAL TORCHWOOD (C) Lilac, head has reasonable rounding, good cheeks, round brow, chin & bite good. Medium ears. Well open round eyes, pale even blue. Body firm & quite well proportioned, good legs & paws, balanced tail. The coat has good shorter length, reasonable density, quite crisp. Excellent contrast between the clear coat & darker lilc points. Gentle nature, acne on his chin needs attention. British Colourpointed Pre Champion, Female; CC Not Awarded, 1 st IZDORCZYK S WINDYMEADOW ENCOUNTER Chocolate Tabby, very slight girl, much growing up to do. Head still to round more & fill out, round brow, good chin & bite level. Neat ears. Well open eyes, pale blue, round shape. Body very dainty & more in keeping with 6-7 months than almost a year, the body narrow, fine legs, good paws, tail good. Cat has excellent texture & density, short & crisp. Clear body, good tracings. Needs the ear tufts removing. With maturity could do well if she catches up in development. British AOC Silver Tabby Kitten; 1 st & BOB. WREN S HOONIKATZ ROCK ON RUBY. 18e Black Tortie, head showing development in proportion to her age. Still to round more fully at the cheeks, brow rounds, chin & bite good. Ears a good medium size. Eye round & well open, colour still changing (I hope), hint of green to the inner rim, remainder copper. Body is starting to broaden with proportionate legs, paws & tail. Coat short could be 3
denser, typically softer silver texture. Wonderful pattern elements & Tortie colouration. Has super silver ground colour, most attractive. Her temperament & condition were both excellent, Best British Kitten. British Silver Tabby Pre Premier Neuter, Female; 1 st PC & BOB. JOHNSON& EARLEY S HOONIKATZ SILVER BREEZER Pretty & very feminine young miss. Her head has still to fill & round out, muzzle a fraction fine, round brow, chin fair, bite excellent. Medium size ears, pricks a little. Eyes well open & round, questionable colour, leaning a little more to gold than hazel. Body is firm, good legs & paws, balanced tail. Coat short & good crispness. Good pattern but the silver ground on her back could be sharper. Small bump on her nose, eye colour may impede her progress. Lovely condition & her temperament very sweet, Best British Neuter. AC Colourpointed Pre Premier, Male; PC & BOB Not Awarded. 1 st HANDLER S REYESDESELVA SHANIT Blue, type well balanced. Cheeks round, chin & bite good. Ears are a little generous, wide base. Eyes large & well rounded, pale blue colour. Solid chunky body, good legs & paws, good tail. Coat very long & far, far too soft, tending to lay over the body. Very shaded body, mid blue points. Needs a more masculine head & has small roll off the nose tip. His condition & temperament both excellent. Korat Champion, Male; GR CH & BOB. NICHOLS S CH NIKELSILVA NEPTUNE Heart shaped in front view, rounds gently on the muzzle, slight stop in profile, chin tapers back, a little more round on the brow than ideal, bite meets just. Ears moderately large, set high. Large eyes dominate the head, lustrous green. Body lithe medium length, reasonably compact, slim legs, well balanced medium length tail. Single coat, close lying & sleek, in a darker blue, with a good amount of silvery sheen present. His condition was excellent, very quiet gentle disposition, particularly for his breed. Chocolate Burmese Neuter, Pre Premier, Male; 1 st PC & BOB. MOLLOY S COOMAKISTA FRANCISCO GOYA This lad ideally needs more width to his wedge & also the muzzle, small rise on the nose, chin & bite good. Medium size ears. The eyes are chartreuse the shape requires more definition. Firm body, good legs & paws, tail short of shoulder, rounded tip. Coat close fitting, glossy rich chocolate colour. Excellent condition & temperament. Lilac Burmese Premier, Female; GR PR Not Awarded. 1 st SLUITER S PR & TARA GR CH ALDEBIZ GINCHIKARA Very pleasing type. Short, wide blunt wedge, rounded top line, chin & bite good. Medium size well placed ears. Eyes large & well shaped, greener phase of chartreuse. Body a little overweight, her tail has a small but definite kink to the tail tip. Her coat is longer length, very sleek & close coat. Warm lilac colour. Excellent condition, very sweet disposition. 4
AOC Tortie Burmese Neuter, Premier; GR PR & BOB. NOONAN S PR POOPYLOVE MARBLED ORCHID. 27g Blue, balanced even girl. Quite short wedge, good break, chin & bite both good. Well placed ears, medium size, rounded tips. Large well shaped eyes, the colour a little more leaning to green. Excellent body, well proportioned legs, balanced tail, short of shoulder, rounded tip. Superb coat texture, wonderful satin like sleek finish, could be a little shorter. Excellent colour of blue & cream. Her condition & temperament were splendid for both. She later obtained Supreme Neuter. End of Report 5
