BOBCATS/ CAMCATS/ BOMBAY & ASIAN SHOWS, 30 MARCH 2019 Judge: Ms Elisabeth Stark My thanks to Sally Tokens and her team for the invitation to judge, and for the excellent hospitality on the day. Thanks also to my steward Anne Vanns who again looked after both me and the exhibits so very well here s to the next time Anne. BUCKS, OXON & BERKS CAT SOCIETY BOBCATS SECTION 4 RUSSIAN BLUE ADULT Male Considered for BoB: Cooper s Ch Sithee Flying Solo (RUS a), M, I had lots of cat with super temperaments today, but this 2 year old boy still topped them all he purred and cuddled in, and insisted on giving me a quick wash and brush up between cuddles just adorable. He must be a joy to live with! He is a handsome lad with quite a short wedge, good whisker pads when he remembers to show them, and green almond-shaped eyes with a lovely gentle expression. His ears could be bigger, and he wasn t interested in putting them up properly for me today. He has an angle in profile, but needs a touch more concave curve: his bite is fine. He isn t a huge cat, but has excellent proportionate build with lovely long legs, small oval paws and super shape and length to his tail. He has a lovely coat, short, fine, soft and dense and a good mid-blue colour with silvery sheen evident throughout. What a sweetheart - I could have played with him all day! Female BoB Bandy s Gr Ch Troika Bylina (RUS a), F, A stunning lady. She has a lovely short wedge with excellent prominent whisker pads, superb ears that are large, very well-shaped and held beautifully upright. Her eyes are a lovely shade of green, very well-shaped and so expressive. She has a gorgeous profile with a clear angle, slight concave curve and a short, straight nose, plus level bite and chin. Her coat is an excellent texture, short, fine, soft and really dense in texture. It is a darker shade of blue, slightly unsound, with excellent clear silvery sheen. She has super overall graceful build, with elegant legs and lovely little oval paws, plus a medium long tail. A sweet and gentle lady. 1 st & CC Bandy s Troika Chastushka (RUS a), F, Only just 10 months old, but already looking very stylish. She has super large ears that are beautifully set and shaped, with little tufts at the tips emphasising their excellent shape. She has lovely almond-shaped green eyes set on a good slant and has good prominent whisker pads on her medium short wedge, which could just be a bit broader. In profile she shows an angle, and very slight concave curve, a straight Page 1 of 8
nose and level bite. Overall, she has a lovely expression. She has a very good short, dense, fine coat and medium blue with excellent silvery sheen. She is an excellent size and weight for her age, with lovely long legs, oval paws and an excellent tail. THAI BLUE/LILAC POINT OR THAI LILAC NEUTER FEMALE BoB Hillier-Kidston s IGr Pr Jusarka Daydream Believer (TAI a 33), FN, A really lovely blue point Thai lady showing excellent overall type with a lovely heartshaped face and really super large, luminous, clear blue eyes. Her ears are wellshaped and very well set, giving a good alert look. She has a good profile and a level bite. She has an excellent single coat with her dark blue points showing silver tipping and clear contrast to her body colour, which shows some blue shading over her back. Excellent build with a semi-cobby body, lovely neat little oval paws and a well-shaped tail that really is medium in length! She was very grumbly today but that didn t take away from her beauty in the slightest. BOBCATS - SECTION 5 ASIAN TABBY NEUTER FEMALE 1 st PC & BoB Winterbourn s Elliechlo Penaluna Tandi (ASH h 25 31), FN, A 17 month old Burmese expression chocolate tortie ticked tabby girl. She has quite a short wedge that tapers to a blunt ended muzzle. She has good medium size ears that are well-shaped, but could have a bit more space between them In profile she shows a nose break, level bite and good chin. She has large hazel green eyes that are set well with a good curve to the lower contour, although the top line could be straighter. She is a lovely big girl with super build, excellent shape to her long tail, excellent legs and small oval paws. Her short, fine coat, shows well-intermingled shades of warm chocolate and red, although her ticking could be more apparent. She has good colour on her hocks, and a chocolate tail tip. She also has good facial markings with a distinct tortied M on her forehead, clear pencilling on her cheeks, a broken necklace, and thumb prints on her ears. She was happier in her pen, but handled well. BOBCATS - MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES AV SECTION 4 ADULT NOT WON A CC 1 st Greatorex s Linczozo Lima Oscar (ABY c), M, A lovely young lilac Abyssinian boy with gorgeous type and temperament. His head shows excellent gently rounded contours, tapering to his slightly rounded muzzle with a good slight indentation. He has a good profile with a slight nose break, Page 2 of 8
