2 MJ & RI OSBORNE WESTON TB Pen Introduction: Welcome to Frome Livestock Market and this genuine dispersal sale of the quality suckler herd of Continental x cattle from MJ & RI Osborne, Weston, Bath. The herd was established over thirty years ago and has been a closed herd for the past five years. The management emphasis has very much been on breeding and only retaining the very best heifers with conformation and excellent temperament as replacements. The herd comprises mainly young Continental cows with a number being first and second calvers. The cows run with a quality Pedigree Hereford bull Velleyhill 1 Karl who has stamped the calves passing on quality muscling and definition. His progeny have repeatedly achieved top prices at Frome market. More recently a Pedigree Simmental from the renowned Loxton herd Loxton Guardian has been introduced into the herd. The herd is a credit to the management of Mike Osborne and family and are highly recommended by the Auctioneers. HERD MANAGEMENT: All cows presented for sale have been positively scanned in-calf and will start calving from 1 st November will calve to the Hereford with a further 10 due later to the Simmental. Dams sold as PD+ will only be warranted if 12 weeks + in-calf at the time of sale: All cows and heifers stated to be in-calf that have been served not less than 12 weeks before the date of sale and are shown to be PD+ will be guaranteed by the Vendor to be in-calf unless otherwise announced at the time of sale. However, no guarantee can be given as to the date of calving or breed of calf. Any claim under this guarantee must be made in writing, supported by a Vet certificate, to the Auctioneers within 7 weeks of sale. Any other service dates are a statement of fact only and not a warranty. Herd Health: The holding is located on the outskirts of Bath and is subject to a 12 month TB regime. All cattle presented for sale were last tested on 27 th June The holding is farm assured (13255 exp. 11/17).
