My thanks to the committee for once again inviting me to judge at this very relaxed and friendly show so ably managed by Mark Lewis aided by Isabel and Neal. Mark is without doubt one of the most experienced Show Managers in the UK and the PRBCC is lucky to have him on-board. The entry was fairly low in numbers, albeit higher than last year, though high in terms of quality. I am not quite sure why this show does not get better support; the venue is first class with 100% natural daylight and is centrally located only minutes from the motorway network. There were some very high quality cats present and provided me with a very pleasant morning s work. My thanks as always to my partner Mark for accompanying me and acting as my steward: we had a good day together. Unfortunately I did manage to make a bit of a blunder and committed the ultimate sin, namely cross judging and I will always hold up my hands to a mistake, I am human! In the miscellaneous classes I judged one class of repeats from my various Breed classes and placed the cats by a paper exercise from my notes (something the majority of judges do at every show); when it came to selecting Best Adult however I re-judged and handled all the contenders as if starting from scratch and completely overlooked the fact that I had judged 2 of them in a miscellaneous class!! I hang my head in shame. I reversed the order.. Take me outside guys and shoot me I can only apologise I made a mistake.. From the contenders for BIS I selected as the BEST ADULT Mr Stuart Ryan s home bred female SARAGGS TALKOFTHE-TOWN, an absolutely delightful 9 month old Blue Cream Bicolour and in my opinion definitely the best adult female in the show; my selection for BEST KITTEN was Mrs & Mr Oxley s KIWI MAGIC OUR BEST KEPT SECRET, a very confident and self-assured young Seal Mitted lad of very great promise; and my BEST NEUTER was Mrs L & Mrs C Jones KOC-POL CAT HEFAJSTOS a simply stunning 17 month old Blue Bicolour bred by Mrs Monika Koc in Poland: without any hesitation I made him OVERALL BEST EXHIBIT. This lad is absolutely superb type and embodies so much of what I have always looked for in the Ragdoll; a breed I have had the pleasure of judging in the UK for the past 26 years; in my books he is a stunning example of the breed. I noted from the catalogue that the Best Adult and the Best Kitten were also sired by Koc-Pol Cats. I have judged Ragdolls on numerous occasions on the Continent and the Koc-Pol prefix is always very much to the fore, without doubt Monika Koc is one of the leading breeders of the Ragdoll and the influence of her cats can only be an advantage to the breed here in the UK. AV SLH GR PR NEUTER MALE IMP to Mrs T Hassett s GR CH & GR PR TUMBLERAG HAPPYTYMES MN A well balanced chap of overall very pleasing type and conformation. Strong masculine head with very good type and balance. Ears of very good shape and size, very well set. Very good profile overall but, when the fur is flattened, his nose is just a little straight for perfection. Even bite and excellent depth of chin. Very good strong well-shaped muzzle, cheeks well-formed and clearly defined giving that typical Ragdoll look. Good sized blue eyes of good shape. Very good length body of excellent type and balance with considerable substance; well sprung rib-cage. Good strength to bone. Sturdy legs and well balanced plumed tail. Coat of very good texture though just a tad short (seasonal) on the day. Shown in excellent Page 1 of 9

physical condition and very well presented. This lovely natured Gent well deserved the Imp GPC and I had absolutely no hesitation in awarding it to him. A lovely natured chap of superb quality and a real pleasure to handle it is so pleasing when the exhibits respond to a bit of fuss. He was extremely unlucky that he had to compete with the blue upstart for BoB: however the fact that he lost out most certainly does not diminish his quality, he is a lovely cat. On another day. AOV SLH CHAMPION ADULT MALE 1 Gr Ch n/a Mr & Mrs Webb s CH ROYALRUMBALLS BLUE BANDIT M 66 31a A cat of overall good size and type, but on the day he appeared to be a rather gangling teenager and needs to mature in order to successfully compete at this level. His head is currently rather unbalanced being too long for the breadth this was exacerbated by the absence of jowls and shortage of coat. Muzzle needs to be slightly broader and the cheeks need better definition. Good basic