On behalf of the Solano County Fair Association it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in and attend the 2011 Solano County Fair August 3 rd through 7 th. This year s Fair, themed There s No Place Like Home! will showcase everything great about Solano County the people, the talents, the communities, the cultures in a giant celebration you won t want to miss, right here in your own backyard! The 2011 Solano County Fair promises to be the best entertainment value of the summer, with ALL entertainment included in the same low price of admission as last year, including headline concerts, and continuous entertainment throughout the Fair! The most exciting way to be part of the fun is to participate and be part of the show. 3 DEPARTMENT RULES & INFORMATION 1. All State and Local rules are applicable and will be strictly enforced. 2. Overnight sleeping in barn area is prohibited. OPEN LIVESTOCK 4. All exhibitors of livestock must display a stall sign for each entry, which should include the following information: The name, breed, breeder, age, and owner. The names must be suitable for family viewing. 3. Livestock is not permitted in the trailer park or any area of the fairgrounds other than the livestock barns. Exceptions are at the sole discretion of fair management. 5. Exhibitors will be responsible for complete clean out of their pen area prior to release from fairgrounds. Violation of this rule may result in forfeiting of premiums and exhibiting at the 2011 Fair. 4. The Solano County Fair Association s Animal Welfare Manual has been adopted as policy. * The Animal Welfare Policy will be followed by all exhibitors at the Solano County Fair. * A copy is available for viewing in the Administration, Entry, and Livestock Offices. 5. The Solano County Fair Association reserves the right to conduct random drug testing on livestock at its sole discretion. 6. Only animals in the Junior Livestock Auction can be sold on the fairgrounds. 7. Violations of rules will be grounds for adverse action including, but not limited to any or all of the following: loss of cash prizes and awards, removal from the grounds, disqualification of entries, and forfeiture of entry fees. ENTRIES 1. The management reserves the right to close the entries when all available space limits are met. Late entries may be accepted on a space available basis only. EXHIBITS 1. All animals will be inspected upon arrival, prior to unloading. Any animal exhibiting questionable health will be quarantined. 2. All livestock exhibitors are to supply their own bedding, feed, and water receptacles; cleaning tools and wheelbarrows for stalls pens and animals. *First bedding will not be provided. 3. Stalls, pens and alleys must be cleaned no later than 9:00 a.m. daily and must remain clean until designated release times. * Manure must be deposited in designated areas by 9:00 a.m. each day. (Not in front of pens/ isle ways) * Animals must be kept thoroughly groomed, cleaned and in show condition at all times. * Pathways, approaches, and areas surrounding stalls must be kept clear for the convenience of spectators. Failure to comply with keeping exhibits, stalls, pens and alleys clean at all times will result in the withholding of cash awards. OPEN LLAMA SHOW Department 710 * No residence restrictions * An official sanctioned ALSA show. * ALSA Rules will apply, as well as state & local livestock rules. * Junior and Open judged together Entries Close: Wednesday, July 6 Entry Fee: $10.00 per entry per class Stall Fee: $10.00 per pen. Two llamas per pen Fair provided pens are 6 w x 12 l x 4 h. If pen is not adequate, exhibitors may bring their own panels to fit within the allotted 6 x 12 space ALSA Show Fee: $5.00 per animal entered Non-ALSA Member Fee: $30.00 per farm Receiving: Friday, August 5 th, 8 a.m. -11:00 am Judging: Saturday, August 6 th, 9:00 a.m. Costume, Halter & Showmanship Obstacle & Driving Courses Release: Sunday, August 7 th, after 6:00 p.m. Exhibitors must clean stalls prior to release * All Livestock must be released by the Livestock Superintendent 86 ENTRIES CLOSE JULY 6

Llama Show may be limited due to facility space. Entries accepted on a first come basis until all space is filled. 2. Postmarks will determine the cut-off point for barn space availability. 3. Exhibitors under the age of 12 are not permitted to show an intact male over 24 months of age. 4. es may be split or combined at the judge's discretion, depending upon the total number of entries per class. 5. All llamas entered in approved halter classes must be registered. Registration numbers must be filled in on entry forms and official registration papers will be checked by the show clerk prior to the halter classes. 6. Animals must be able to be penned together. 7. All animals coming from outside the State of California must be accompanied by a current health certificate. 8. Females - Adults 37 months. and over 9. Non-Breeders - 5 months. thru 12 months. 10. Scrapie Requirements A: All sheep entering the fair require individual identification. The official identification may be official USDA identification ear tags, premises ear tags, Scrapie Flocks Certification Program ear tags, registration tattoos if accompanied by registration papers, or other methods approved by the Calif. Dept. of Food and Agriculture. B. All sheep from out of the state of California require official identification, a certificate of veterinary inspection and a California entry permit. C. Fairs will not accept sheep from scrapie "noncompliant" flocks, or animals that are scrapiepositive or scrapie suspects. D. Fairs will not accept sheep from scrapie infected or source flocks, or animals that have been exposed to scrapie unless they have been evaluated and approved for exhibition by the state scrapie epidemiologist. OPEN LIVESTOCK 2. Exhibitors having a preference with whom they want their animals to be penned with should submit a written request with their entry form. 3. Based on the number of entries, sheep will be divided into one feature meat breed class and one feature wool breed class after close of entry. All others will be placed into All Other Meat or All Other Wool Breeds classes.
