3 FOREWORD We are pleased to welcome you to this unique Reduction Sale of Pedigree Texel females of top quality on behalf of the Ryan Texel Group, Flor, Johnny and Jackie Ryan. The sale consists of 100 ewes with their March born lambs at foot and 60 Texel crossbred hogget ewes with their April born lambs at foot. The Lawn Flock was established in 1990 with the purchase of ewes at society sales. When selecting ewes and stock rams, much emphasis was placed on the commercial attributes of the breed, i.e. Muscling, Length, Tight skins and Correctness. Down through the years some super Dutch and French bloodlines have been imported which have left their mark on the flock. That little splash of Dutch will always be a part of Ryan Texels and in 2010 Dutch Halleys Comet s semen was used on a few selected ewes after a break of 15 years. 4 REFERANCE TO SIRES DUTCH HALLEY S COMET: Imported in 1992 to introduce new blood lines. He had exceptional conformation, a smart head and tight fleece. He has sired three stock rams and eight ewes exported to the United Kingdom, including Rotsee Abraham, Graigues Kippagh and Rotsee Boy-Scout sold for 1400gns in The sale includes 8 progeny of Halley s Comet. LAWN JUPITER: An outstanding son of Crush Comanche with the ultimate in conformation and tight wool. He was Supreme Champion Texel at the RDS Show and Tullamore Agricultural Show in He has sired several champions including the 1995 Champion Shearling Ram at Maynooth Premier Sale Lawn Action Man purchased by Scottish breeder Mr. Walter Scott. The sale includes 3 progeny of Jupiter. TAMNAMONEY NED: A hugely successful son of Douganhill McFly that needs no introduction. He sired the highest priced Texel in the UK in 2010, Forkins Rocksolid who sold for gns in Lanark. The sale includes 3 progeny of Tamnamoney Ned. BAILEYS ONE AND ONLY: EBE Baileys One and Only was purchased jointly with the Ballybur Flock at the 2008 Premier Sale for the sale topping price of 4500gns. He was chosen for his super power and Texel character. Since his purchase One and Only has grown in to a tremendous sheep. His sire is the 28,000 ram Forkins Nijinsky and his dam is by Craighead Hercules. Baileys One and Only s progeny were very popular in the sales ring last year at the Premier Sale with 5 ewes from the Graigues and Lawn flocks selling for an average of 1030 and 4 Shearling rams from the Ballybur flock selling for the top Shearling pen average of 775. The Sale includes 22 daughters and 78 lambs by Baileys One and Only. 4

5 FIGART ROCK N ROLL: UJI Figart Rock N Roll was purchased at the 2010 Premier Sale. Rock N Roll has excellent wool and super muscling and is by the super muscled sire in the Muckish Flock Clinterty Las Vegas who was imported from Scotland as a 4 year old stock ram. Rock N Roll was placed 2nd in the Open Ram Lamb class at the Premier Show and is expected to be an excellent cross on Baileys One & Only daughters. The sale includes 30 lambs by Rock N Roll. KILCOURSEY NICEFELLA: XNI Nicefella was purchased at the Growvite Texel All- Ireland in 2007 where he won the Novice Breeder Ram Lamb class. Nicefella has super length and exceptional muscling and his sire Shannagh Lucky is a very successful show ram for the Noble family throughout the country. Nicefella was supreme champion Texel at Ossary Show in 2010.The sale includes 20 lambs by Nicefella. GARROLAGH IGGY POP: Iggy Pop was purchased at the 2001 Irish Texel Premier Sale at Blessington Mart from the late Gerard Murphy for 2100 gns. Iggy Pop was a very successful sire having won at over 10 shows throughout his showing career. His major achievements include winning the Growvite Texel All Ireland Stock Ram Class in 2004 and remained unbeaten in the show ring that year. Iggy Pop bred excellent offspring with lots of length and muscle. His progeny performed well in the shows and sales ring with his top daughter selling at 1800 gns to Ellen Bailey and in 2006 at the Growvite Texel All Ireland the winning ewe lamb was sired by Iggy Pop. The sale includes 20 daughters and 20 grand daughters of Iggy Pop. ROUGHAN LAPTOP: Laptop was purchased by the Sire Reference group at the 2005 Irish Texel Premier sale for 3,000. Laptop has proven to be the most successful ram ever purchased by the Reference Group to date, having sired many champions at shows and sales. His recent successes include champion at the 2008 Premier sale which sold for 4,000. At the 2010 Tullamore National Livestock show, he was sire of the first prize winning Stock ram, Shearling ram and Aged ewe. Two of these class winners went on to win Supreme champion and Reserve champion rewards at the show. The sale includes 5 daughters and 10 grand daughters of Roughan Laptop. 5

26 CONDITIONS OF SALE 1. The stock will be exposed according to the lots and numbers in the catalogue, and the highest bidder on each lot will be declared the purchaser. 2. The pedigree and description of the lots are believed to be correct, but are not intended as a warranty and therefore shall be taken with all faults and errors of description. 3. All animals are at risk of the vendor before sale and at risk of the purchaser after the sale. 4. All Pedigree lambs in the sale have been birth notified to the Irish Texel Sheep Society, lambs can be resold later in the year privately or at regular sales but can not be sold at Irish Texel Sheep Society organised sales other than in the name of the lambs breeder as per Society rules. 5. All pedigree lots will be sold in guineas (multiples of 105 cent) 6. If a dispute arises as to any bidding, then at the discretion of the auctioneer, either: (a) The lot of which the disputed bid relates shall immediately be put up again, or (b) The auctioneers shall determine the dispute, and their decision shall be final and binding on all parties. 7. The purchaser shall, if and when required, give his name and address to the auctioneers and shall if required, pay to the auctioneers the purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, or soon thereafter as the auctioneers may require. 8. Purchasers paying by cheque must be prepared, if required, to produce a bankers reference. 9. No lots shall be removed from the sale premises until a written delivery order has been given by or on behalf on the auctioneers. 10. Each lot shall, at the purchaser s expense, be removed from the sale premises within reasonable time after the close of the day s sale. 11. All statements in the catalogue or made by the auctioneer at the time of sale relating to any animal are believed to be correct. No sale shall be invalidated by reason of any defect or faults in any of the animals by reason of any of the animals being incorrectly described in the catalogue or by the auctioneer in the ring, and no compensation what so ever shall be paid in respect of any such faults or errors of description. 26
