Minimum bid $25. Because of a shift of some of our farming operation including some facilities to building resident housing Masonic Village Farm is moving toward a more commercial based cow herd. Therefore because of this shift in operations we are able to offer some cattle from the very heart of our cow herd. You will see some older cows that have done a tremendous job producing great Shorthorn herd replacements for herds all over the eastern part of the United States for over 30 years. If you study these pedigrees and footnotes carefully you will discover a cow herd that has moved toward easier calving and easier fleshing cattle. Through improved genetics and improved nutrition our average birth weight has continually dropped with the use of sires like MH FUSION, LITTLE CEDAR CABRERA 24 and SS FR WHR REMEDY 438. Over the last four to five years we have successfully used these sires on heifers. During this time period we have also been steadily increasing our average weaning weight. Here is a great opportunity to purchase some cattle that heretofore may not have been offered but retained for our herd. Keep watching for this opportunity over the next few years right here at the Keystone Autumn Klassic Sale.
