2 Foreword The South Island members of the New Zealand Dorper Breed Society are pleased to bring you their 5 th Annual South Island Dorper Breeders Sale to be held in conjunction with the 150 th Canterbury A&P Show. With 70 Dorpers entered for exhibition and judging at the show this year and 20 of them being offered for sale, this is an excellent opportunity to purchase quality sheep and a variety of genetics. If you have any queries regarding any of the entered lots, please feel free to contact the breeder as listed in this catalogue or representatives of the Auctioneers. The vendors look forward to seeing you at the sale to discuss the animals on offer and wish you success with any animals you may purchase. 3 Conditions of Sale: 1. No sheep are to be removed from the Canterbury Agricultural Park until after 5pm, Friday 16 November. Arrangements for collection/delivery of any purchases must be confirmed with Rural Livestock Ltd representatives at the completion of the auction. 2. All sheep for auction are being exhibited and judged at the show. 3. All stud sheep are registered animals or progeny of registered animals with breeding pedigrees (Australian or New Zealand). All vendors selling sheep are registered with the New Zealand Sheep Breeders Association. 4. The upset price for rams on sale day shall be $ The minimum price for any ram sold outside the sale ring shall be $ The upset price for purebred ewes on sale day shall be $ The minimum price for any purebred ewe sold outside the sale ring shall be $ All White Dorper rams and ewes presented for sale are confirmed as a non carrier of the Dermatosparaxis gene (entries for all White Dorper sheep have been compared with the register held by the NZ Sheepbreeders Association office). 9. All rams and ewes will be sold one animal per pen/lot. 10. All sale animals have been shorn within six weeks of the sale or have a cover of less than 1.5cm. 11. All entries are from Accredited Brucellosis Free Flocks (a copy of the current Brucellosis Certificate is a requirement of the Canterbury A&P Assn show entry). 12. No sheep to be sold on the grounds on sale day other than those entered into the catalogue. 13. All sheep catalogued by the breeder are owned by that breeder and are not sold on behalf of another person. 14. All sale sheep will be inspected by the Auctioneer. 15. In the event of a catalogued entry being injured or otherwise being unfit for exhibition, a substitution which has also been exhibited at the show will be permitted. Substitutes must also pass inspection. 16. Animal status declaration forms accompany all sale entries. Disclaimer: The description of the stock in the catalogue shall be deemed to be correct.
