I thank Barbara for the invitation to judge at this lovely breed show. Stephen Bunce stewarded for me and was a great help. There was a super lunch provided by Joan Smith with (not) Christmas cake and to end the day I won a raffle prize of a slab of Thorntons chocolate! I had the honour to judge best Persian and I was pleased to give the award to Black Pearls Yogi Bear an Exotic Variant who was just so perfect in every way. Ac Persian Grand Premier: IMP LEWIS GR PR TROUILLORD FLAMBOUYANT (70 13B15) 2/05/10. Red Tabby Point Exotic male of lovely type with a nice compact body, good bone and a short tail. He had a good round head with neat ears set well apart, a very short broad nose with a deep break, round eyes of a good blue colour, level bite with the bottom set just a touch narrow, well rounded cheeks and a strong chin. His coat was a good length, soft, dense and very plush with his apricot body colour showing some slightly darker shading on his body. He had rich red clearly defined tabby markings to his points on a light apricot background. AC Tabby or Tabby & White Exotic Adult, Male: 1 st & CC HOLLOWAY S LEKSANA JOHNNY DEPP. (70 7) 15/11/12. Black Silver Tabby male with a large yet cobby shape to his body, very strong bone and a short tail. His head was well rounded with neat ears set well apart, round copper coloured eyes, a scissor bite, short broad nose with a deep break, round cheeks and a firm chin. His soft coat was a good length and plush with new coat coming through at the roots but silver elsewhere with dense black classic tabby markings throughout. He did have some slight staining under his chin. Super temperament. Female: 1 st CC & BOB HOLLOWAY S EXOTIQUESAMOUR DOLCI. (70 8g) 30/09/12. Blue Tortie Tabby girl of super type and very attractive. She had an excellent cobby shape to her body, lovely bone and a short tail. Well rounded head with neat ears placed well apart, large expressive deep orange eyes, almost level bite, short broad nose with a good break, fat apple cheeks and a good depth of chin. Her coat was very soft, dense and plush with deep blue classic tabby markings on a beige ground colour and overlaid with shades of cream in large patches. Two very good cats but the girl just had the edge on the day. AOC Smoke, Shaded or Tipped Exotic Adult, Female: BOB STEPHENSON S GR CH TRIBALIFE DEVILMADEMEDOIT (70 13b17) 12/04/11. Cream Tabby Colourpointed Exotic with a lovely cobby shape to her body, strong bone and a short tail. She had a well rounded head with neat ears, round blue eyes, a level bite, broad nose with a good break, round cheeks and a nice chin. She had a dense coat of good length just a touch harsh on her back. Excellent, well defined tabby markings in cream over a paler cream ground colour with pale cream on her body and no shading at all. She did appear a little nervous on the day. 1 & CC TURNER-RUSSELL S VIVALDI ANNALISA (70 55) 23/04/11. I would have liked this girl to have been a little larger but she did have a lovely cobby shape to her body with good bone and a short tail. Her round head had neat ears placed well apart with huge blue/green eyes, a short nose with a good break and a brick red leather, slightly undershot bite, nice cheeks and a chin that could have been a bit stronger. Her coat was really soft and plush, of good length and standing out well from her body with even tipping down 1/3 of the length of her hairs. Her undercoat was a pure silvery white and she had shading to the back of her feet. Lovely outlining to her eyes, lips and nose in dense black. Super temperament. Pewter/Blue Pewter Kitten, Female: 1 & BOB DANKS TAMOSAH LEADING LADY (53) 03/05/13. Beautiful Black Pewter kitten, so pretty and a real treat to judge her. She had a super cobby shape to her body, lovely bone and a short full tail. Her head was well 1
