5 Chessy & Nilands Flocks Established in 1976 as one of the foundation flocks of the breed. The flock has been very successful in the show and sale rings winning 6 Premier Sale Male Champions, 7 Reserve Male Champions, 3 Premier Sale Female Champions, 2 Reserve Female Champions, 6 All Ireland Champions, 3 Reserve Champions, 2 RDS Champions and 3 Reserve Champions. The National Flock Competition was held on 5 occasions and we were fortunate enough to win it twice and are the current holders of the title. Since All Ireland Female Champions and 4 West of Ireland Club Champions have come from Chessy. The 2009 Champion was sold for 10,000 to Proctors Farms where she has excelled herself with her progeny winning The Royal Highland Show and Interbreed Champion at the Royal Welsh Show. Our 2010 All Ireland Champion produced the 2011 Champion and many more good sheep for Millers Flock in N. Ireland. Sires and Service Sires Nilands White Knight A son of knock Ursus, he was our best lamb in Due to an injury before Blessington he was retained for our own use. He was the most powerful lamb ever bred here, weighing over 95 kgs on the 1st of August White Knight was shown successfully in 2017 winning 1st Prize Aged Ram West Texel Club Championship and 2nd Prize at the National Championships in Gorey. White Knight is the most highly rated ram on the Sheep Ireland Index, his tremendous carcass and growth rate are coming through to his sons who are breeding mainly E and U grade lambs for the Qualeutex scheme. Corbo Val Verde A big strong son of Clarks Unreal, he has been used extensively this year. A son of Val Verde won 1st Prize Shearling Ram at the National Championships this year for the Foundry Flock who purchased the dam carrying the ram at this sale in Claybury American Gangster Purchased in Lanark this year, a son of Cowel Your My Boy. His dam is by Stainton Vantage II. He is a great carcass sheep with a big strong white head. Index % acc Blue Gates Avenger Also purchased in Lanark this year. He is by 8000gns Blue Gates Yogi Bear. His dam is by Cairness Perfection. He was bought for his style, skin and tremendous head. We look forward to his progeny Wayside Topgun Cost 5500gns in Lanark, by Glenside Razzle Dazzle out of an Ettrick Rainbow Warrior ewe who herself cost 20,000gns as a ewe lamb. 3

6 Emlach Flock The Emlach Flock was established in The foundation ewes were purchased from the Chessy, Foundry and Oberstown flocks. Since then top quality ewes have been purchased privately from the Ballybrooney and the renowned British Claybury flocks. In recent years, with the help of embryo transfer work, we have taken the flock from strength to strength resulting in great successes in the show ring including All-Ireland Hogget Ewe 2011, All-Ireland Open Ram and Ewe Lamb 2012, All-Ireland Junior Ram Lamb 2013 and 2nd place All Ireland Junior Ram Lamb was a very successful year on the show scene for the Emlach Flock. Emlach Alva (pictured) was the Reserve Male Champion at the National Championships, Gorey This ram lamb later sold in Blessington for Alva s ET sister was the overall Reserve Champion at the South West Championships in Charleville All our ewes are on the Heptavac P system, are vaccinated with Toxovax and Enzovax and are dosed for Fluke and Worm. Sires and Service Sires Knock Ursus: Ursus was purchased jointly in Lanark 2013 for 34k. A fantastic breeder from the best breeding line of the renowned Scottish Knock Flock. Bred All Ireland Female Champion and Reserve Female Champion Emlach Star: Sired by Kelso Picasso. Star was sold in 2011 to the Grouse flock in Ardagh, Co.Limerick for 1,500. Star s dam was the outstanding All-Ireland winning ewe in 2006, Bóthar Buí Flock. Star is stamping size, carcass and colours in all his progeny. Annakisha Al: Very correct grandson of Halbeath VIP. Sire of Al purchased in Lanark 2016 Arkle You Star. ET brother sold for 8K, Lanark Purchased privately. Knock Trident: A really consistent breeder. Purchased privately by Tophill Flock. Sire of Union Jack and renowned Uno. Claybury Warrior: Purchased privately from Claybury in partnership with Annakisha. His sire Stainton Vantage 5,400gns is an ET brother of the much admired Stainton Vigilante 11,000gns. He was purchased for his length, back end, superb top line and his beautiful head and colours. He sired first prize Junior Ram Lamb and Reserve Male Champion All Ireland 2016 and Female Champion, Blessington Allanfauld Rockafella: The 18k Rockafella is a real consistent breeder. He breeds size, length and character. He has bred females to 14k and sons to Tophill Wall Street: UK Sire of the year Purchased for 32k. Sons selling to 60k and grandsons to 22,000gns. 4

