THE COMBINED NORTH OF BRITAIN LH & SLH CAT CLUB; BLACK, RED SELF AND TORTOISESHELL & TORTIE & WHITE & BICOLOUR CAT CLUBS SHOWS MRS ANNE GREGORY I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Sheffield and would like to thank Linda Dutton, Lesley Muffitt and their teams for the luxury of being met at and returned to the station, the warm, friendly hospitality and an excellent day s judging some gorgeous cats. I was also most grateful to and must thank my excellent steward Daniel Goodricke for his hard work and expertise with the cats across the breeds. I look forward to another day working together. OLYMPIAN ADULT, MALE 1 OLY MLYNEK & HAYWARD S IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION LACHMERE KEIKO, 13c7, M, This male was looking mature and handsome. He is of excellent type and quality with a soft, gentle expression and the confidence and temperament to show himself to great advantage. His head had breadth and balance with rounded contours and medium sized ears set well apart. The eyes were large, almost round and a beautiful blue. There was a slight dip to the profile. The cheeks were full and rounded and the muzzle well-developed. He had a good chin. The body was long and muscular with well-boned legs and tufted paws. The tail balanced well. He had a silky coat that was perfectly presented. The cream was soft and powdery in tone and there was good contrast. His snow white gloves and gauntlets were well defined. He had super personality and well deserved this high accolade. 2 (RES WH/H) WHITE S IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION SORRENTINA KNIGHT IN WHITESATIN, 2a, M, A young male that was lacking breadth to the head and needed more width at the cheeks. His ears were neat, well-furnished and spaced well apart. His eyes were large, round and set well apart. They were an excellent copper tone. The nose was short and broad, with a stop. The cheeks were rounded but when the fur was smoothed back, the breadth was lacking. Fair chin and muzzle. He was a good size and of cobby type with strong legs and a short, bushy tail. The coat was long and thick. It was fine and soft but there were some grooming issues particularly around the ears. He had an excellent temperament and was in good condition but not really of the quality I would expect at this level. I also considered exhibit 25 but although he was of excellent type, size and substance with beautiful eyes, he was a dark, slate blue and there was invasion from the white patches into the blue which I would not expect at this level. I think at Olympian Level the cat has to be virtually perfect in type, temperament and presentation. AC PERSIAN IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION, MALE 1 IGC CASE S GRAND CHAMPION GEMKIN CUPID S BEAU, 12a2t, M, A handsome young male who was so handsome and presented to perfection; his head had breadth of skull with width at the cheeks and a well-developed muzzle. His nose was short and broad with a well-formed leather and a stop. The forehead was nicely rounded. The chin was good. He had beautiful eyes that were large, full and round, spaced well apart and with an excellent bold, confident expression. He was cobby, muscular and strong with excellent boning and stood low on short, strong legs with large, rounded, tufted paws. The short, bushy tail balanced well. He had a
superb, fine, soft coat that stood well away from the body with a pleasing frill to frame the face. There were blue tabby patches to the head, a small patch on the body and a tabby tail. The white was pristine. He was in excellent condition and was very confident of his quality. RES: WALL S GRAND CHAMPION SHEERBLISS MR DARCY, 70 12a2, M, This male looked better when he was back, relaxed in his pen as he was not as assured when on the table. He had excellent type and quality with beautiful, expressive copper eyes. The head was broad and well-rounded with full cheeks and muzzle. He had a short, broad nose with a stop but the leather could have been larger although the nostrils were well formed. He had an excellent body, legs and tail. The coat was of excellent quality and stood away well from the body although the blue patches were not sound. He was beautifully presented and sweet tempered but not such a showman as my winner. AV SLH IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER, MALE 1 IGP HOLDEN S GRAND PREMIER WISCASSET JAK FROST, 64 14b, MN, A mature, solid and impressive looking male of excellent type and quality; his head was of medium length with a firm, square muzzle and a good chin. His ears were large and well-furnished, set high on his head but with ample width between giving him a really alert