rounded with neat ears set well apart, a level bite, large deep orange eyes, short broad nose with a good break, fat cheeks and a strong chin. Her full coat was soft and well presented of pure silver white with even black shading that was quite delicate and attractive. She had a brick red nose leather outlined in black as were her eyes. She had some shading to the back of her legs with black paw pads. There was a touch of staining transferred from her legs to around her eyes which was the only negative comment that I made in my judges book. Super temperament. Brown or Blue Tabby (inc Bi-Colour) Maine Coon Kitten, Female: 1 & BOB HANCOCK S JULESCOON GEMINI (64 41w) 10/04/13. Very promising Brown Tabby and White girl who for her age was a really good size. She had a large rectangular body with good bone, a long neck, substantial legs and large round paws. Her tail reached her shoulder and tapered towards the tip with fairly long flowing fur. She had an excellent square muzzle with high cheek bones but she needs to fill out across her head. Large, tall ears that were wide at their base, sitting high on her head yet well apart with rounded tips, very long tufts and good feathers Her green/gold eyes were set at a slightly oblique angle and placed well apart. She had a medium length to her nose with a very shallow concave curve to her nasal bridge. Wide level bite. Her chin was wide and strong with a straight perpendicular line falling from her nose tip to the bottom of her chin. She had a soft semi long coat with some undercoat with a glossy waterproof topcoat. At the moment she has very little frontal ruff with no breeches or belly fur to speak of but well tufted feet. Her winter coat is just starting to come in. Her coat showed a classic tabby pattern in dense black on a not too rich copper ground colour with excellent tabby markings, except down her spine where it was quite solid. She had white to her face, feet, chest, chin and belly. Super temperament and one I would like to watch as she develops. AC Silver Tabby Maine Coon Kitten, Female: 1 & BOB BROOM S MYNDMACOONS BONNIE (64 41es) 29/01/13. Tortie Silver Tabby girl who needs to grow and develop in both body and head type. She had a medium sized long and rectangular body with bone that could have been stronger, a long neck and round paws at the end of legs that were rather delicate. Her tail reached her shoulder, tapered towards the tip and covered by long fur. Her muzzle although quite well defined was a little short and narrow. She had ears of medium size, wide at their base, set well apart on her head with rounded tips, short tufts and well feathered. Her gold coloured eyes were full and round, set quite well apart and at a slightly oblique angle. Her medium length nose had a concave curve to the nasal bridge. Level bite. She had a very strong chin and a straight line from her nose tip to the bottom of her chin. Her coat was soft and semi long with a good undercoat and a lovely glossy, waterproof topcoat with a short frontal ruff, shaggy breeches and belly and well tufted feet. She had a very good silver ground colour with dense black classic tabby markings, quite solid down her spine, and overlaid with shades of red. Very feminine girl who needs time to develop. AOC Tabby, Smoke or Shaded Maine Coon Kitten, Male: 1 & BOB BROOM S MYNDMACOONS ROBINTOM (64 41D) 29/01/13. Red Tabby boy who is litter brother to the above girl and like her he has some growing and developing to do. He had a large rectangular body with a broad chest, good bone, long thick neck, substantial legs and large round paws. His tail reached his shoulder, was wide at the base, tapered to the tip and covered by long fur. His muzzle was reasonably square with good width across his cheeks. His ears were not overlarge, needed a little more width at their base and he tended to hold them a little low on his head which meant they looked as if they were well apart, with rounded tips, long tufts and well feathered. His gold coloured eyes were full 2