7 Ryan Texels The Lawn, Graigues and Rotsee Flocks were established in the late 1980 s with the purchase of ewes at Texel Society Sales. When selecting Ewes and rams for the Ryan flocks, much emphasis is placed on the commercial traits of the Texel Breed, i.e. muscling, length, tight skins and correctness. Garralogh Iggy Pop, Lawn Jupiter, Dutch Halley s Comet, Baileys One & Only,Oberstown Tornado, Millfarm Umbro,Millfarm Usher, Roscommon Watch Me and Doon Hill Viking are successful sires with these traits that have been used on the flocks in recent years. He is breeding excellent lambs with confirmation and character. There are 4 daughters of Viking in the sale. Roscommon Watch Me NBI15001 Watch Me was purchased jointly with the Ballybur flock at the 2015 Blessington Premier Sale. Watch Me has tremendous muscling and Texel character and he has sired excellent stock over the last 2 years. The sale includes 3 Watch Me daughters and 1 ewe inlamb to Watch Me. Macetown - ZGI Kindly loaned by the Brennan Family Lisgobbin & Roscommon flocks. He was purchased at the Blessington Premier Sale in He has great character with good bone,length,tight skin and colour. He is sired by Teiglum Windfall and out of a Tullagh Saracen Ewe. Ballybur Yancy - MDI16081 An April born son of Roscommon Watch Me and out of a Baileys One & Only Ewe, he was purchased in He has tremendous power and conformation and has 5 Stars for Terminal, Days to Slaughter and Daughters Milk. There are two Ewes in the Sale in Lamb to Yancy. Ballybur Warrior - MDI Purchased at the Blessington Premier Sale in A powerful Ram with great conformation and character. He is sired by Derryvore Ranger and out of a Figart Rock N Roll Ewe. There are three Ewes in the Sale,in Lamb to Warrior. 5

8 Donnelly Flock The Donnelly Flock was established with the purchase of ewes from Tysaxon and Chessy flocks. Select ewes have been added to the flock since from the Ballybrooney & Derrylahan flocks and from the Forkins & Cherryvale flocks Northern Ireland. The flock has improved steadily with the help of embryo work in recent years, in 2012 we had 2nd prize senior ram lamb at the Texel All Irelands and 1st Prize Novice ram lamb Blessington the same year, 2016 was a highlight winning 1st & 2nd prize Senior ewe lambs & 1st prize Junior Ewe lamb at the All Irelands in Dundalk, with the 1st prize Senior ewe lamb going on to be Reserve Overall Champion. Inlamb shearlings sold for 2100 & 2000 at this sale also in The flock has enjoyed its best year to date in 2017 with our three entries for this years All Irelands in Gorey all winning their respective classes, 1st Prize Shearling ewe, 1st Prize Senior Ewe Lamb and 1st Prize Junior Ewe Lamb, with the 1st Prize Senior Ewe lamb being awarded All Ireland Female Champion and Reserve Overall Champion. One of this year s ram lambs stood Reserve Overall Champion at Blessington Premier Show & Sale selling for 4800, with another from the pen who stood 5th in the Lambplus class selling for Another ram lamb stood Overall Champion at Athenry Open Show & Sale and sold for an Athenry record Texel price of 2020 for export to Northern Ireland. In all seven ram lambs sold to Pedigree flocks in All our ewes are on the Heptavac P system and are dipped & dosed Every effort will be made to assist purchasers with the transport of sheep. Sires and Service Sires Knonk Yazoo: Sired by the 32,000gns Tophill Wall St, Yazoo s dam was Lanark Reserve Champion 2014 selling for 4,500gns, Yazoo purchased in Lanark for 2,200gns in A proven breeder, who in his first year sired the 1st Prize Senior Ewe lamb, 1st Prize Junior Ewe lamb and 1st Prize Junior ram lamb All Irelands 2017, he also sired the Blessington Premier Sale Champion, his top three sons which have sold at Irish sales have averaged 2756, with further sons selling for 5500 & 2500 at Lanark for the Forkins flock Northern Ireland. Forkins Will-I-Ram: Purchased in Carlisle 2015 for 1,600gns where he stood 6th in a strong Open class. Sired 1st Prize Junior Ewe lamb & 2nd Prize Junior Ram lamb 2016 All Irelands, this year he has sired the Blessington Reserve Female Champion selling for 2300, with further daughters selling for 1600 & 2000 Mullan Van Winkle: Purchased for 2865 at Ballymena 2014 where he stood 3rd in Recorded class, bred sons to 1100 Knock Ursus: Cost 34k in Lanark 2013, proven breeder, bred All Ireland Champion and Reserve 2016, plus many more significantly prize winning and priced sheep. 6

