JANET WILLIAMS JUDGE REPORT for THE LONDON CAT CLUB SHOW 21 st July 2018 I am very grateful to Caroline for inviting me to judge at this well run show. Thanks also go to my cousin Joyce Hampton who stewarded for me and who was good company on the day. She handled the cats with great care. Class 361: GRAND CLASS 4C AC BENGAL, OCICAT, AZTEC or EGYPTIAN MAU ADULT FEMALE GR to Mr C & Mrs H Wicks CH MEMPHIS ANAHEL Silver Egyptian Mau F d.o.b. 24/7/17 I have met this young lady quite recently. She is now very nearly one year of age and she has very good Mau type. She has a rounded wedge of medium length with good width to the top of her head. Her muzzle is gently rounded in shape, and it flows well into the contours of her head. Her profile shows a very slight concave dip from her nose bridge to her nose leather and a slight rise from her bridge to her forehead. Her nose is the desired uniform width. She has a level bite. Her ears are medium in size, set well apart, and they follow the lines of her head. They are cupped forwards. Her eyes are medium sized, almond shaped and are turning a good shade of gooseberry green. They are set under a level brow, which together with her uniform nose width, gives her an excellent Mau expression. She is a petite girl for her age, with a graceful young body, that has a solid muscular feel to it. She has elegant legs, with barring and spots and nearly rounded paws. Her tail is of a medium length, moderately thick at the base, heavily banded and with a solid black tip. Her coat feels super with good resilience, and her base coat is a clear silvery white, topped with small and fairly well defined mid charcoal spots, with her spotting being clearer on one side of her body. She has a broken necklace and a spotty tummy. She was in a very lively mood when I met her, but she was easy to handle, with a lovely nature. Class 433: GRAND CLASS 4C AC BENGAL, OCICAT, AZTEC or EGYPTIAN MAU NEUTER FEMALE GR W/H Miss J Hyland PR TIMAMOON ITS ALL ABOUT MIMI Silver Snow Spotted Bengal FN d.o.b. 13/11/09
I have met this silver girl a few times before. She is a mature girl with good Bengal type, with a head that is longer than wider, and a broad muzzle with puffed whisker pads. She also has a broad nose, and a slightly shallow chin. Her profile shows a gentle curve from the bridge of her nose to her forehead and a concave curve from her nose bridge to her nose leather. Her ears are small in size, set well apart and are short and broad at the base with rounded tips. Her mid green eyes are medium sized, slightly oval in shape and are correctly set with a slant towards the base of her ears. She has a medium length tail which is fairly thick at the base but which has a bony nobble near the tip. She has a good sized body that is sleek with a muscular feel and her small paws are rounded in shape. She has dark brown paw pads. She has a ground coat which, unfortunately, is tarnished, being somewhat brownish in colour rather than silvery white, and it is a greyish-white colour at the roots rather than the desired glacial white. Her coat pattern, however, is good with clear brown spotting. Her top coat is short and soft to the touch. She has warm rufous tones to her face and down her chest, an M on her forehead, a scarab, and pale spectacles. She has a well spotted belly. I am so sorry to withhold the Grand, her Bengal type is good, and her temperament is also good, but her coat lets her down. Class 962a: GRAND CLASS AC PEDIGREE PET MASTER CAT MALE What a fantastic class with all of these boys worthy of the Grand! GR to Miss S Heath MC THOMAS O MALLEY LH Black Shaded Silver MN 2 years I do love this boy. He is stunning to behold, with his wide turquoise eyes, broad face, dinky ears and ear tufts. His coat has some very attractive shading and his facial markings are lovely. His coat was groomed to perfection. His temperament is fabulous, he is just so placid. Can anything phase him, I wonder? He simply sat on the trolley unaided, surveying all around him (after which we both enjoyed a cuddle). RES GR to Mr & Mrs GS & DV Davies MC ROCKET MAN ALFIE SLH Seal Tabby Colourpoint MN 1 year I last met this boy only 3 weeks ago, and today, like the last time, he had been prepared to perfection with his beautiful creamy coat that was silky to the touch and was entirely free of knots. He has very attractive facial markings in seal tones, clear bright blue eyes, huge round
