1 JOANNE SEGGIE COVENTRY AND LEICESTER CAT CLUB 24 FEBRUARY 2018 Thank you to Lesley and Georgina for inviting me to judge at their lovely show - it s always a nice show with a lovely friendly atmosphere and a great lunch. Thank you also to my lovely friend Nicola Hutchinson for stewarding for me - we had a lovely day together and she handles the cats beautifully, I did have to prize a couple out of her hands! The show hall here is quite big and open which seemed to make some of the cats, particularly the babies, feel a little nervous but largely with a bit of cuddling and reassurance they relaxed and began to enjoy their day. Black Kitten 1 st and BOB Bujalska-Axon s Delphinium Arabian-Knight - BSH n M 09/09/17 A good round head with some roundness coming to his cheeks with a level bite, he was teething today and looked like he felt a little uncomfortable with his double canines, we ensured that he had plenty of cuddles to help him feel better, his chin is just a little weak at the moment, he has a short, broad and straight nose with a good nose break, his ears are well set but could be just a touch smaller for perfection, they are well covered with fur on the outer ear and not excessive on the inner ear, he has lovely round, well opened eyes and his eye colour is starting to come in, currently they still muddy brown in colour as you would expect at his age. He has a lovely cobby body and is a good weight and size for his age, he s low on his legs with a short, level back and a good deep chest and stands on strong legs and paws, he has a thick tail that tapers at the tip and is a medium length which is well proportioned to his body. His coat is a lovely texture and density, it s just a touch long at the moment, the coat is a rich jet black and largely sound. He enjoyed his cuddles with us today, a super young boy. Lilac Kitten This class was a very difficult one today with two very nice young ladies. 1 st and BOB Schalbetter s Schalikatz Rosie Carver - BSH c F 04/06/17 This girl had a nicely rounded head with rounded cheeks, a short, broad and straight nose with a nice, balanced nose break, she has a level bite and a firm chin, her ears are medium in size and are set well into the contours of her head, she has round, well opened eyes which are deep gold in colour. She is a good size and weight for her age, showing a cobby and weighty body that sits on four strong legs and round, firm paws with a tail that balances to her body and tapers to the tip. She has good coat density which is slightly long for perfection and her lilac is a little cool toned. A very nice girl. 2 nd Collin's Aureus Opalescence - BSH c F 18/10/07 A lovely little girl of four months and six days, she had a round face with some cheek development level bite with a firm chin, her nose was short, broad and straight, her ears could have been just touch smaller for perfection which were well set into the contours of her head, she had beautiful deep gold eyes that were well rounded and open, she had a little staining to the fur under her eyes today, she was a nice weight and size for her age with a cobby body, low on her legs with a short level back and stocky, four strong legs which sat on rounded paws, her tail was a good length and balanced well to her body, tapering at the tip. Her coat showed good density which was just a touch long for perfection coat, her lilac was pale but again for perfection I would just have liked it a touch pinker. It is quite a big, open and noisy show hall and she was a little nervous when we got to her but she settled really well after some cuddles, really sweet and very nice little girl. 1
2 Blue Kitten Male 1 st and BOB Schalbetter s Schalikatz Disco Volante - BSH a M 25/06/17 Round head with full cheeks with a short, broad and straight nose, his chin is a little weak but he has a level bite, medium ears which could be set a little lower into the contours of his head, they are well furnished with fur, both inside and out, he has well opened eyes that could be a little rounder for perfection and are an attractive deep gold colour. He is a well grown boy of a good size and weight for his age, he has a good degree of cobbiness, sitting low on four strong legs and rounded paws with a medium length tail that is rounded to the tip. His coat is a mid blue in colour and is a good length with density too it and some crispness coming, it is sound to the roots, a boy that is coming along nicely. 2 nd Bujalska-Axon s Delphinium Blue Rocket - BSH a M 09/09/17 Good top of head, round face and some cheek development coming along, he looks a little jowly at present rather than rounded cheeks, he has a short, broad and straight nose with a nice nose break and a deep, firm chin with a level bite, his eyes are a little oval in shape to the outsides and are of a good copper colour, they could be a little bigger for perfection. He is a nice size and weight for his age, a strong boy with a short, level back and sitting low on his legs and rounded paws, his tail is a good length and balanced to his body with some ghost ringing to it and a rounded tip. He is a darker shade of blue with a short, dense coat that is already showing some crispness, a nice boy. Blue Kitten Female 1 st Cooper s Khancoban Ava Gardner - BSH a F 26/06/17 Round face with round cheeks she has a firm chin with a bite that is rather untidy, a short, broad and straight nose and round eyes which are a pale gold colour, she has medium sized ears which are set well into the contours of her head but quite wide at the base at the moment a nice size and weight for her age, a cobby body which sits on strong legs and paws with a good balanced length of tail which tapers to the tip. She has a nice short coat which has a good degree of density to it and her coat is a mid blue colour which is quite sound. This girl had something sticky in her fur today; I had this checked and it appeared to be spot on flea treatment. She was a little nervous today but again the hall is very large and open which I think can be a little daunting for the young babies. Cream Kitten 1 st and BOB Lee s Sewnsew Cream Cracker - BSH e M 29/09/17 A round head with some cheek development coming, he has a short, broad and straight nose that is neither too pronounced nor too shallow, currently he has rather large ears, however they are well set into the contours of his head, he has rather long ear tips which exaggerate the ears further and make them look larger, he has a level bite and a good firm chin, his eyes are well opened and rounded and show a good deep copper colour. A good cobby body that stands on for strong legs and round paws, his tail is a good length for his body size and tapers to the tip. His coat is a good short length but is lacking in density and crispness at the moment, he is a cream boy, today his cream was fairly dark and it appears to have a metallic sheen over the top of it, he has some tabby markings to his legs, tail and face but his back is clear of markings and his coat is largely sound. Black, Chocolate or Cinnamon Tortie Kitten 1 st and BOB Murphy s Xzibit Ecclefechan - BSH f F 06/08/17 Round head with nice rounded cheeks she has a short straight and broad road nose with a level bite and firm chin with ears that are a medium size and are well set into the contours of her head, her ears are well furnished with fur on the outside and not excessive inside, she has good round eyes which are of a deep gold colour. She is a cobby girl, showing good body development for her age and 2
