1 Show Report from Sharara Crichton Yorkshire County Cat Club Show November 11 th 2017 The Yorkshire show this year kept its usual famous tradition of being the most friendly well run show with a super entry of cats. My thanks to Lynda, Jim and the club for the invitation and excellent hospitality. I was delighted to have so many ragdoll kittens to judge and had a most enjoyable day ably helped by Lillian Eames who kindly agreed to steward for me. To top it all another judge, who shall be nameless, made me buy some raffle tickets which resulted in me winning a rather large toy dog with the fluffiest floppy ears! Have decided he might be too nice to give away to any child I know! Best of Variety Persian The quality of all Persians was outstanding and I was delighted to be able to judge the overall best of show Persian exhibit which had three wonderful cats. A very handsome red self male neuter, GR PR Heathrose Out of Eden, with super rich sound red coat colour, a lovely tortoiseshell female, GR CH Levina Freya, with wonderful bright tortie colours and lovely type and a delightful tortie and white kitten, Cullykhan Bellini, who had perfectly balanced type with beautiful coloured markings and a sweet nature to boot who won the overall award. Congratulations to all of them. Grand Class: Persian Self Champion, Female Priestley s CH Heathrose Moon Over Miami 1 GR CC A very cobby blue Persian girl with lovely type and who was just fifteen months old. Balanced body of good weight and compact shape set low on short squat legs. Good width of head, well rounded with tiny ears, set low and spaced well apart. Large eyes, fully round in shape had fabulous deep copper colour and a bright alert expression. Very good profile with a very short nose, a well defined nose break and a small blue nose leather. Full rounded cheeks and a balanced chin with a scissor bite. The coat was long, even in length with a soft texture. Trousers were fluffy and the tail was short and fully furnished. The colour was not a pastel blue but was more a steel blue shade and was even over the back and head. A very well prepared exhibit with a very quiet gentle nature and who was beautifully presented. Imperial Class: Persian Grand Premier, Male Imp GR PR Faber s GR PR Heathrose Outof Eden A very handsome red self neuter boy over two years of age. Fully mature boy in his prime with a very solid feel to body and limbs. Cobby frame set low with a broad chest and well

2 rounded rump. Plenty of width to the top of well rounded head with neat ears that were widely spaced and well feathered. Super deep copper colour in well rounded large eyes that had an appealing expression. Very short nose with an extremely strong nose break and a pink nose leather. Rounded cheeks and a broad muzzle with long forward flowing whiskers. He had a full coat that was fairly lengthy and soft in texture with fluffy trousers and a full frill. The tail was short and fluffy and the coat had a very sound rich red colour over his back and head with just a hint of barring on the limbs. A gentleman when handled and shown with good preparation. Cream Persian Kitten 1 and BOB Ramshaw s Parmel Jamez Dean A seven month old cream boy with pleasing type. Shapely cobby body well grown in size with good bone, set low on strong legs. Wide top of head that was slightly bumpy and carried small feathered ears that were widely spaced. Bold expressive eyes were of good size and had lovely deep muddy colour that is still changing and looks to be very good in future. Cheeks were fat and rounded and he had a very short nose with a strong nose break and pink nose leather. The chin was well formed and he had a scissor bite. The coat was lovely and soft with a short frill and fully fluffy trousers. A very short tail was very well plumed and shaped like a xmas tree. The shade of cream was a little hot and had some shadiness over the back area and was possibly still partly kitten coat that should clear in time. A little nervous when handled and needing to be more relaxed when handled. I hope he gets used to being shown. Blue Colourpoint Persian Kitten 1 and BOB Short s Tilsie Little-Miss Sunshine A seven month old blue point baby with lovely type and who was a most appealing kitten. Well balanced head and body with cobby shape that was compact and had good weight and boning. Legs were short and had well rounded paws. Rounded head with plenty of width and small well placed ears that had lovely long ear feathers. Flat profile with a very short nose and a very strong stop and a tiny blue nose leather. Well shaped round eyes had good blue eye colour that was deeper in the centre and pale blue at the edges of the eye ball. Her chin was strong and deep and she had a scissor bite. Her mask was developing well and was a pleasing blue shade and matched the ears perfectly with the other points almost matching in colour. Her coat was lovely and soft and very clear glacial white with a dinky short fluffy tail. A very sweet kitten, well presented and a poppet to handle. Chocolate or Lilac Point Birman Neuter, Male