paws, and a large plumy tail. His temperament was to die for, and he was very happy to sit on the trolley and enjoy a fuss. He was a very strong contender for the Grand. Also considered: Ms I Worsley-Waring MC MOONSTONE SH Blue MN 1 year I also met this boy 3 weeks ago. He has a round face with a deep stop to his nose, copper eyes and a short, broad tail that is banded. His coat is dense and plush and it felt lovely. He was beautifully prepared, he has a good temperament, just a fraction wriggly today, but he was very happy to be handled. He was also a very serious contender for the Grand. Class 962b: GRAND CLASS AC PEDIGREE PET MASTER CAT FEMALE GR to Miss H Cain MC SUMMER SH Blue Tabby FN 2 years This lass has a dear little face. She is of Exotic type with deep copper eyes, and a lovely blue coat that felt very dense. She has white to her muzzle and chin, a short, wide banded tail, faint tabby markings on her coat and attractive tabby markings to her face. She had been very well prepared for her day out and she has super easy going temperament. Well deserving of her award today. Class 969: SH AC TABBY CAT of any Pattern BiC to Miss H Cain MC SUMMER SH Blue Tabby FN 2 years Class 385: EGYPTIAN MAU ADULT BoB to Mr C & Mrs H Wicks CH MEMPHIS ANAHEL Silver Egyptian Mau F d.o.b. 24/7/17 Class 966 LH/SLH AOC or PATTERN CAT BiC to Miss S Heath MC THOMAS O MALLEY LH Black Shaded Silver MN 2 years Also considered for BiC: Mrs N & Mrs R C Lovell GMC AZURIA SLH Seal Tortie Point FN 2 yrs 10mths This is a very attractive girl, with deep blue eyes, tortie markings to her face, tail, legs, and on the back of her ears. She has a creamy back and white paws. She was well presented and she handled well, and was unlucky to meet the winner of the BiC today. Class 795: AV SECTION 4 ADOLESCENT ADULT
1 st to Mr C & Mrs H Wicks CH MEMPHIS ANAHEL Silver Egyptian Mau F d.o.b. 24/7/17 2 nd to Mrs R Davies CH ESPERANZA AZURE LIKE IT Blue Devon Rex F d.o.b. 9/7/17 This young Devon has lovely type, with a good stop and a heavy brow. She has pale green eyes that are widely set and large ears which she held well. Her rexxing could be better defined on her body. Class 810: AV SECTION 4 FOREIGN KITTEN FEMALE 1 st to Mrs M & Mr O Maudlin SYR AMGITSUNE*RU Chocolate Ocicat F d.o.b. 11/1/18 This young girl is just over 6 months of age. She is of good Ocicat type, with a head that is longer than wider and with a slight curve evident from her muzzle to her cheek. She has a very slight dip in her profile and a fairly broad muzzle that first appeared rounded, but the desired squareness was more evident when she relaxed a little. She has a slight whisker pinch and her chin is deep but it recedes a little. Her ears are fairly large, and were angled well, at 45 degrees on her head. She has a fair wild expression, with attractive large almond shaped dark amber coloured eyes that are angled slightly towards her ears. She is a good size and weight for her age with a strong and muscular body. Her tail is very long, it is broad at the base and it tapers slightly towards a chocolate coloured tip. It is ringed in chocolate. Her short coat lies very well. It is very fine and felt soft and satiny. Her coat has fantastic, and very clear chocolate spotting set on a very warm pale copper agouti base coat. She has some very attractive head markings, with an M on her forehead, and lines extending up over her head. She has the most superb temperament and was simply a joy to judge. She was also my choice for Best Section 4 kitten and I see that she was also awarded Overall Best Section 4 exhibit. Many congratulations go to her owner. CNH: Ms D Burgess MAYSTAREX DAME D ANGLAISE Odd eyed White Devon Rex FN d.o.b. 10/11/17 This little girl has lovely Devon type, with a super white coat that covers her body with plenty of excellent rexxing. She has that distinct pixie look with a very wide top of head, and large widely set odd coloured eyes.