straight nose and firm chin. His large, cupped ears are set wide apart and follow the contours of his head. He has rounded almond shaped eyes that are quite large, expressive and set well apart in an oriental setting: they are a golden hazel in colour. He is a medium sized cat, lithe and muscular with slender proportionate legs and oval paws, and a lovely tail with a thick base tapering nicely and long enough to reach his shoulders. His short, fine dense coat lies close to his body and shows distinct ticking in a lovely pinky dove-grey colour although with rather a pale undercoat. He has excellent facial markings and is well coloured all the way up, including his chin. He shows slight chest smudges. Adorable boy! 2 nd Bandy s Troika Chastushka (RUS a), F, My Challenge certificate winning Russian Blue girl. AV SECTION 4 RADIUS ADULT 1 st Bandy s Gr Ch Troika Bylina (RUS a), F, My lovely Best of Breed Russian Blue adult. AV SECTION 4 KITTEN 1 st Greatorex s Quapaw Caravelle (ABY q), F, A 5½ month old sorrel tortie Abyssinian. She has very good overall type, showing good gently rounded head contours, a moderate wedge and a slightly rounded muzzle with a good slight indentation. She has a super profile with an excellent slight nose break, straight nose and firm chin. Her ears are an excellent shape, large, well-cupped and pricked and set quite wide apart she even has a hint of ear tufts! She has lovely expressive hazel-coloured eyes that are quite large, set well apart and are a good rounded almond shape in an oriental setting. She is a good size for her age with a lovely lithe medium length body, elegant legs, small oval feet and a balancing tail that tapers from a thick base. Her coat is short and fine, still a bit baby-soft, but with density and nicely close-lying. She shows good distinct ticking and is a secret tortie with sorrel and red very intermingled. I spotted two tortied toe pads and her right hock shows half sorrel, half red her left hock is all sorrel. She has good facial markings with lines from the inner edge of the eye to the top of her head, and from the outer edge of the eye towards the ear. Her ears are darker at the tips, and she has one well-broken necklace, and no leg bars evident. She does have white on her chin and pale fur extending down her neck a bit: I wouldn t want to see it extend any further. A very promising baby, relaxed and sweet. AV SECTION 4 RADIUS KITTEN 1 st Bandy s Troika Alyosha Popovich (RUS a), M, A Russian Blue boy, coming up for 8 months now. He has quite a short wedge with good prominent whisker pads, and well-set and shaped ears. He has some angle in profile and a very slight concave curve and a good level bite. His lovely expressive almond-shaped green eyes are set very well. He has excellent texture coat overall, just slightly flatter on his back, fine, short and quite soft. He is well-grown and has Page 3 of 8
graceful build, with long legs, oval paws and a slightly thick tapering tail. Adorable boy, I loved his dopey expression! AV SECTION 4 NOVICE NEUTER 1 st Irwing s Adjulfo Rama (TOY), MN, A very handsome Toyger boy, 2 years and 4 months old. He has excellent overall type with a good broad medium wedge and well-shaped and set ears. He has a well-define muzzle and straight profile. He shows gentle hooding to his green eyes. He is a big, long, strong boy with long legs, long body and a long tail. He has lovely coat texture and good braided stripes, just a bit dark over his back. A magnificent cat and so very friendly too. AV SECTION 5 VISITORS NEUTER 1 st McRae s UK IGr Ch Cagaran Plathach (ASH ns), MN, An adorable 3½ year old black smoke Asian lad with super type. He has a lovely short wedge showing excellent width at the cheekbones, an excellent blunt end to his muzzle, and a very good profile with an excellent distinct nose break and short, straight nose. His medium size ears are very well-shaped and set to follow the lines of his upper face and he has really lovely expressive, well-shaped eyes. His coat is quite short and he is clearly a smoke, showing a good dense black colour over a clear silver base. He is a good size and build overall, just slightly lean over the flanks today and the base of his well-shaped tail is a touch greasy. He is a total babe, such a pleasure to handle. 2 nd Walpole s Gr Pr Harlyndon Shiraz Tal (BUR b), MN, A 7 year old chocolate Burmese boy with very nice type and lovely coat texture. Another cat who was a delight to handle. 3 rd Phillips Pr Tonkinini Heaven Scent (TOS g 32), FN, A blue tortie TCR Tonkinese lady, 1 year and 8 months old. It took time to get her to show herself properly, when she revealed herself as a very pretty, as well as a very gentle, lady. Page 4 of 8