3 Two wonderful birman exhibits who gave me a real head ache making up my mind for best of breed and which I changed more than once! Wanted them both to have a first. place. However, in the end decided on the nine year old girl to get Best of breed. BOB Hobson s Pr Twinkletoes Cosmos Delight A very pretty chocolate girl who was over nine years of age and who was in excellent condition for her age. Well developed head type that was broad and rounded and carried medium size ears that were spaced well apart. The profile had a slight dip with a chocolate nose leather and she had a slightly tapering chin in line. Large eyes were almost round in shape and had deep blue eye colour. The face had good cheek width but her bite was not seen. A full mask of dark chocolate covered the face rather than a milk chocolate shade but it matched the ears and tail perfectly while the paws were paler in tone. She was well muscled with a firm solid body supported on strong well boned legs with short rounded paws. Foot markings were clean white and were perfectly matching and her coat was lovely and soft, very clear ivory white and of medium length with a fluffy tail that was in proportion to the body length. Not the easiest cat to handle as she was somewhat grumpy when being handled and not in a good humour when returned to her pen. Not placed for Best of Breed Faber s GR PR Jandouglen Jericho Jaxx A lilac birman body just over four and a half years of age with lovely birman type. He was well built with well boned body, strong legs and balanced features. Strong head shape that was broad and rounded. Ears of medium size were set well on top. Beautiful eyes, large and almost fully round had good mid blue eye colour and with a lovely birman expression. A medium length nose had a slight dip in profile and a lilac nose leather. The cheeks were rounded and he had a firm slightly tapering chin and a level bite. A full lilac mask covered the face and was a pleasing pinkish grey shade that matched the ears and tail very well while the paws were a shade lighter. A lovely clear coat of magnolia white covered his frame and was soft and silky in texture. A short ruff framed his shoulders and he had a medium length bushy tail. Foot markings were a clean white with the gloves both somewhat low on the paw and with the left one slightly scalloped. Socks and gauntlets were matching and symmetrical. A very good natured boy with a lovely temperament who was well shown. AC Bi-Colour Ragdoll kitten 1 and BOB Kay s Pussycatdolls Cover Girl A six month old blue bicolour ragdoll with very pleasing type and good muscular body size and build. Legs were of medium height and were well boned with large rounded paws with tufts. Broad head with a flat plane between the ears which were of medium size and had well rounded tips and ear feathers. Large eyes that were set slightly oblique had good blue

4 eye colour and bright expression. The profile had a medium length nose that had a gentle dip with a slightly retrousee tip which was good to see and a pink nose leather. Cheeks were developing well and gave the face plenty of width. The chin was firm and the bite was level. The head had a symmetrical white inverted V from the forehead and down over the upper nose, muzzle and chin. The upper face, ears and tail were a blue grey shade and were well matching in colour. Her bib, chest and underside were pure white and she had four white paws with pink pads with the hind paws white right up to the body underside. She had a bushy long tail and a lovely silky coat that was very soft and clear bluish white. A short ruff was developing well and the coat was of medium length with knickerbockers starting to fill out slightly. A good natured sweet kitten who handled with ease. 2 Dinsdale s Dizzipaws Tutti Frutti A six month old seal bicolour neutered kitten who had a wide head with a flat plane and carrying medium size ears with short feathering and rounded tips. Her eyes were large and set well apart with lovely deep blue eye colour and slight oblique setting in the face. Her nose was of medium length and had a gentle curve without a retrousee tip and with a pink nose leather. The cheeks were still developing well and she had a firm balanced chin and a good level bite. A