Top price was 1600 for a well-balanced Heifer from G Hughes & Son of Dolerw who continued their ongoing dispersal, They have 4 more for next week. This was followed by 2 heifers of dutch origin from M J E Hughes of Criggion which were both giving 29kg of milk which sold for 1380 & 1200 respectfully. Another stonking Lim from the Slaters of The Broadlands, well out did the rest in terms of quality and sold on an impressive trade to 328. A tidy Blue from Lady House Farms sold extremely well to 260 with one from Richard Bowlder to 230 and Mr Potter of Wood Farm selling his to 225. The trade of Angus s was much improved today with the best from Mr Allmark of Top Farm to 170 and another from Hope Farming to 168. Messrs Whitticase sold their best to 150. Best Friesians were 58 today. The Slaters also topped the market in the Heifers with 288 for a lovely Lim. Lims from the Corfields of Spout Lane were also in demand selling to 240. Richard Bowdler sold Blues to 200with several others at A Heifer from Mr Lewis made 145 whilst older Angus s from Mr Pryce of Wentnor sold to 195. COULD ALL VENDORS PLEASE CHECK THAT THE SEX AND BREED OF THEIR CALVES IS CORRECT WHEN APPLYING FOR PASSPORTS. Plenty of demand on all, despite the deflation in the prime Lamb department. Store Lambs peaked at 78 for Suffolks from G T Pope with Ian Ainsworth selling his Suffolks at 72. A good run of Suffolks from K M & C M Atkin sold to with Continental Ram Lambs selling to 64 from G R Davies, Whitley Cottage. Smaller longer keep types trade between A cracking run of Inlamb Ewes from Jason & Emma Darlington sold to a good crowd of Buyers. All flock aged Ewes sold to a peak of 116 for North Country

4 Mules scanned at 160%. Texels then sold to 114 for similar scanning with Suffolks to 112. A quality run of Lleyn Ewes from Arwyn Groe sold to 107 for aged Ewes scanned with 3 Lambs. The usual quality from our good supporter Andrew Beckett sold to 100% for full mouthed Texel Ewes scanned at 200%. The first show of Couples this year sold to a number of interested parties, peaking at 158 for an aged Ewe with twin Lambs and again at 158 from P Williams, Rhiwsaeth for a Texel Ewe with twin Lambs. Several others sold to 156 for twin Lambs and 154 x 2 for twins. Singles peaked at 115 for Suffolks with others to 110. A lot more faces around the ringside made their presence felt against the seasoned regulars, with the Cattle looking well sold. Top price for the Steers and Heifers for great from K M Croft of Worth for her Pure achieving 1255 (610kg) for a grand Steer and 1290 (620kg) for a fit Heifer. In the Kilo stakes top call came at 225pp/kg for M & K Brown & Son of Rock Farm for their Steer 395kg. Heifers topped at 217pp/kg for K M Croft for a 18 month old Heifer weighing 460kgs.