CAMBRIDGESHIRE CAT CLUB CAMCATS - SECTION 4 BENGAL BROWN SPOTTED KITTEN FEMALE 1st & BoB Irwing s Shomili Emperor Augustus (BEN n 24), M, Only 4 months and 3 weeks old, this brown spotted Bengal baby has lots of time to develop further. His head shows quite rounded contours, is definitely longer than wide and he has good high cheekbones. He has quite a broad nose and whisker pads evident. Overall, his wedge appears a bit long and narrow at present and his chin slopes back. He has quite a gentle curve to the nosebridge, a very slight concave curve to the nose leather, and level bite. His medium size ears are quite wide at the base and have good rounded tips. They are well-set but he was tending to hold them off a bit. His eyes are quite large, rather almond-shaped and set on a slant. He still needs to broaden and mature, but is very well-grown for his age with a long, sleek body, medium length legs and large rounded paws. His tail is medium long, quite thick and with a good rounded tip. He has lovely coat texture, short, fine, very soft and density developing well. His dark markings contrast very well with his pale base colour. His facial markings are excellent with a clear M on his forehead, and complex scarab with streaks over the back of his head, cheek tracings, a pale chin and whisker pads, two chin straps and two complete necklaces. His rosettes show three colours, and he has some small random dark spots between, and just a couple of elongated spots. He has stripes down his legs to his spotted paws, excellent colour on his hocks, and a spotty tummy. His tail shows a dark tip and rings on its lower half, but rather indistinct markings at the base. Another sweetnatured cat. CAMCATS - SECTION 5 GRAND CLASS 5A: AC BURMESE CHAMPION (GR CH) FEMALE GCC Giles Ch Alba Regia Cerulean (BUR g), F, A blue tortie Burmese girl, only 11½ months old and showing good maturity for her age. She has a very short wedge that shows super width at the cheekbones and at the jaw hinge, tapering to a good blunt finish at the muzzle. Her ears are on the smaller side of medium in size, and are an excellent shape with rounded tips and are broad at the base. They are very widely spaced and set to continue the upper lines of her face. In profile she shows a good break, slight roll-off to her short nose, and a level bite. She has very large eyes that are a deep yellow colour with a good deep curve to the lower contour, and a top line that could be straighter. She has excellent weight and build, lovely little oval paws, and a well-shaped tail that is just about long enough. Her coat is short, fine and close-lying and shows intermingled shades of blue-grey and cream. She was a bit of a minx, but allowed a full assessment. Page 5 of 8
Res GCC Pallister s Ch Penwynkatz Andallthatjazz (BUR j), F, A pretty young lilac tortie girl, coming up for 17 months old. She has a short wedge with width at the cheekbones, and reasonable width at the jaw hinge too. Her medium-large ears are well-shaped with rounded tips and wide at the base and are quite well set. She has well-shaped large chartreuse eyes. In profile she shows quite a good nose break, her nose rolls off rather and her chin slopes back: her bite is level. She has good overall build with excellent proportionate legs, super little oval paws and a well-shaped medium length tail with a good rounded tip. She has excellent coat texture, short, fine and close-lying, showing slightly cool-toned lilac intermingled with shades of cream. A sweet and gentle lady. Also entered Giles Ch Imastar Hearts Desire (BUR h), F, A chocolate tortie lady, now 5½ years old. She has quite good type overall, although her head needs a bit more width overall for balance. Her ears are large and wellshaped with reasonable width between them. In profile she needs more nose break, has a good straight nose and level bite with missing incisors. She has large chartreuse eyes that she was holding very round in shape when I was assessing her. Her coat is quite short and is nicely close-lying. She has darker mask and ears, blending to her paler underparts, showing a good warm chocolate with shades of red. A sweet and lively lady. BROWN BURMESE NEUTER FEMALE 1 st PC & BoB Chase s Gr Ch Starrychats Curiosity (BUR n), FN, A mature brown Burmese lady, now 6½ years old. She has a good short wedge with good width at the cheekbones tapering to a blunt-ended muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge. Her ears are a super shape, broad at the base with rounded tips, medium large in size and set very well. She has a good profile with a distinct nose break and straight nose, and level gums. Her large chartreuse eyes are set and shaped very well too, with an excellent expression. She has