5 AUCTIONEER S CONDITIONS OF SALE 1. The stock will be exposed according to the lots and numbers in the following catalogue and the highest offer on each lot will be preferred to the purchaser. 2. The pedigree and description of the lots are believed to be correct, but are not intended as a warranty and therefore shall be taken with all the faults and errors of description. 3. All animals are at the risk of the vendor before sale and at the risk of the purchaser after the sale. 4. The service dates, while believed to be correct, cannot however, be guaranteed. 5. The auctioneers reserves the right to accept bids from a vender and they reserve on behalf of themselves and of the vendor the following rights: a) To bid on behalf of a vendor c) To rearrange, consolidate or withdraw any lots or vary the order of sale and d) Without giving any reason therefore, to refuse to accept the bids of any person. 6. If a dispute arises as to any bidding, then at the discretion of the Auctioneer, either: a) The lot to which the disputed bid relates shall immediately be put up again, or b) The auctioneer shall determine the dispute, and their decision shall be final and binding on all parties. The purchaser shall, if and when required, give his name and address to the Auctioneers, and shall if required, pay to the Auctioneers the purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, or so soon thereafter as the Auctioneer may require. 10. Purchasers paying by cheque must be prepared, if required, to produce a bankers reference. 11. No lots shall be removed from the sale premises until a written delivery order has been given by or on behalf of the Auctioneers. 12. Each lot shall, at the purchaser s expense, be removed from the sale premises within a reasonable time after the close of sale. 13. All statements in the catalogue or made by the auctioneer at the time of sale relating to any animal are believed to be correct. No sale shall be invalidated by reason of any defect or faults in any of the animals by reason of any of the animals being incorrectly described in the catalogue, or by the Auctioneer in the ring, and no compensation whatever shall be paid in respect of any faults or errors of description. 14. All shearlings and ewes are sold as having being scanned in lamb unless otherwise stated. 15. All animals are sold as they stand, the Purchaser is deemed to have examined each animal and fully satisfied himself about the animal prior to sale. 16. All Suffolk s in this sale are fully registered and eligible for immediate transfer to any Suffolk flock. Registration certificates will be given with all purchases. 3

6 CLOONTAGH FLOCK Due to work commitments, the decision has been taken to disperse the flock. The flock was established in 2004 with the purchase of selective females from noted flocks including Forkins, Laurelbank and Shannagh, with occasional purchases at leading UK Dispersals including Strathisla and Conveth. The flock has achieved considerable success at local and National level. Much of the flocks success can be attributed to the purchase of a ewe lamb at the Conveth Dispersal DYH:12:047 which bred the outstanding 2015 Roscrea Champion (Cloontagh Chieftain), selling for 31,000gns to Jimmy Douglas Cairness flock. 5 ET daughters of DYH:12:047 are included in the sale,all sired by the 21,000 Cairness Great Expectations.The flock is run on a strictly commercial basis with supplementary feeding having been introduced in the last 2 weeks. 9 Annakisha & Clyda Suffolks The Annakisha Flock, established in 1952 by the late Arthur O Keeffe and the Clyda Flock, founded by Susan O Keeffe in 1988 have won 17 Championships and 13 Reserves at the RDS and National Championships. Many other successes for both flocks followed, the most notable of recent years being; 11 Times winner of the Male and Supreme Champion at the Premier Show and Sale, 11 times Reserve 10 Times winner of Female Champion Premier Show and Sale 9 Times winner of the Group of Three Ram Lambs at the Premier Show and Sale, 10 Times Reserve 7 Times winner of Sire of the Year, 4 Times Reserve and 4 times winner of Homebred Sire of the Year 18 Times winner of the Female of the Year, 17 times Reserve The Clyda flock was Reserve Bristol Gold Cup and won the Sainsbury Cup. We have not entered the Flock competition since 1999 due to time constraints. Annakisha and Clyda are consistent winners at both shows and sales throughout the country, winning All-Ireland Pair of ewe lambs on numerous occasions, as well as champions at Roscrea, Tullamore and Fermoy. We also have won numerous championships at Summer Shows including National Livestock Show Tullamore 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and At the inaugural Elite Show and Sale, held at Blessington Mart 2016, we won Supreme Champion and Reserve and had Reserve Champion We are delighted to see progeny from our ewes featuring in shows in particular Philip s Byrne Limepark selling a lamb out of one of our ewes for the top prize 11,000gns in Roscrea. 10 Reference to Sires and Service Sires Castlewellan Sportsman (93827) ARR/ARR A son of the 48000gns Strathisla Dylan Thomas, purchased privately in 2008 for his style and correctness, has made a tremendous impact on the flock. Sired Supreme Champion and Female of the Year National Championships 2012 also numerous first prizes at National Championships. Sportsman has also sired the Reserve Supreme Champion 2009 and 2010 at Roscrea Premier Show and Sale. He also sired Female Champion, Champion Group of Three Ram Lambs and first Prize Open Ram Lamb Roscrea Sportsman was also sire of Supreme Champion Roscrea Second Show and Sale and Tullamore Show and Sale. A shearling ewe by him was Supreme Champion at National Livestock Show Tullamore 2010 and another was Reserve Supreme in He also sired Interbreed Champions at Cork and Limerick shows, as well as Supreme Champion at Munster Sheep Breeders Premier and Second Show and Sale. Rookery Classic, a powerful sheep with a very tight skin and a beautiful head, has been one of the most influential sires in recent years. He was Male and Reserve Supreme Champion National Championships 2013 and has bred lambs with great carcase, colour and figures including Reserve Supreme Champion Roscrea 2014, Clyda Maestro, sold to P & J Bolger for 6000gns where he proved to be a very influential sire. 12 Service Sires Clyda Dream Catcher ARR/ARR A stylish son of Birness Attitude, this April born shearling is out of the same female line as the renowned BYD U46 who was three times National Champion and Female of the Year. Bred very well in our flocks this year breeding great bone and fleshing ability in his lambs. He sired Reserve Champion at Elite Show and Sale Blessington 2017 and many of our top lambs this year. Birness Coulter ARR/ARR A son of the 10,000 gns. Redbrae Rambo, this ram has grown into a very big shearling with great fleshing, colours and carcase. Clyda Impeccable BYD:17:02297 ARR/ARR Our top lamb this year, showing tremendous style and presence, he is sired by the 62,000gns. Cairness Castello and is out of the best female line in the flock. His dam BYD: 14:1768 won Supreme Champion NSC 2016, Female of the Year 2016 and Supreme Champion National Livestock Show Her dam, the famous BYD L30, and maternal sister BYD:13:30 also won Supreme Champion NSC and Female of the Year 2012 and 2014 respectively. 14 Barrowlands Flock Foreword The Barrowlands Flock was established in 1994 with the purchase of ewes from long established Irish Flocks. Subsequent purchases of females from dispersal and production sales saw the addition of top quality bloodlines from at home and the UK. This along with the use of top sires through AI and purchased rams has led to us achieving numerous successes at shows and sales. In 2015 and 2016 we were in the lucky position to have exported sheep to the Netherlands and Belgium where they have bred very well. In 2017 we sent a consignment of 20 females and 8 ram lambs to Belgium and Portugal and we wish all our customers the best of luck with them. With the revival of the Flock Competition in 2017 we were delighted to have Reserve Champion Flock and Champion Flock of Ewe lambs. We are offering in this sale a top quality consignment of gimmers with excellent bloodlines. Service sires used this year are Carragh Captivate and Limestone Capri, two new Stock Rams that we are excited to have in our flock.
