Her school isn't far from her home. At school she meets her friends and talks about her homework, during the break she plays with her friends. It is so hard to keep quiet and pay attention to our teacher, she always says with a laugh, ' you forget more in three months, than you learn in a year'. Books are my best friends because they give us much pleasure and useful information about different countries and different people. When I read a book, I don't feel lonely or cut off from the rest of the world. Reading helps me forget my troubles and problems and this is the greatest joy of reading. 6 C.W. 5) During the week-end I travelled by air for the first time in my life. I usually travel by train or bus. It is both cheaper and safer. But this was a short journey. At the beginning I did not feel very happy. This feeling did not last long. The trip was very exciting. I was soon high up in the sky among the clouds. The view of mountains, fields and rivers was interesting and unusual. I enjoyed my short and comfortable journey very much. Answer 1- When did you first travel by air? Mrs. Smith liked her cat very much. She went to the Police who caught the thieves and returned the cat to Mrs. Smith. both Mrs. Smith and the cat were very happy. In the evening the woman went to the doctor's house. He gave her a box and he said ' Take this to your husband ' When the woman opened the box, it was full of money. She went to the shops, and bought some food. She also bought wood to make a fire. 20 -1- Dr. Dolittle lived in a small town called Puddleby. He lived in a small house and he kept many animals in his garden. Dr. Dolittle didn t have many patients. Most people didn t like all his animals. He knew a lot about animals more than vets. The cat s meat man helped Dr. Dolittle to earn money. He sent all the women with sick dogs or cats to him. -2- One day, a man brought a monkey to see Dr. Dolittle. The monkey s collar was too tight and that he was dirty and unhappy. Another time a circus came to town. A crocodile came to see the doctor. It had a toothache. The crocodile didn t want to go back to the circus. It asked him if it could live in the fish pond in the garden. The doctor agreed but it mustn t eat the fish or bite any of the animals. -20-

21 -3- When Dr. Dolittle and his pets were sitting in the living room, the door suddenly opened, a monkey ran in and he told the doctor that all the monkeys in Africa were very sick. The sailor agreed to give Dr. Dolittle his boat because he cured the sailor's baby of a disease last year. Polynesia advised the doctor to take food and water with him because she went on long sea journeys. -4- The journey to Africa took six weeks. The weather was too hot for the pig and the owl. There was a bad storm and the boat was difficult to steer so it hit a rock and water began coming into the ship. Dr. Dolittle ordered Dab -Dab to swim under the water. She found out where the water was coming from. -21-

22 -5- The king wasn t pleased to see Dr. Dolittle and his animals. Many years ago, a man came and killed all the elephants and took their ivory tusks away. The king ordered some men to take the doctor and his animals to the prison. They were all unhappy, Polynesia had a plan to set them free. She flew to the king s bedroom she coughed so he woke up, she told him that she was Dr. Dolittle who had many powers to cure people. The king gave orders to release them. -22-