She was very unhappy kitten when I met her, and she would not let me touch her, let alone take her out of her pen. Class 815: Miss S Kozlovskaya FANCYLEA WAVE Lilac Cornish Rex F d.o.b. 21/2/18 She is a young kitten with quite a narrow head and a rounded muzzle. She has very large ears that are set high, but not quite vertically on her head. She has a long tail which has a slight bony nobble towards the tip. Her eyes are amber, oval in shape, they slant towards the base of her ears and they are very expressive. She has lovely rexxing all over her body including her undersides. She handled well. Class 825: AV SECTION 4 FOREIGN ADOLESCENT NEUTER 1 st to Miss E Beale SONTAYA ESMERELDA Korat FN d.o.b. 22/5/17 This youngster has a pleasing heart-shaped head, and her profile shows a slight dip with her nose rolling off a little at the nose leather. She has fairly large greeny-yellow eyes, a lovely blue coat with a silvery sheen, a rounded muzzle and some good silvering to her head. She was not in the best of moods when I met her, being extremely vocal, growling and hissing, and I therefore examined her in her pen. Class 974: AV CAT UNDER 3 years old This was a very strong class. 1 st to Mrs M & Mr O Maudlin BEAR SH Black Silver Tabby MN 6mths This is such an attractive kitten, well grown for his age, with large ears and lovely amber coloured eyes. His coat is very short, black on a silver base coat with creamy tones, creamy legs and paws, and brownish ticking on his back. He was just so friendly, lively, alert and affectionate all rolled into one. Well deserving of his 1 st place. 2 nd to Mrs N & Mrs R C Lovell GMC AZURIA SLH Seal Tortie Point FN 2 yrs 10mths 3 rd to: Ms I Worsley-Waring MC MOONSTONE SH Blue MN 1 year Class 980: AV CAT/KITTEN RESIDENT OUTSIDE LONDON POSTAL DISTRICT 1 st to Miss S Heath MC THOMAS O MALLEY LH Black Shaded Silver MN 2 years 2 nd to Mrs C A Tolhurst BOBBY SH Blue & White M 5 mths
A very cute poppet, with a pretty blue coat and sporting an inverted white V to his face, with a white chest, white belly and white mittens. He was very gentle and cuddly. 3 rd to Mrs P Mansaray DENZEL SH Black MN 1yr 4mths This is another super young boy with an incredible glossy black coat. He was easy to handle, but he was slightly wary of me. Class 984: FRIENDLIEST CAT/KITTEN 1 st to Mrs C Fleming WOLFIE SLH Brown Classic Tabby & White MN 12yrs 9mths This is a huge and weighty boy whom I met 3 weeks ago. He is of Maine Coon type with lovely ear tufts, large ears, classic patterning to his coat, a huge plumy tail and dark amber eyes. I cannot believe he is over 12 years of age. His presentation was excellent and his coat felt super soft. Such a placid lad, he sat on the trolley unaided like a real pro. 2 nd to Ms I Worsley-Waring MC MOONSTONE SH Blue MN 1 year Class 987: AV SH CAT/KITTEN with the SLEEKEST COAT 1 st to Mrs P Mansaray DENZEL SH Black MN 1yr 4mths Class 9994: CAT/KITTEN with the MOST UNUSUAL COAT PATTERN 1 st to Mrs C A Tolhurst TOFFEE SH Tortie Classic & White Bicolour FN 8 mths This young girl is stunningly beautiful. She has lovely classic tabby markings in brown and red, a white inverted V on her face, white mittens and pale green eyes. She wasn t a very happy girl when I first met her, although she was happier when I returned later, and she then let me handle her.