and round, quite wide apart and at a slightly oblique angle. He had a medium length nose and a very shallow concave curve to his nasal bridge. Level bite. His chin was reasonably strong and fell in almost a straight line from his nose tip. He had a very soft semi long coat with a glossy top over a good undercoat. His frontal ruff is short with shaggy breeches and belly fur and well tufted feet. His classic markings were well defined in very rich deep red, except his back which was rather solid, over a paler undercoat. Lovely temperament. AC Persian Adult: 1. STEPHENSON S GR CH TRIBALIFE DEVILMADEMEDOIT (70 13b17) 12/04/ DANKS TAMOSAH KING OF ARMS (53) 29/06/12. Pewter male of lovely type with a good cobby shape to his body, strong bone and a very short tail. His head was well rounded with huge expressive orange eyes, a scissor bite and neat ears. His coat was very well prepared with the new coat coming through at the roots and very light tipping at the ends of the hair, just giving him the required mantle over his back. 3. TURNER-RUSSELL S VIVALDI ANNALISA (70 55) 23/04/11. Ac Persian Junior Adult: 1. SMALL S HEATHROSE MEMPHIS-BELLE (7E) 25/05/12. Tortie Silver Tabby girl who was not too happy on the day. She is not a large cat but with nice type overall. Compact cobby body with a tail length in proportion. Her head was not perfectly smooth with large green eyes, an almost level bite and neat ears. Soft coat with a lovely silver ground and classic black tabby markings and overlaid with shades of red, especially her face. AC Persian Breeders Kitten, Female: 1. WYATT S EXOTIQUESAMOUR COSETTE ( ) 09/04/13. Black Silver Spotted Exotic of lovely type with a good cobby shaped body, nice bone and a tail length in proportion. Her head had good width between neat ears, level bite, round orange eyes and a little lacking in her cheeks and chin at the moment. Fantastic coat, dense, plush and a super length with excellent silver ground and a good black spotted pattern throughout her coat. 2. DANKS TAMOSAH LEADING LADY (53) 03/05/13. AC Persian Maiden Kitten, Female: 1. STEPHENSON S TRIBALIFE DUCATI (70 8F) 03/04/13. Super Cream Tabby Exotic with an excellent cobby shape to her body, good bone and a short tail. Very well rounded head with neat ears, large deep orange eyes, level bite, short broad nose and fat cheeks. She just needs her chin to firm up a little. Fabulous coat, very soft, dense and plush with classic cream markings well defined on a paler cream ground colour. Wonderful temperament. AC SLH Aristocrat Adult: 1. FORREST S CAMERSHANCOONS FIRE N ICE (64 41d) 05/06/12. Red Tabby Maine Coon female showing lovely type with a medium sized rectangular body, good bone, a long neck, quite substantial legs and large round paws. She had a nice head with a square muzzle and a very good concave curve to the nasal bridge. Lovely coat with super preparation that showed almost perfect classic tabby markings in very deep rich red. Super temperament. 2. HARRIS MENTOBE KATAREENA (82 31t) 06/10/10. Lovely Brown Tabby and White Siberian female with a good deal of heft to her body. Short tail and a nice wedge to her head. Lovely coat length with the correct texture and colours. 3. AGGETT S ISADORYOU STARS N STRIPES (64 41w) 23/03/11. AV SLH Adult: 1. HIBBS CH ROCKCOON NELSON (64 15d) 08/11/11. Red Maine Coon male with a huge long rectangular body, a long tail and an excellent square muzzle, 3