wide inverted white V ran from the forehead over nose, muzzle and chin and was symmetrical. The ears were a deep seal brown while the rest of the upper face was showing both dark seal and a lighter brown at present but the mask was developing well. The other points were paler in colour and her well furnished tail which was in proportion to the body length was slightly brindled at this time. The coat was white on her underside and all four paws were white with the hind ones white right up to the under body. Knickerbockers had yet to develop. The body was firm and well grown with medium height well boned legs and she was clothed in a lovely soft coat of beige with a short ruff and ending with fairly long fluffy tail. Happy kitten to be handled who was well presented. 3 Sallabanks and Busby s Sirona D Ancanto Rogue A tortie tabby and white girl who was also six months of age with good body size and weight. She had a firm body with well boned legs and a head with good width with a flat plane. Ears of medium size were placed well on top and well feathered and just rounded at the tips. Beautiful large eyes almost round and well opened were set slightly oblique and had lovely blue eye colour. The profile had a medium length nose that had a very shallow dip at the nasal bridge but lacked a retrousee tip. Her chin was firm and her bite was level with a firm muzzle and cheeks which were filling out still. Her mask was very pale making the inverted white V on her forehead, nose and chin very hard to see but it was present when examined carefully and found to be a thin and symmetrical shape on the forehead and widened over the nose and muzzle. The points had red on the upper face and especially on her ears. The right ear had a distinct seal brown spot at the ear base. A very clear coat of beige and shades of cream was silky soft and semi long, covering her frame. A short ruff present and a white body underside with four white paws. The hind paws were white right

5 up to the body underside. Knickerbockers had yet to develop. A long bushy tail tapered slightly towards the tip. Sweet natured girl who was easy to handle. AC Colourpointed or Mitted Ragdoll Kitten, Male 1 Scott s Adjulsl Bambi Blu A most attractive bluepoint boy who had excellent physique being well grown for his age of five months and set on strong well boned legs of medium height and with large rounded firm paws with short tufts. Strong head shape, broad and with a flat top between widely spaced ears of medium size with short feathering and sitting well with a forward tilt. Large eyes with a slightly oblique setting were placed far apart and had good blue eye colour and a lovely alert expression. The face had plenty of width with cheek bones developing well. The profile had a medium length nose which had a pleasing gentle curve but without a retrousee tip and with a blue nose leather. Muzzle well developed and the chin was firm and the bite was level. A well developed blue mask was already formed and matched the other points very well in tone. His coat was semi long with a short ruff forming over the shoulders and was a bluish white with some shadiness over the back but lighter on his chest and underside. Knickerbockers had yet to develop. His tail was long and well furnished. A very friendly boy who was delighted to be handled and admired and who was well presented. 2 Bird s Snowymountain Reuben-James A really lovely eight month old bluepoint kitten who competed strongly for the first placing as he has also got excellent physique being large, well developed boy with a muscular firm body and strong legs with good boning. He was a heavy boy with plenty of substance with a shapely well developed head having a flat plane between the medium size ears. They were very well sited on the head and had rounded tips. The mask was well formed already and of darkish blue grey shade which matched the ears perfectly although the other points were a paler. The nose had a gentle curve in profile and there was a firm muzzle, good width to the cheeks and a firm tapering chin. His eyes were of good size, set slightly oblique with mid blue eye colour that was a little paler than the winner of the class. His coat was semi long and had a lovely soft texture of bluish white and very clear with a short ruff and knickerbockers developing. The tail was long and bushy and much paler in tone. A lovely kitten who posed very well in his pen and was perfectly prepared for the show bench. 3 Davenport s Bryndley s Donnadolls Hot KoKo A lovely little chocolate kitten of four months of age who was up against the big boys and at a disadvantage but who has plenty going for him as I think he has good type and looks very promising. Will look forward to hearing about him in future. Shapely head with a flat top and carrying medium size ears that were round tipped and were of a pleasing chocolate shade and flaunting long ear feathers. The eyes were of large size, set slightly oblique and with super deep blue eye colour that was excellent. The nose had a gentle curve and a