excellent overall build, carrying good weight and muscle, and she has lovely little oval paws. Her coat is short, fine, silky and really close-lying, an even dark seal brown in colour with just a few scattered white hairs and a touch of scurf at the base of her tail. Such a darling girl, sweet and a bit shy. LILAC BURMESE NEUTER FEMALE BoB Underwood s IGr Pr Barbizon Saint Lucia (BUR c), FN, A lovely big 4½ year old lilac Burmese lady of excellent overall type. She has an excellent short wedge, showing good width at the cheekbones tapering to a bluntended muzzle with good width at the jaw hinge too. She has an excellent profile with a good break, straight nose and level bite. Her medium size ears are very well shaped and well-set and she has large, well-shaped pale chartreuse eyes. Good weight and muscle to this girl, with a medium length body, slender proportionate legs and neat little oval paws. Her medium-length tail is well-shaped, tapering slightly to a good rounded tip. Her coat is short and fine, an even dove grey colour with slightly Page 6 of 8
paler underparts. She was a bit jumpy today, and looked much better out of her pen, when she showed herself off nicely. CAMCATS - SECTION 6 SUFFOLK CHOCOLATE OR LILAC ADULT MALE BoB Baines Gr Ch Eastpoint Chocilac Rossetti (SUF b), M, A lovely big handsome boy, not even 2 years old yet. He has very good overall type with good width across his cheeks, showing some stud jowls. He has an excellent muzzle with a good very slight pinch. He also has an excellent profile, except for a slight bump on his nose. His bite looks a little untidy with some missing incisors. He has large, well-shaped ears that he was tending to hold slightly low for perfection. His almond-shaped eyes could be bigger and are mid-green in colour. His closelying coat is an even deep chestnut brown colour. He has lovely overall build and stood tall and proud on the trolley, and was a darling to handle. CAMCATS - MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES AV SECTION 4 BREEDERS NEUTER 1 st Cherkas IGr Ch & OBIGr Pr Jusarka Thai Lilac Promise (KOR), FN, Gorgeous, gorgeous cat! A fabulous Korat lady, who will be 12 in June - she continues to amaze as she looks a fraction of her actual age. She is in superb condition, is as delightful and gentle as ever, with wonderful type and coat, and the most fantastic huge luminous green eyes that I could happily drown in. She is a sweet, darling lady and we enjoyed an excellent purr-laden cuddle together. AV SECTION 4 ADOLESCENT NEUTER 1 st Mackay s Thorsoak Coco Brioche Breadnlit (OCI bs), MN, A chocolate silver Ocicat lad, just 9½ months old. He has a good medium wedge that is quite broad with squareness to the muzzle. He shows the most gorgeous shape and set to his amber eyes, a large full almond shape on a good slant very striking indeed. He was tending to drop his large ears below the correct 45 angle when I was assessing him, but they are very well-shaped with good width at the base. He has excellent facial markings with an M on his forehead, a scarab and lines extending over the back of his head, a broken necklace, ribbons on his cheeks and his dark-rimmed eyes encircled with paler fur. His dark chocolate spots are arranged in quite a good bulls eye, with spots elongated down the spine, and just a bit of agouti invasion blurring some markings and a hint of tarnish on his muzzle. He is a big, strong, elegant and eye-catching lad. Page 7 of 8
BOMBAY & ASIAN CATS BREED CLUB OLYMPIAN CLASS AV IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER FEMALE 1 st & Oly Bell s UK & IGr Pr Chinatree Kristina Tiara (ALH ns 31), FN, A very pretty, stylish, brown smoke Tiffanie lady, now 7½ years old, but she certainly doesn t look her age. She has a short wedge with excellent width at the cheekbones, with a good blunt finish to her muzzle. Her ears are large, wide at the base with rounded tips with just a hint of tufts and set beautifully apart. In profile she has a good break and a straight nose with very marginal roll-off at the end, and an excellent level bite and chin. She has lovely large expressive pale chartreuse eyes that show the correct slant towards the nose with a good fuller curve to the lower contour. She is an excellent overall size and build, carrying good muscle and weight, with proportionate limbs and good small oval paws. Her coat shows a lovely warm seal brown over a clear silver undercoat, darker on her extremities and paler on her small ruff. It is fine and silky in texture and so beautifully prepared for the show, making the very most of it, with a plumed tail and a small ruff. She was beautifully presented, and was clearly very comfortable in her double pen, where she sat proudly posing for me. A gentle girl, although quite vocal when out of her pen. Page 8 of 8
