Not quick enough I suppose for those Fanciers who have had an excellent breeding season. Each year it is unbelievable to see the very high standard of birds on show and one thinks they cannot be bettered. However, the following year some lucky person brings along another outstanding specimen. It is pleasing too that it is not always one of the top Fanciers. This year, of course, on Saturday, the 21 st, the Dinner Dance will take place at the North Euston Hotel. The Committee is delighted at the response to this event It was great last year when so many foreign visitors came to join us, how nice it would be to see them again. Please do your utmost to exhibit. Therefore, making it an extra special week-end. Looking forward to meeting you again. Of course, there has been the usual loss of close friends and colleagues. 19 DINNER DANCE British Border Fancy Canary would like to confirm that we have organised a Dinner Dance on Saturday night 21 st of November 2009 at the North Euston Hotel. This will be in the same format as last year, a three course sit down meal with a DJ Disco and Classic Sound Duo. This will be in the main Ballroom which will seat 130 people at round tables. The Hotel is now fully booked with all Border fanciers and friends. Please check with the Hotel nearer the time for cancellations ( ). At present there is approx 25 seats available for the Saturday Evening Dinner Dance. The cost of people not staying at North Euston is 21 per head. The New Boston Hotel (just up the road) still have rooms available ( ). The officials and Committee would like assure all exhibitors and visitors that we are in talks with Marine Hall management regards to the lighting situation in the main hall, they are hoping by later in the year to have a complete new lighting system in place. The Council know they have to do something about the lights, as the present halogen lights are no longer available. It is also possible to have temporary lighting in place, if the new lighting system is not finished by November. Thanks to our President new adjustable judging stands have been made to help Judges, dare I say that are not of a high stature. I would like to ask everyone to do their best and support the Show by exhibiting as many birds as possible. We need a 1000 birds entered just to break even, to cover all the costs involved. 20 Rules & Regulations 1. This Show is held under the Rules of the all Border Specialist Clubs. Agreed at the Border Convention in Birmingham. 2. Entries close for catalogue on Wednesday11th November Any entry not in the Catalogue will not be eligible for B.B.F.C.C. Trophies or Specials as per Rule. 3. Exhibits must be staged by 9.00a.m. on Saturday 21st November 2009 when judging will commence. Stewards will be in attendance from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday to receive exhibits 4. All exhibits entrusted to the care of the Committee will be properly looked after and special care will be taken to the packing of the birds for the return journey but the Committee will not be responsible for any loss or damage that may happen to them on their way to or from the Show. Entries only accepted on these terms. 5. The Committee reserve the right to refuse entries without explanation 6. Exhibitors may state a price at which their exhibits may be sold but if so desired, may be marked N.F.S. on their entry form. The first claimant shall pay the entry price (cage not included). Further claims may be made for the same bird and it will then go up for auction. All money over the catalogue price will be equally divided. The Committee shall deduct 10% of the selling price AND NO EXHIBIT SHALL BE DISPOSED OF PRIVATELY 7. No bird sold will be allowed to go out of the hall before 3.00p.m. on the last day of the Show except in the Sales Classes. 8. Sales Section. The Society undertakes to sell at such price as stated on the Entry Form and will deduct 10% Commission. Entries free. Prize Cards only. All sales through the Sales Steward, 9. Lifting time for all exhibits will be 3.00 p.m. on Sunday. This Rule will be strictly adhered to. Long-distance birds will be dealt with first. 10. Any protests must be accompanied by a fee of 5 and made in writing and lodged with the Secretary before 1.00 p.m. on the Sunday. Such protests will be considered by the Committee and if not upheld the deposit will be forfeited. 11. In the event of Judges not having time to judge their allocated classes, the show managers have the authorisation to re-allocate classes. 12. Only First Class Prize winners to go forward for Specials. 13. Only half the cash specials will be paid if there are less than five exhibitors in each section.