6 chocolate nose leather but lacking a retrousee tip. The face width was developing well with a muzzle with very long whiskers and a firm balanced chin and a level bite. The mask was still developing and was a darker chocolate shade over his nose but paler around the periphery. The paws and tail were a good milk chocolate shade. A clear coat of ivory white covered his shapely body which was firm and had good boning with short rounded paws. The coat was silky soft and a ruff and knickerbockers had yet to develop. The tail was of a good length and was well feathered. A delightful baby who was happy to be handled and who was well shown. 4 Cowsill s O Kennedys Jazzragz Ferrero A four month old tabby who was listed in my judges book as a red point but on checking with the show manager I was informed that he was entered as a chocolate which did not agree with my view of him as I respectfully considered he was actually a lilacpoint. I suggest the owner watches the development of colour carefully in future to see how he develops further. All his points were a pinkish grey lilac shade and were very well matching. He had a shapely head with a flat top. Medium ears were sited well on the head and had well rounded ear tips with long pale ear feathers and showing clear thumb prints. The nose had a gentle dip in profile and a slight nose bump rounding off at the tip with a lilac nose leather. Large eyes were set slightly oblique and had acceptable blue eye colour and circled with pale spectacles. The muzzle had tabby spots and long whiskers. The chin was balanced and firm and he had a level bite. The mask was filling out and a short thick ruff was forming round his head and he had a soft pale medium length coat. His body was well grown and firm with good muscular legs and large rounded paws. A fluffy tail was in proportion to the body length. A gentle boy when handled. AC Colourpointed or Mitted Ragdoll Kitten, Female under 6 months. A lovely large class of kittens with very little to pick between them which made my task all the more difficult. 1 and BOB Scott s Adjulsl Little Miss A lovely four month old seal point girl with good type and who is developing very well. She had a firm body of good length for her age which was well muscled and set on strong sturdy legs with tufted paws. Head had a flat plane and good width between the medium size ears which were a pleasing seal brown shade and with round ear tips with short ear feathers. Slightly oblique set eyes had excellent deep blue eye colour and were set well apart and had a lovely expression. Her profile had a medium length nose with a pleasing curvy tilt in profile and a seal browns nose leather. Her face had good width and the cheeks were filling out.she had a firm slightly tapering chin with a level bite. A good seal brown mask covered most of her face already and matched all the other points very well. The coat had a short ruff framing her face and was a lovely beige colour and was silky soft in texture of medium

7 length and very clear. Her tail was long and well feathered. A delightful kitten with a very friendly outgoing nature that really won us over. Promising baby. 2 Bird s Sophistirags Dolly Mixture A five month old blue point baby with a firm solid body that was very well grown for her age with good boning and well muscled legs with large short tufted paws. Head had good breadth with a flat top and medium size ears sited well apart and with short feathering and rounded tips. Beautiful large eyes, set slightly oblique and with fairly dark blue eye colour and lovely expression. Her nose had a clear gentle curve in profile but lacked a retrousee tip. The cheeks were still filling out and developing fullness and she had a firm chin with a level bite. Her blue grey mask was of a very pleasing heart shape and was almost covering her face fully at this stage and matched the ears and other points very well. Her coat was bluish white and very clear of any shadiness. It was of a soft silky texture and was perfectly prepared. The ruff was starting to develop and she had no knickerbockers as yet. The tail was long and in proportion to the body length and was fluffy and tapering towards the tip. A very pretty girl who was very friendly and who was well shown. 