Run: 2356 Date: 06 April 2017 Venue: TAR College, Chinese Temple Bunny: Missy GM s Run Notes The trail on Thursday was a PH3 trail that Viking had set the week before. It was thought to be so good that Sai Seng thought it would be a great one for Harriets since it was a challenging descent. So with Viking and Texas tits joining us, off we went on the latest weekly adventure. It started with the usual way in along the pathway but then cut left at the old building and then on up from there. It was an old path but not one that has been used by us for many a long year. It was a gradual climb but steep enough to make me rest a few times to get my breath back. At least it also gave me the opportunity to have a look around at the wonderful greenery and the trees. It wasn t so dense, so the light shone through exposing a wonderful view with dapple light here and there shimmering off the leaves. The quiet was amazing too. Very peaceful except for my laboured breathing! There were a lot of Pitcher plants I noticed on the way up. A sure sign of undisturbed ground but now it has been rediscovered I wonder how long this will remain so! On up we went but never getting to the top before the trail turned downwards only to swing back around and head upwards once more. Being behind the others has an advantage as I saw them reclimbing up and so I just cut across to rejoin the paper!! From here it was a bit of skirting, going up and down to get through the rocky terrain. Some of the boulders are gigantic and such amazing shapes too!
GM s Run Notes continued Then we were heading down. The descent was tricky though as one had to get through and across the boulders and rocky outcrops. At this point in time there were hand holds to help one get across the gaps between the rocks but for how long, with multitudinous hashers passing through? There were a couple of places too that had a drop which might cause problems in the future and even today needed careful manoeuvring due to the still wet soil. Then suddenly we were out and on the trail leading to the PBA and from there it was an easy trip back to the runsite. I take my hat off to Viking and his fellow helpers who found the trail down through the rocks. That is quite a feat and what a great run!!! My only comment is the ending to the run. It went through the broken fence at the PBA and then across the stream. This fence has been repaired several times and yet people still break it down to get access across the stream. In the past Harriets were blamed for one of these breakages. I don t want it to happen again. My suggestion is that in future we come out the slightly longer way through the PBA or cut back across the rocks earlier along the pathway. In the evening we had Calculator and Supertanker from the Malaysian Hash Council visiting to promote the Murugan Memorial Run being held on May 13 th for the late President of the MHC, who was always very supportive to the Harriets. We also had two ladies Ammeloes and Karlijan from Holland, Rajan from Batang Hash, Texas Tits from PIH2 and a rejoining member Sayor.
GM s Run Notes continued It took an hour for the first runners to get back while the slower runners took around 2 hours. There was a report of a nude man bathing in the stream by the PBA fairly oblivious to the passing hashers but the ladies didn t see him...or so they say!! We had an early circle as our MHC friends were off to see another Chapter but afterwards the crowd stayed chatting and drinking until quite late enjoying the lovely balmy evening. In all we had 43 members and 6 guests and a big thank you goes to Missy for hosting with Porridge and Wanton Mee on offer for the evening s repast. THANK YOU! *** Next Week we are at Tembaga Waterfall, Indian Temple for Molly s run. Please come and support her*** All Welcome Please respect the environment which we enjoy each week and ensure that no rubbish is left at the site, including cigarette butts, scraps and general litter. Thank you.

The Circle Our friends from the MHC announcing the Murugan Memorial run on 13 th May. (Please sign up for this to represent the Harriets.) Further information can be found at the Invitation Runs pages. Welcome our guests, Ammeloes and Karlijan (from Holland), Rajan and Texas Tits.
Welcome back to Sayor rejoining after a gap of several years. The Circle The GM then called the On Sec to the ice. The reason was two-fold. One, so that all knew who the On Sec was and the other to thank her for her first colourful newsletter and to prompt all who have ideas to tell the On Sec.
The Circle Nelly has been running with us for some time now but didn t have a Hash name. After some too-ing and fro-ing with potential names Iceman came up with the idea of NO CHOICE initially as an answer to a question. The idea struck a chord with the group and Nelly was duly baptised into the Hash family.
The Circle A charge from the floor saw Fancy Pants charge Iceman. FP told a long story of how he first met Iceman many years ago and on his first run was told to stick to Iceman as he didn t run and FP could stay with him. Now times have changed as Iceman still doesn t run...he RACES and FP cannot now even keep him in sight!!
The Circle The final icing for the evening was of course our thank you to the Bunny of the Day, Missy. A great run, good food and a fantastic atmosphere. Did you plan the weather too??? Additional thanks to Just Beer, Texas Tits and Viking for setting the run.
Next Run *** Next Week we are at Jalan Tembaga Waterfall, Indian Temple for Molly s run. Please come and support her *** Guest fees only RM includes food, fun and great company Jalan Tembaga Waterfall At the end of Changkat Tembaga, turn left into the very small lane. Then turn right and then left. The waterfall and Temples are about 50mtrs.