look. His eye were large and expressive with an oblique setting. He had a good profile and a nose of uniform width. The body was long and rectangular with excellent muscle tone and strength. His legs were substantial with large, tufted toes. The long tail balanced well. He had an excellent coat that was pristine, reflecting the care that had gone into his preparation and preparation. He was shown in excellent condition and had a wonderful temperament. RES: BURGESS GRAND PREMIER COONARIA EL CAPITAIN, 64 41, MN, Another handsome cat of very good type and quality with a strong head and excellent profile. The ears were set tall, they were large and well furnished. He had expressive eyes of the correct shape and set. The muzzle was square and he had high cheekbones and fairly full cheeks to set it off. He was long, muscular and substantial with very good legs and tail. The coat was of excellent quality with a lovely glossy top coat. The classic pattern was well defined. He was shown in excellent condition and had a lovely temperament. AC BRITISH OR SELKIRK REX IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION, FEMALE 1 IGC BROWN S GRAND CHAMPION KOLINGA MIU MIU, 16, F, An attractive queen with excellent muscle and boning of cobby type; her head showed breadth of skull with a round face and full cheeks. Her neat ears were rounded at the tips and spaced well apart in the contours of the head. She had well-opened, round eyes of excellent deep orange colour that were very expressive. Her cheeks were full and she had a nicely rounded muzzle. Her body was a fraction long but strong and muscular and she stood low on sturdy legs. The tail balanced well. Her coat was short and dense but a little soft although it stood away from the body well, cracking at the shoulders. She was an excellent medium blue. She was well shown and had an excellent, confident temperament.
WHITE (ORANGE-EYED) PERSIAN ADULT BOB NICHOLAS GRAND CHAMPION GEMKIN STARWIND, 2a, M, A stunning cat of supreme quality and type who was shown to perfection.. it was a privilege and great pleasure to handle and judge him. 1 CC HOLLOWAY & GRIBBEN S LAFRABELLA MASSIMO, 2a, M, A handsome cat of good type and balance overall. He needs more time to fulfil his promise but there is potential apparent. The head had breadth with width at the cheeks and a reasonably strong muzzle. The forehead was rounded. He had a short, broad nose with a stop and a reasonably good leather. The eyes were large, full and round with a bold expression. He had very good eye colour. He was cobby and muscular with promising boning. The coat was soft, fine and full of life. He was beautifully presented and was immaculate. I also considered the male placed second in my Olympian Class for the BOB award and Stewart s GRAND CHAMPION BARLEYFIELDS SNOW-FAIRY, 2a, F, She is a beautiful female of excellent type and quality, groomed to perfection and very unlucky to meet the winner on the day. USUAL SOMALI ADULT BOB HINES GRAND CHAMPION TILSIM DAN VINCENTVAN GOGH, 63, M, A mature male with a confident, friendly temperament who was shown in excellent condition. He had a medium wedge with curving contours but was rather narrow in the muzzle for me which meant he did not have the generous Somali smile. His ears were large, well-cupped, furnished and tufted. They were set well apart but not low. He had expressive, almond shaped eyes with a slightly oblique setting. His profile showed a slight dip and he had a reasonable chin. His body was of medium size, lithe and muscular with slender legs and tufted paws. His tail was a good length and formed a brush. He had a soft, fine coat that lay flat along the spine. The base colour was a dark apricot with well-defined black ticking. He had well-defined facial markings and I loved his black heels to the hock. He was shown in excellent condition and had a lovely temperament. NORWEGIAN FOREST ADULT, MALE 1CC + BOB TUCKER S TIGANLEA EARL XYLANDER, 67 20a, M, A young male with an excellent temperament and a great deal of potential in my opinion. He had a triangular head with large ears set high to follow the lines of the head. The ears were very well furnished. He had an excellent long, straight profile with a slightly rounded forehead. The chin was good. He was a lovely size for his age and well-built but elegant. He was deep in the chest and stood high on well boned legs with the back legs slightly longer, giving him the correct stance. His tail was long and bushy. He had an excellent coat texture with the top coat smooth with the correct, slightly coarse but glossy feel over a woolly undercoat. He was shown in excellent condition and had a friendly, affectionate temperament.