profile but his nose had the illusion of being a tad long increased bodyweight and full coat would certainly correct many of these minor issues. Good short neck leading to body of excellent length, just a little fine in bone. Body fairly well-muscled but he does need a little more bodyweight for show condition. Coat a little sparse but of fairly good length, just a little greasy. Overall a well-marked chap, though on the RHS hind leg the white only just about reaches the hock with just a ribbon running upwards. This lovely well natured lad has a great deal to like about him, but on the day he just didn t quite reach the standard required for the award of the Gr Ch certificate: he is young and with maturity and full coat it could/would be a different story AC BI-COLOUR ADULT MALE Considered for BoB: Mr & Mrs Webb s CH ROYALRUMBALLS BLUE BANDIT M (See above) AC BI-COLOUR ADULT FEMALE 1 CC & BoB Mr S Ryan s SARAGGS TALK OF THE-TOWN F 66 31g A large well developed lass of excellent overall type and elegance, showing great promise and all at just 2 days into adult classes!! Head of overall excellent type and perfect balance. Well-furnished ears of excellent size for balance, well-shaped and perfectly set with correct forward tilt. Excellent top of head, looks slightly domed but on handling this is purely coat. Excellent profile, well defined indentation at nose which is of perfect length for balance. Correct bite and firm chin. Excellent muzzle shape and very well developed cheeks giving the desired Ragdoll look. Eyes of very good size and shape but unfortunately rather a pale blue in colour. Head proudly carried on short sturdy neck, long body which is of excellent type with both size and substance especially in view of her age; well sprung ribs. Sturdy legs showing strength of bone, large rounded paws. Well plumed tail in a length to compliment body. Coat of excellent length and silky texture, prepared to perfection. Well coloured points, cream at present a bit wishy washy but definitely in accord with her age, as she matures the cream colour will become more pronounced. Beautiful even white facial markings, well-marked legs. A delightful natured lass who loved the attention: she is a superb example of the breed and well deserving of the CC and BoB, and ultimately Best Adult and all at just 9 months and 2 days!! Congratulations to Breeder/Exhibitor. Page 2 of 9

AC MITTED RAGDOLL ADULT MALE 1 CC n/a Mrs L Moore s BONNISSY BARLIN BLUE M 66aw A well-built chap of overall very pleasing type. A strong head of very good type and correct overall balance. Well sized ears of very good shape, very well set. Excellent top of head. Profile appeared to be just a fraction straight and nose just a smidgeon long for absolute perfection full coat would correct this illusion. Very good bite and strong chin. Fairly good muzzle shape and cheeks showing fairly good definition. Eyes of very good size and shape and of a very good depth of clear blue colour. Body of very good size and substance, good strength of bone, legs and tail in proportion. Coat appeared to be of good texture but unfortunately he was totally out of coat. Well-marked with very good points colour and nicely shaded colour to body. Unfortunately he was so badly out of coat that I could not make allowances for seasonal shortage - the absence of coat of necessity precluded the award of the CC, in full coat I have no doubt he would have easily deserved the award, but on the day.. A lovely natured chap with so much to like about him, such a pity he left his coat at home. Considered for BoB: Miss L Jamieson s GR CH PARTYPALACE ROSSINI M 66dw A large, well grown, lad of overall excellent type with both size and substance, and a definite presence about him but unfortunately he definitely had a bad attitude! Strong masculine head of overall excellent type, and in correct balance. Ears of excellent size and shape, set to perfection. Excellent broad flat top of head. Excellent profile, good firm chin. Well balanced nose. Very good muzzle shape and excellent cheek development, especially in view of his age. Eyes of excellent size and shape and quite the deepest blue possible. Good short neck. Excellent length body of superb type with excellent size and substance especially so when you consider his age. Strongly boned sturdy legs, well balanced plumed tail. Full coat of excellent length and texture, very well prepared and presented. Well-marked