with large ears and a shallow concave curve to his nasal bridge. His soft coat was well prepared and was a good deep rich red colour with just a hint of tabby markings. AV ALH Novice Adult: 1. HANCOCK S FLOSCOONS BEAR (64 41) 06/12/12. Really large Brown Tabby Maine Coon male of super overall type with a long rectangular body, substantial legs ending in huge round paws, a good square muzzle, high broad cheekbones, a shallow concave curve to his nasal bridge and large expressive gold coloured eyes. Good length coat with well defined classic markings in black with a ground colour that was a little cold rather than warm copper in colour. 2. BROOM S MYNDMACOONS HURRICANHATTY (64 31s) 23/11/12. Black Smoke and White Maine Coon female who was not overly large in her body and lacked muscle on her back. Her muzzle could have been better and she lacked width across her cheekbones. Very shallow concave curve to her nasal bridge with a slight bump on her nose. Her coat was soft but lacked gloss with her undercoat a reasonable silver colour and dense black tipping. She had clean white to her chest, feet and tummy. AV SLH Adolescent Adult: 1. SMITH S BRIZLINCOAT CALLME MADAM (63L) 06/09/12. Long haired Usual Somali of lovely type with expressive green eyes and a soft dense coat that showed a full ruff and nice breeches. Super temperament and well presented. AV SLH Junior Adult: 1.. FORREST S CAMERSHANCOONS FIRE N ICE (64 41d) 05/06/ HIBBS CH ROCKCOON NELSON (64 15d) 08/11/ BROOM S MYNDMACOONS HURRICANHATTY (64 31s) 23/11/12. AV SLH Visitors Adult: 1. BURNS GR CH SOMANTIKKS FURRERO ROCHER (63b) 18/04/11. Long Hair Chocolate Somali male showing good head type with beautiful green eyes. His dense, close lying coat had a good apricot base with dark chocolate ticking. Lovely to handle. AV SLH Kitten: 1. HANCOCK S JULESCOON GEMINI (64 41w) 10/04/ MOSS ROWGARNOR MAGDALENA (67 31gt) 09/02/13. Blue Tortie Tabby and White Norwegian Forest Cat female with an excellent straight profile, deep green eyes but I would have liked her tail a little longer for better balance. She had a super soft coat showing the correct colours and patterns. AV SLH Radius Kitten: 1. MOSS ROWGARNOR MAGDALENA (67 31gt) 09/02/13. AV SLH Visitors Kitten: 1. HANCOCK S JULESCOON GEMINI (64 41w) 10/04/ BROOM S MYNDMACOONS ROBINTOM (64 41D) 29/01/ BROOM S MYNDMACOONS BONNIE (64 41es) 29/01/13. AV SLH Breeders Neuter: 1. BUTLER S UK & IMP GR PR JUNGLEBELLES LADYOF ATHENA (64 41w) 05/08/08. Large Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon girl who was really gentle and lovely to judge. She had a long rectangular body with good bone and muscle, a broad chest, square rump, thick neck, substantial legs with large round paws. I would have liked her muzzle to be just a touch longer and she was holding her ears a little low. Super concave curve to the nasal bridge. Her coat was really soft, a good length with a wonderful warm copper ground colour with good classic tabby markings showing some slight brindling. White to her chin, chest, legs and tummy. 4
AV SLH Neuter not bred by Exhibitor: 1. WATTS UK & IMP GR CH & GR PR BRIZLINCOAT TOOMAI. (63) 04/09/13. Long haired Usual Somali female aged 10 years and what a stunner. Congratulations on the overall BIS award. She had good head type, expressive green eyes, dense coat that was soft with the new coat coming through at the roots but lovely tipping throughout. 2. BUTLER S PR CELTICOON BILBERRY (64 41aw) 02/04/11. Blue Tabby and White Maine Coon male with a large rectangular body, good bone and muscle and a broad chest. He had a nice square muzzle but could have done with a bit more width across his cheekbones. Shallow concave curve to his nasal bridge. Soft, semi long coat that lacked gloss but he did have shaggy breeches and belly fur with a full frontal ruff. I would have liked to see a touch more preparation to his belly. His ground colour was a cold beige with good classic blue markings. 3. BISHOP S CH & PR TIGANLEA LADY FANTASIA (67 31ets) 09/06/05. AV SLH Senior Neuter: 1. WATTS UK & IMP GR CH & GR PR BRIZLINCOAT TOOMAI. (63) 04/09/ WHITTLE S UK GR PR TIGANLEA LORD FERDINAND (67 31ts) 09/06/05. He was a large mature boy with a long rectangular body, excellent square muzzle and very wide across his high cheekbones. Large ears placed perfectly on the top of his head. Super shallow concave curve to his nasal bridge. His coat had perfect classic tabby markings in deep red with a paler red ground colour. White to his chin, chest, legs and belly. 5