I also considered Exhibit 68 for the BOB award but felt although he had a superb woolly undercoat, his top coat needs to develop. Also I thought his eyes marginally straight set which spoiled his expression. NORWEGIAN FOREST ADULT, FEMALE 1 CC GRANT S NOYNAROCK ELANOR, 67 31, F, A very pleasing young female, only just an adult but of excellent type with great potential and a proud expression; she had a triangular head with large ears showing width at the base. They were placed high and were set open to continue the lines of the wedge and were well furnished. She had an excellent profile and large, oval eyes with an oblique setting and she was full of personality and interested in everything around her. She had a well-grown body with solid muscle tone, strong legs and large, round, tufted paws. Her tail was a good length and balanced well. Her double coat had a woolly undercoat and a glossy, slightly coarse top coat. She was shown in excellent condition and had a wonderful temperament. 2 CARTER S KAJULAZ ULA, 67 31at, F, 67 31at, F, Another pleasing young female of very good type and balance overall; she had a good triangular head with well-set ears and a long, straight profile with a curve at the brow. She tended to open her eyes a little wide when she was being judged on the trolley but they were excellent when she relaxed back in the pen. She has promising size, muscle tone and boning but is also elegant. Her coat was double and felt really good. She was shown in excellent condition and had a super temperament. 3 GIBSON S SNOWROCK TYNAN, 67 31ats, F, An attractive female with the most beautiful coat texture but I felt her triangular head was slightly short for balance and her chin sloped away. She had excellent oval eyes in an oblique setting that were most expressive. Her body was muscular and strong and she had very good substance but was also stylish and elegant. She was well shown in sparkling condition. I also considered the titled females for the BOB award but felt, on the day, the young male had the edge for type, style and showmanship. USUAL SOMALI NEUTER 1 PR + BOB HINES STACYM YUM YUM, 63, MN, A young male neuter who really needs time as he appeared rather narrow in the muzzle but he was in excellent condition and had an affectionate and confident personality. The head formed a medium wedge with curving contours. His ears were large, well-furnished and well-cupped. They were set well apart but not low. His profile was a little straight but he had a reasonable chin. His eyes were almond shaped with an oblique setting and they were really expressive. He had a muscular body with slender legs and a good brush. His coat was very fine and soft in texture. He was a dark apricot, well-ticked with black. His facial markings were very attractive and he had black heels to the hock.
