The Prize Sale of Store Lambs at Last Friday s sale was sponsored by Chilvers Country Supplies and judged by Mr Andrews, Brynheulog, Manafon. All were sold bar one pen with a superb trade and host of buyers in attendance. All sorts were keenly sought after and we require another good entry for this next sale. The buyers will come to Knighton so why travel your lambs 30 miles. Save time and mileage and support your local market. Cattle were a steadier trade with best sorts still selling well but plainer sorts were more difficult. However all were sold except for one heifer. On Thursday we had a trade on the lambs which was the curates egg. Handy weight meated lambs sold to a top of 190 pence and the overall average was just under pence per kilo. 85 was the top price for heavy lambs. Cull sheep sold to a top of with an average of for the 259 ewes forward. Weighing and penning of sheep every Thursday from 7.30AM.