with matching mitts and even back legs; excellent rich points colour and warm toned body. An excellent example of the breed and a cat with so much going for him but unfortunately on the day he was decidedly unimpressed with judges & stewards and had a decidedly bad attitude. He actually handled well on the table apart from being very mouthy, but he erupted when returned to his pen! Whilst I do not believe he is nasty ; his attitude on the day cost him the BoB, and ultimately a visit to a BiS pen such a pity. A really superb lad, hopefully he will grow out of his stroppy attitude before he gets a totally unnecessary reputation. AC MITTED RAGDOLL ADULT FEMALE 1 CC & BoB Mr T O Neill s DOLLVINE BOOTY LICIOUS F 66tw At 13 months of age this delightful young female is surprisingly mature and has overall excellent type with size and substance. Extremely well balanced head of excellent shape and type. Well-furnished ears of very good size and shape, set to perfection; very good width between, and developing a good flat skull. Excellent profile with correct indentation and nose of very good length for perfect balance. Good breadth of muzzle which is of very good shape and has strength, strongly developed cheeks giving a look of quality. Good sized eyes which are of beautiful shape but unfortunately they are quite pale which is made worse by the fact that she has such strong facial markings. Head carried well on short sturdy neck. This lass is very well grown for her age and has a body of excellent length with both size and substance, well sprung ribs. Excellent strength of bone to legs, lovely rounded paws. Tail of good length Page 3 of 9

to compliment body. Not quite in full coat. Coat of excellent length and silky texture, prepared and presented to perfection Wonderful, clearly defined seal brown tabby markings to face; clear thumb prints to ears; well defined barring down the legs to the sparkling white markings; clearly ringed tail. It is good to see a Tabby with such clarity of markings. Matching white mitts to front legs and well-marked hind legs. A very attractive and delightful youngster shown in excellent body condition and groomed to perfection. She was a most friendly lass and thoroughly enjoyed the attention, she was a real pleasure to handle. I had absolutely no hesitation in awarding her the CC, which she justly deserved in full coat and with increased maturity she will certainly take some beating! 2 Mrs J Preece s WENLOCKEDGE STARDUST F 66aw At 4 years old I found this attractive female to be rather small, lightweight, and fine boned. Head of overall correct type, but rather fine. Ears of good size shape and set, and in proportion. Good flat top of head. Good profile overall, nose just a little too long. Correct bite, chin just a tad shallow. Muzzle rather fine and showing a pinch. Cheeks fairly well developed but needing greater breadth. Eyes of very good blue colour, unfortunately they were a little large and rather full. Body of fair type but rather small and fine. Tail rather sparsely coated and too short for balance. Coat of good length and fair texture, but clearly not in full coat, well prepared. A very friendly good natured lass who once she got over the shock of standing on the table, and realised that we had already had breakfast, clearly began to enjoy the attention! AC BI-COLOUR ADULT NEUTER MALE 1 PC & BOB Mrs L & Mrs C Jones KOC-POL CAT HEFAJSTOS (Imp) MN 66 31a To say I was impressed with this lad would be a bit of an under-statement! He is a superb example of the breed and has just about everything I look for in this breed. Head of excellent overall shape, type and balance he just looks the part! Ears of very good size and shape, excellent set. Excellent flat top of head. Excellent profile exactly as described in the breed standard. Excellent muzzle shape, well rounded strongly defined cheeks. Correct bite and lovely firm chin. Eyes of very good size and shape, a good clear blue colour, though for perfection I would like it a little deeper in colour. Head perfectly held on short sturdy neck. Long body of excellent size and substance. Strong legs with lovely large rounded paws. Well plumed tail in perfect proportion. Coat of excellent length and texture, he appeared to be in full coat. Excellent facial and leg markings; beautiful blue colour to points. Shown in excellent condition and very well presented. This lad had a wonderful friendly temperament and couldn t wait to get out of his pen and onto the table purring merrily away he certainly presented himself to best advantage! I had absolutely no hesitation in awarding him the PC and BoB, and then he simply strolled through to Best Neuter and on to Best in Show. A lovely chap, it was a real pleasure to judge him. I suggest that his owners prepare to win a lot more top honours with him! Considered for BoB: Mrs T Hassett s GR CH & GR PR TUMBLERAG HAPPYTYMES MN (See above) AC or PATTERN ADULT FEMALE 1 Mr T O Neill s DOLLVINE BOOTY LICIOUS F 66tw Page 4 of 9

