5 During the 1998 North American Show my dad took me and showed me a female that he thought was the best Shorthorn female he had ever seen. That female was The Margie Story. DSF Margie Although she didn t win the National Championship that day she was successfully campaigned by Ashley Hunter being Reserve Grand at the American Royal, Senior Champion Junior Nationals, Reserve Calf Champion Denver National, along with many others was selling that next month in the Genetics On-Line Sale. Unable to attend due to winter weather my dad was determined to own her and bought her via Don Cagwin over the phone. Although a Colonel in the US Air Force my dad had a keen eye for the good ones.