3 Adjulsl Marvelcats Jeangrey Another five month old bluepoint girl who was large in size and of a good weight for her age. Fair width of head which had a flat top and medium ears that were sitting a little proud at present with rounded tips. Good cheek width with muzzle developing well. Balanced tapering chin and a level bite. The nose was of medium length with the dip very gentle and lacked a retrousee tip. Beautiful large eyes were set slightly oblique and had stunning deep blue colour. Her body was well muscled with strong legs and large rounded paws. The tail was in proportion to the body length and was well furnished. Her mask was almost covering the face and developing well, of a bluish grey shade, which matched all the other points well. A soft silky coat of glacial white covered her frame and was very clear with a short ruff and knickerbockers to develop still. Gentle kitten with good show manners. 4 Scott s Adjulsl Luna-Mae A very cute blue mitted tabby kitten of four months with good body and head conformation that was firm and showing very good tabby markings visible on her forehead and bracelets on her legs. She had a shapely head with a flat plane on top. The ears were of medium size and set well apart, well furnished but sitting just a little proud at this time and needing to settle. Lovely large eyes with wonderful deep blue colour were circled with pale spectacles and set slightly oblique. Profile had a very gentle curve in the medium length nose with a pink nose leather outlined with pigment. The cheeks were filling out and she had a spotted muzzle. The chin was firm and the bite was level. All four paws were white with the white socks running up to the body underside which was also white. Her mask was forming well and legs had tabby pattern visible. A fluffy tail also had a hint of tabby rings while her coat

8 was a little short and was lacking a ruff and knickerbockers at present and was bluish white. A very sweet baby who was lovely to handle. Not placed Kenyon s Bonnyhale Gosha well grown Sealpoint baby of five months of age. Broad head with well placed ears of medium size with long ear feathers and set well apart on the skull. Large eyes had good blue eye colour and were set well apart with an oblique setting. Her nose was of medium length with a slight dip in profile and a seal brown nose leather. The cheeks were still filling out but her face appeared a little triangular in shape while the chin was deep and firm and the bite was level. Body was firm and the legs were sturdy. Her mask was a dark seal brown which matched the ears perfectly but her legs and tail were paler brown. A short ruff framed her face and she had a clear soft silky coat of beige, and a fluffy long tail. A relaxed kitten who handled easily. Bird s Sophistirags Bluebelle A five month old blue point girl who was a good size for her age. She had a broad head width with a flat plane and medium ears sited far apart, that were round tipped with short ear feathers. Beautiful large eyes with mid blue eye colour and a slight oblique setting. The nose had a very gentle curve and the cheeks needed to fill out more with a firm chin and a level bite. Body was of a good size for her age, firm and well boned with strong legs and rounded paws. The mask was forming well and almost covered the face but all the points had a brownish tinge rather than being a blue grey shade alone. The ears were darker than the other points which were matching and the coat was of medium length of a glacial white and very clear, soft and silky in texture. The tail was long and fluffy. Good natured kitten when handled. AC Colourpointed or Mitted Ragdoll Kitten, Female 6 months and older 1 Scott s Adjulsl Portofinon Belle A most attractive bluepoint girl with good type who did not handle well at all and was lucky to get this award from me as she was in a bad humour! She was eight months old and had a firm well grown body shape that was well muscled with good boning in the legs and with rounded paws, Broad head with a flat plane and carrying medium size ears with short ear feathers that were wide set. Oblique set eyes were of large size and had good blue eye colour. Her profile had a medium length nose that had a very shallow curve, just a little straight and lacking a retrousee tip. The cheeks were wide and she had a firm chin but her bite was not seen as we treasured our fingers! She had a full mask of blue grey which matched the ears and other points well. The legs and tail appeared a little tarnished possibly

9 due to the litter being used. Her coat was soft and clear of glacial white with a short ruff and knckerbockers forming. A fluffy tail completed the picture.