3 is well balanced and a good weight for her size with a medium tail that is rounded at the tip. Her coat is a mixture of rich red and jet black which is really well mingled all four of her large, strong paws are broken with both colours, she is an attractive girl who was rather nervous today and was trembling in her pen, her claws were rather long which didn t help when handling her. Black Silver Tabby Kitten 1 st and BOB Hall s Catykes Super Sammyson - BSH ns 22 M 09/07/17 A lovely round head with full rounded cheeks he has a broad, short and straight nose his eyes are just a touch off round today but really well opened and hazel in colour with green to the centre, his ears are a touch large and a little flared at the base but are well set into the contours of his head, I really liked the type on this boy today, already a large boy showing a really good degree of British cobbiness, strong body, low on legs with a short, level back on strong legs and round paws, medium tail, tapered to the tip. He s a jet black colour with mid-silver his coat is a good length and texture he has a symmetrical butterfly that sits on his shoulders and unbroken spine line and oysters on either side that don t quite match he s got necklaces to his chest his ears are slightly large and flared at the base. Lovely type and a nice boy all round. 2 nd Cooper s Khancoban Silver Jackson - BSH ns 22 M 14/06/17 This boy was very nervous today and took some coaxing to get out of his pen; my steward spent some time talking to him to get him to relax a little and he was then happier to come out. Round face not a great deal of cheek development at the moment straight, broad nose, his ears were rather large and flared at the base and they sat quite high on his head, his eyes were round and well opened, hazel in colour with a green rim coming to the centre. A good size and weight for his age just a little long in body rather than four square, his coat is a little long but has quite good density to it today, in colour he is jet black and pale silver with a symmetrical butterfly on his shoulders and broken spine line matching oysters on both of his sides, necklaces to his chest and rings to his tail. 3 rd Watkin s Scarlett-Rose Chester - BSH ns 22 MN 06/07/17 This boy wasn t showing a lot of British type today, he had more of wedge shaped than round he had a level bite with a firm chin, his nose was quite long and very wide and his eyes were more oval than they were round there a good hazel colour with some green coming to the centre, his ears were rather large in size and flared at the base and were set high on the top of his head he was rather long and tall in his body and lacking in being cobby. His coat was a little long and had a little density to it, he showed a lovely pattern which was very clear, his colouring was jet black and mid silver he had a symmetrical butterfly on his shoulders, an unbroken spine line with matching lines following it on either side and very well matched pretty oysters his tail was a good length and tapered to the tip, it however didn t show clear rings and he had a little tarnishing on his nose, a sweet boy who handled well. AC Colourpointed Kitten Chilcott s Hanomia Stormy Weather - BSH c F 06/06/17 Round face with some cheek development showing currently, she has a short, broad and straight nose with a firm chin and level bite and medium sized ears that are a little flared at the base but fit well into the contours of her head, they are well furnished with fur on the outside and not excessive on the inner ear, she has well opened and round eyes, they are just a very pale blue in colour. She has a nice, cobby body with a level back sitting low on her four strong legs and rounded paws, her tail balances well to her body size and is rounded at the tip, she is a nice size and weight for her age. Her coat is a little long with some density in it, it is kitten soft at the moment, she is a nice pale lilac for perfection she could be more pink in tone, she shows a nice contrast between her magnolia 3
4 white body colour and her points and has the matching tabby markings in her colouring. A sweet girl that handled well today. Tipped Kitten 1 st and BOB Daly and White s Windersfayre White Satin - BSH ns 12 F 10/06/17 Round head with cheeks coming along nicely, she has a firm chin with a level bite and a short, straight and broad nose, she has small ears that are well set into the contours of her head and well furnished with fur, she has lovely well rounded and very pretty green eyes with clear black mascara around them. She s a well grown girl, showing a nice size and weight for her age she s got a cobby body on strong legs and paws, she is however just a little rangy in looks today, she is a youngster though, her coat is a little long but has got really good density to it and her coat shows a good even degree of tipping right across including on her tail which is of medium length and tapered to the tip she has medium ears. A lovely girl. Any Variety British Junior Adult Female 1st Kidd s Wellmar Moonbeam - BSH c 24 F 18/04/17 Round head with full cheeks, a short broad and straight nose with a firm chin and level bite, round, well opened gold eyes and medium sized ears which were well set into the contours of her head, she had a cobby body and was a good weight and size for her age, she had a short, dense coat that was showing some crispness today, I felt that she was a cool toned lilac and I would have liked to have seen her colouring a little bit warmer and more pink toned for perfect, she had some nice spotting but her spotting was showing some linkage at the moment, a really nice girl. 2 nd Murphy s Beaubrits Chiquitita -BSH g F 02/05/17 Round face with well rounded cheeks, a short, broad and straight nose with a level bite and firm chin, she has round, well opened eyes which are pale gold in colour with medium ears which are set a little high on her head but fit well into the contours of her head and well furnished with fur.