2 Mr S Ryan s SARAGGS TALK OF THE-TOWN F 66 31g Mrs J Preece s WENLOCKEDGE STARDUST F 66aw AC or PATTERN JUNIOR ADULT 1 Mrs L Moore s BONNISSY BARLIN BLUE M 66aw ANY PATTERN RED, CREAM or TORTIE (excluding Tabby) ADULT 1 Mr S Ryan s SARAGGS TALK OF THE-TOWN F 66 31g Mr S Ryan s SARAGGS TALK-THAT-TALK F 66 gt Litter sister of the winner. A well grown lass just 2 days into adult classes. A very smart young lady of overall excellence. Well balanced head of excellent shape and type overall. Ears of very good size and shape, excellent set. Excellent breadth top of head, a little rounded and still needs to flatten which I would expect at this age. Excellent profile, nose length in proportion. Perfect even bite, very good chinline. Strong beautifully shaped muzzle. Cheeks showing an excellent degree of development for her tender age. Eyes of very good size and excellent shape, unfortunately they are rather a pale blue in colour. Head carried well on short stout neck. Body of excellent length, well-muscled and of superb type, well grown for her age and showing excellent substance. Excellent coat length and texture, points showing fairly well defined tabby markings typical of a Torbie or Tortie Tabby. An extremely well grown lass showing maturity well beyond her age, she has a superb temperament and really seemed to be enjoying her day out. A superb example of the breed and she came second to her sister! Excellent coat preparation and presentation. A real joy to handle. She shows a great deal of promise and should have a great show career before her. AC or PATTERN NON-BREEDERS KITTEN MALE 1 Mrs & Mr Oxley s KIWI MAGIC OUR BEST KEPT SECRET M 66w A well grown and very pleasing kitten of overall excellent type and balance: for such a young age he shows a remarkable degree of maturity. Well balanced head of very good type and overall appearance. Ears of perfect size, very well shaped and correctly set. Very good width top of head, flattening nicely. Excellent profile, very good nose length, correct bite and lovely firm chin. Excellent muzzle shape, cheeks showing excellent development for his age. Eyes of a clear blue colour, very good size and shape. Good chunky neck. Body of excellent type and balance, very good length and with substance. Good sturdy legs with strong bone, large rounded paws. Tail of correct length for balance. Coat of excellent length and texture, well-marked. A delightful natured lad, in excellent firm condition and very well prepared. A very promising youngster indeed and I was delighted to award him Best Kitten an award he justly deserved. AC or PATTERN NON-BREEDERS KITTEN FEMALE 1 Mrs & Mr Oxley s LADYDOLL SALOME F A well balanced young lass of overall very pleasing type. Head of overall excellence and adhering closely to the SoP. Ears of very good shape, correct size for the head and extremely well set. Good width to skull which is flattening well for age. Very good profile overall, though at present she is a trifle long in the nose hopefully with age she will grow into it. Good muzzle shape, cheeks developing well for age. Eyes of good size and shape but rather too pale in colour. Firm body of very good type and size, well Page 5 of 9

balanced legs and tail, strength of bone in proportion. Excellent coat length and texture well presented. Lovely friendly lass showing great promise. 