7 Today s champion calf was shown by father and son, Mark and William Falshaw of Walmersley and is testament to the family s hard work and commitment to producing high quality stock. The Falshaw family are the proud owners of the Falshaw Farm Shop run with Mark s wife Elizabeth, sister Ann and mum and dad. Young William acquired his Level 1 in Agricultural Engineering and Motorsports at Myerscough College in years 10 and 11 and follows his passion for farming as an Apprentice on the home farm whilst attending Myerscough for his Level 2 Livestock Production. A premium was definitely apparent for farm assured lambs today. There was a mixed bag in the breeding sheep today. Taylor Bros topped the day with Beltex ewes at 195 and shearlings at 150. Older ewes were harder to place and anything broken mouthed would have been just as well sold first thing in the morning. Gimmer lambs followed. Decent sorts above store price.