MAINE COON ADULT, MALE 1 CC + BOB BLADES BIG-HANNIBAL S SIMPLEY RED, 64 15d, M, A young male who was impressive for his tender age and who has promise in my opinion. He had a medium length head with a good, square muzzle and large ears, tufted and furnished, that were set tall giving him an excellent alert look. He had a good profile and the chin had depth. His eyes were well opened and round with an oblique setting, giving him a typical expression. He had a rectangular body with solid muscle tone that felt good. The legs had substantial boning and he had large, round, tufted paws. The tail was profuse and balanced well. He had a very good coat texture with short fur across the shoulders and it fringed longer down the sides with a shaggy effect on the stomach. He was a rich red. He was shown in excellent condition and I loved his friendly, confident temperament. MAINE COON ADULT, FEMALE 1 CC HAYNES ALISIKA DAIRYMAINE KALINKA, 64 31, F, A very attractive female who was well marked in jet black against a pristine white she looked really smart! Her head was of medium length with a firm, square muzzle. Her cheeks were rounded and she had high cheekbones which, together with the markings, emphasised the muzzle. She had an excellent profile and good depth to the chin. She was long with a rectangular body showing good muscle tone and substance. Her legs were strong and she had large, tufted paws. The tail balanced well. She had excellent coat and coat quality. She was shown in excellent condition and had a super temperament too. BRITISH BLACK ADULT BOB FISHER S OLYMPIAN SILVER & IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION XZIBIT CHICAGO, 15, M, A handsome, compact, cobby and strong male of exceptional type and quality who was shown to perfection and who has the most superb temperament. A privilege and a pleasure to judge. BRITISH BLUE ADULT BOB BROWN S GRAND CHAMPION KOLINGA MIU MIU, 16, F, I also considered BROWN S CHAMPION KOLINGA DANTE GABRIEL, 16, M, for the BOB award. He had very good type and appearance but I felt the head had jowls which, when they were smoothed, showed his skull was not as broad as first sight suggested. He had a dense coat but it was a little soft in texture with silver tipping apparent. BRITISH CREAM ADULT, MALE 1 CC + BOB KELLY S STEPHADRI TOP GUN, M, This male was young and looked slightly immature for eleven months but was just worthy of the certificate on the day. His head had breadth with full cheeks. He had a short, broad nose of uniform width but his chin was rather weak. His eyes were full and round; they were well-opened and an excellent copper tone. He had a compact body that felt solid and muscular. He stood low on sturdy
legs with round paws. The tail balanced well. He had a short, dense, crisp coat that was a good, powdery cream tone. He was shown in excellent condition and had an excellent temperament too. BRITISH CREAM ADULT, FEMALE 1 CC FISHER S KOLINGA MARZIPAN DREAMS, 17, F, This female looked younger than her age. She had breadth of head with full cheeks and neat ears set well apart in the rounded contours of her face. She had beautiful eyes that were a deep orange in tone. She had a short, broad nose of uniform width but I would like to see a firmer chin. She had a compact, cobby body but could have more substance. Her coat was short, dense and a good cream but a little soft to the touch. She was in good condition and had a sweet temperament. BI-COLOUR KITTEN 1 + BOB BEARD-SMITH S SHINYFARY CHARLOTTES WEBB, 31a, F, A stunning kitten who was strong and cobby with an excellent broad head and round face with full cheeks. Her neat little ears were rounded at the tips and set well apart in the rounded contours of her head. She had a short, broad nose and lovely depth to the chin. Her body was compact and solid with excellent muscle tone and depth of chest. She stood low on sturdy little legs with close, round paws. The tail balanced well and was rounded at the tip. She had a promising dense coat that was short and crisp to the touch. The blue was an attractive tone and the white pristine with welldefined separation. I think she was coming up to fifty/fifty balance but was within the limit. She was beautifully presented in excellent condition with a friendly, confident personality and I think she has a great deal of potential. BLUE-CREAM BRITISH FEMALE NEUTER BOB CHANDLER S UK & IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER KOLINGA BLUEBELLA, 28, F, A very attractive female of excellent type and quality; her eyes were a little pale but the hall light did tend to drain the colour. She had a lovely balance of blue intermingled with cream. She was shown in excellent condition and was a little shy but sweet natured. AC SELKIRK REX NEUTER BOB CREATON & WALKER S IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER CRINKLES JACK FROST,79L 15d, MN, A handsome Selkirk of excellent type and quality; he has a good coat with random, unstructured curls and waves and his ruff is developing! I also considered ARMSTRONG S PREMIER ORRIANA UNCLE BULGARIA, 79s 17, MN, He was a handsome cat with an excellent personality but I would prefer more width at the cheeks and his coat, although very well waved, was a little coarse in texture. I thought CREATON & WALKER S GRAND CHAMPION AND GRAND PREMIER CRINKLES FORGET ME NOT, 79L 21, FN, had an excellent curly coat but I would like more width at the cheeks (when the cheek fur is smoothed back, the breadth is not there), and she has a weak chin.