2 Mrs N Baxter s KYETSI AMADOLA CARYMESE F 66 31e A wee baby showing some promise and cute with it!! In accordance with her age she is very much a kitten and as such was at a disadvantage competing with older kittens with better development. Ears of good size and shape correctly set. Profile shows promise. Body length good, solidly build and well boned for age. Coat still baby coat. A lovely natured baby and most definitely cuddleable (does such a word exist?) AC or PATTERN VISITORS KITTEN 1 Mrs L Spendlove s PERRLYMIST MEDFORD LAPIS M 66c A large well grown lad showing excellent size and substance for his age. Head of fairly good type though just a little unbalanced overall. Ears just a little large for balance and though they appear to be correctly set he tended to hold them a little too low. Eyes of good blue colour for a lilac, well-shaped, but just a little large. Profile just a little too straight and nose a little long. Cheeks showing good development for age. Excellent body type with both size and substance. Strong bone to legs. Coat of excellent length and texture, very well presented. Excellent soft lilac points colour. There is a lot to like about this very attractive, sweet natured, lad and he shows a lot of promise; my concerns about his head were relatively minor, but together made the head appear rather unbalanced, and I believe they will probably correct with age. AC or PATTERN SENIOR NEUTER 1 Mrs J Preece s PR WENLOCKEDGE BUSTER MN 66a A large, solidly built elderly gent of very pleasing type overall. Head of excellent type and overall balance. Ears of very good size and shape, excellent set. Excellent top of head. Excellent profile. Eyes of very good size and shape, just a little pale in colour. Very good muzzle shape, cheeks very well developed and clearly defined. Good short neck. Excellent length body, large and of excellent substance, well sprung ribcage. Strong bone to legs. Tail of good length. Excellent coat length and texture. Very good points colour and showing good contrast. A lovely gent shown in excellent condition. A really affectionate old chap and a pleasure to handle. 2 Mrs D Ashcroft s WENLOCKEDGE SASSY FN 66a An attractive lady of overall very pleasing type. Well balanced head of very good type. Perfectly set ears of very good size and shape. Good broad flat top of head. Good profile, chin just a little shallow. Eyes of good shape and size, colour rather pale. Body of very good type, with excellent size and substance. Coat of very good length and texture. Unfortunately she was a bit grumpy and didn t really want to play today! Excellent condition. 3 Mrs J Adams FILENSIO THE-MUFFIN-MAN MN 60 27sw An attractive chap of overall very good type. Well balanced head conforming closely to the Breed Standard. Ears of very good size and set. Good top of head. Very good profile, correct bite and strong chin. Eyes of good shape and set, good aqua colour. A large strongly built body with excellent substance. Sturdy legs with strong bone. Coat of good length and texture, fairly well marked. An attractive lad shown in very good condition, lovely friendly nature. Page 6 of 9

A very promising kitten indeed and another really outgoing little lady, she was a real pleasure to handle. 2 Mrs J Rolfe s KYETSI BUTTERSCOTCH BARNEY MN 66f A rather immature looking chap who was quite grumpy and really did moan on a bit, but he handled OK! Head just a little unbalanced, lacking sufficient width for the length, but this could well even out with maturity. Ears of fairly good size, shape and set. Good overall profile, though nose could be a little shorter. Muzzle just a little fine and cheeks need to be more pronounced. Eyes of good size but very full and rather pale in colour. Long body of very good size and substance. Well boned legs. Balanced tail. Coat of good length and texture, well prepared, points a very hot cream, body warmly shaded. A solid chap Page 7 of 9

needs time to mature and maybe he needs to learn to purr at the judge rather than moaning on and on and on 3 Mrs L Moore s BONNISSY BARLIN BLUE M 66aw =4 Mrs P Wyatt s KYETSI WISHINON ASTAR M A cute and bonny baby clearly on his first day out! Balanced head of overall good type. Ears of good shape and set, with top of head still rounded. Promising profile. Correct bite and good chin-line. Eyes of good size and shape colour developing. Body of good size and substance for age with legs and tail in proportion. Well-marked face. Coat still very much a fluffy baby-coat. A happy little soul and at such a disadvantage against the big girls and boys! = 4 Mrs P Wyatt s KYETSI KRUMBLE KORNALINA M 66d Another cute little tiddler and again very obviously a baby! Very difficult to assess and totally disadvantaged in this class. His chin was very prominent and his bite noticeably undershot. A happy little chappie of good size for his age and in very good condition. Purring away he didn t seem at all phased by the events of the day.