9 Annakisha Flock The Annakisha Flock was established in In 2004 we purchased ewes from the Claybury flock in England, which have had a marked influence on the flock. These ewes have been responsible for our major successes over the last few years. Most notably Reserve Female Champion All Ireland 2010 and 2012, Reserve Supreme Champion All Ireland 2011 and 1st Prize Aged Ewe All Ireland 2013 and 2015, 1st prize ram lamb and reserve male champion 2014 and Champion at Premier Sale 2010, Reserve Champion Premier Sale 2011 and 2014 and Champion Group of Three Premier Sale 2013 and Supreme Female Champion Premier Show and Sale 2017 sired by Claybury Warrior. The flock has also enjoyed championship success at numerous shows around the country, including National Livestock Show Tullamore 2012 and 2013 and reserve champion 2014, 2016 and Champion Shearling Ram 2017 with Arkle You Star. We also had Champion at the South West Premier Show and Sale 2016 and The Annakisha Flock has just been awarded the show flock of the year for the second year in a row, 2016 and All our ewes are on the Heptavac-P system. All ewes are vaccinated with toxovax and enzovax. All ewes are dosed for fluke and worms. 10 The Foundry Flock The Foundry Flock was established in 1999.We have built up a large flock of ewes the main features of which are size,easy fleshing and correctness.we had great success in the past with selling a ram to Scotland for 14,000 and Stock rams to 4,000 and 3,500.We sell about 60 rams per year was a very good year for us.the progeny of Greenhill Yemen Boy gave a great boost to our sales.to cap it all he received the inaugural award of Irish Sire of the Year at the Awards event after our AGM in November.He is a very good follower to our last Great Stock Ram Oberstown Tuff. We exported 3 rams to Germany this year. Todays ewes are in lamb to Greenhill Yemen Boy and his two sons.the service rams are all scrapie resistant, 5 stars for terminal and high minus days to slaughter.they are 3,4 and 5 stars for replacement. HUI16069 ARR/ARR: Irish Sire of the Year.Purchased in Blessington 2016 for 2,730.He was first prizewinner in the open ram lamb class in the National Championships 2016.His sire Hillcrest Wagner won the shearling ram class in the Championships 2016.His ram lambs at the Premier Sale made 1800,1500,1100 and 1050 for the 4 presented.his son sold to Germany for 1,250. Oberstown Tuff. PFI12014: Five ewes on the sale are by Tuff.He is a high 5 star for replacement and terminal with a 79% and 83% accuracy and over 10 days minus to slaughter. Foundry Wisconson ARR/ARR (PXI15004): Wisconson is a high replacement sire breeding square,easy fleshing sheep.he has one daughter on the sale.n Murphys Umpa Lumpa: A huge,long ram breeding great length and growth.he has 7 daughters on the sale. Foundry Amran PXI ARR/ARR Our best ram lamb this year. By Yemen boy out of the fleshiest squarest ewe we have that milks very well. Foundry Alvern PXI ARR/ARR Alvern is a nice long ram with tight wool and good character. 5 ewes are in lamb to him on the sale. Our shearling ewes are vaccinated with Toxovax and are on the Heptavac-P system. Performance figures will be available on the pen at the sale. They were dosed with Supaverm on Nov. 4 th for fluke and worms. A DNA sample of all our hoggets have been sent for genotyping 8

11 Conditions of Sale 1. The stock will be sold in the order in which they appear in the catalogue and the highest bidder on each lot on the fall of the hammer will be declared the purchaser. If any dispute shall arise between two or more bidders then the lot in dispute will be put up again and resold, or the purchaser may be declared by the auctioneers. 2. The pedigree and description of the lots are believed to be correct, but are not intended as a warranty and therefore shall be taken with all faults and errors of description. 3. All animals are at the risk of vendor before sale and the purchaser after the sale. The auctioneer accepts no responsibility for damage or injury caused to the animal in the sales yard or in its precinct thereof. 4. The service dates, while believed to be correct, cannot however be guaranteed. 5. All lots will be sold in euro. Purchaser will be charged a fee of 5% of sale price. 6. Purchasers shall, if and when required, give their names and address to the auctioneers and shall if required, pay to the auctioneers the purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, or so soon thereafter as the auctioneers may require. 7.
