Sept. 10th, Tosa Fest in Wauwatosa. Thank you to Mari Pavleje for organizing and promoting the club. Sept. 17th, Barktoberfest in Estabrook Park in Milwaukee. Tracy McCarty did an amazing job of organizing the all day event which included agility demos by our club members and an area for people attending the event to try some basic equipment. Sept. 24th, Fromm PetFest at the Summerfest grounds. Thank you to Daryl Stuppan for organizing the obedience and agility demos and promoting the club. I would like to also thank all of the demo participants and volunteers who came to the different events to help setup, stayed late to help tear down and participated in the days activities. We couldn t have done it without all of your help. The Milwaukee Brewers season came to a close for us and again Mari Pavleje did a great job of organizing this beneficial fundraising event for the club. She dedicates her spring and summer to going to all of the events and getting volunteers from her church along with club members. Thank you for another good year!! Milwaukee Dog is having an agility Open House on October 22nd at 12:30am at the indoor clubhouse. If anyone is interested in learning more about the sport, please stop in to see the current dogs in training and meet our training staff. Ghost night is on October 29th at 6pm at the outdoor clubhouse, all club members and their families are invited to come. Bring your furry partners and enjoy the festivities. Get your costumes ready for a frightful night of fun and activities. After much thought, I am going to put the Milwaukee Dog calendar on hold for this year. We have received a lot of great photos that I am going to hold on to for next year, however, I would still like for everyone in the club to be able to submit a picture and have it in our calendar. So please continue to submit your photos to mdtccalendar@milwaukeedog.com. This will give everyone more time to submit photos, and more time for us to have the calendar created. Have a safe and Happy Halloween! Kathy

3 GHOST NIGHT! October 29, 2016 People in costumes, dogs in costumes, what could be scarier? Throw in some food, decorations and games and you have a Halloween party. Please join in on the fun on Saturday, October 29th at the Club at 6pm. Please bring a dish to pass. MDTC AT BARKTOBERFEST After the 2015's agility set-up at the event, MDTC agility was immediately asked back to set-up the same part for this years event, of which, I said, it would be our pleasure! This event is hosted by ROMP to raise money for the Milwaukee area dog parks. After knowing the lay of the land from 2015, a small crew gathered on Friday morning to stake and fence off our center stage area ring of 100ft X 100ft that would transform into a full course agility ring and a separate 2 lane Try-It areas on Saturday. MDTC also had a booth to represent amidst the sea of tents. Par for the MDTC agility crew, after the area was set to go, everyone was smiling with accomplishment knowing how awesome this day was about to unfold! And to top it off, the weather was about as nice as we could get to spend a day outside playing agility; mostly sunny, in the mid 70 s! As the public flooded in, we had a steady pace of guests trying agility for the first time while being guided through basic equipment by one of our agility "lane instructors." Others revisited some basic agility that they tried years ago, while others completed practice run-thrus on our full course. In-between the guests play, our members rotated into the areas to show off their dog s skills and their handling expertise in agility. The ring areas rarely stopped buzzing with activity. Members were kept busy talking with 100s upon 100s of event guests. Due to the size of the crew we needed to pull off this event, the amount of public exposure the club received was second to none! We each easily talked to 100s of people about the club and our dogs during this 5 hour event. Note: this 5 hour event started around 10:00am for us and ended when we closed the door of the club building around 8:00pm! Not to mention all the prep work it took to get to that point! This is certainly one of the best, bigger agility events the club attends...fun for the members, fun for the community and true potential club members in attendance. ROMP loves us and it shows. They made every effort to take great care of us and our needs! Now it s my turn to directly thank the village-sized TEAM that helped make this event once again be one of the most fun and prosperous MDTC agility events: Dog s: Tracy McCarty/Wikki, Zeni, Diana Howland/Rusty, Freddy, Daryl Stuppan/Cashmere, Ellen Mack & Kris Kleist/Lola, Kristyn Sinn/Ted, Jennie Neumann/Lana, Vern Neumann/Archer, Claude Szpot/Brodey, Molly Hare/Sadie, Heidi Rodenkirch/Walter, Peggy Brunner/Rocco, Sue Bronson/Chela, Gabbi Kabachieva & Mom & Grandma & Grandpa/ Scotty, Duke, Claire Moore/Stella, Mary Parker/Rose, Dawn Fuchs/Shandy, Kristina Stuppan/Cali, Addy, Brutus, Tim Carter/Ember, Khoua Yang/Zoe, Claire Reihle/Louis, Amanda Belinski/Quinn. Non-Dog Volunteers: Martha Ryan, Nancy Wandersee, Mari Pavleje, Jennifer Balinsky, Kathleen McNerney, Dale Eastman, Amber Gale, Roger Mankiewicz, Linda Simmerling, Sharon Matusinec. Kudos to all!!!! This could never have happened without ALL of your help! The dogs ran GREAT! The handlers ran GREAT! The volunteers helped GREAT! What a fantastic show of agility spirit and the work we do at MDTC!!! Psst...we were already asked back so reserve the date: Sept 16, 2017! ~Tracy McCarty

Once again we are asking club members to sign up to walk, wave and perform basic obedience commands. To get to the parade, you can either drive yourself or take our bus. For those participating in the parade, we are representing MDTC and we ask that you wear: solid black pants, Club jackets or a nice plain BLACK jacket and a Santa hat (provided by the club). Parade Starts: 9:30 am. We must be at our area at 8:30 am. It is a large parade and all the units must arrive early to line up. We will practice and take the group photo. Parade Perks: The parade is covered live on Channel 6. You could be a TV star! It is great FREE advertising for our club. Parade Luncheon: *Free Photo with Santa and Door Prizes: If you can t participate in the Parade, please join us for the luncheon and Santa photos and Pooch Paw Prints at the Indoor club. All club members and families are invited. Festivities begin around 10:30. SEPTEMBER EXHIBITIONS On Saturday, September 10th, we did a demo at Tosafest in downtown Wauwatosa. Even with the ongoing reconstruction of State St, we found our way there and did the demo for a small but enthusiastic group of people. Thank you to Sue Bronson and Chela, Peggy Brunner and Lilly, Dale and Nancy Eastman and Cassidy, Theresa Harwell and Rocket, Carole Knoblich and Barney, Daryl Ann Stuppan and Cashmere, Kristina Stuppan and Addie, and Khoua Yang and Zoe for participating. On Thursday, the 22nd, we did a demo at Elizabeth Residence in Bayside for their assisted living residents. It's always rewarding to provide entertainment to groups like this, but this was especially welcomed because they had just experienced a 90 minute power outage at the Residence! Thank you to Evan Emmons and Maggie, Sam Emmons and Ember, Theresa Harwell and Rocket, and Jackie Paisley and Riley for being there. Mari Pavleje Exhibition Coordinator A HELPING HAND Last fall, Mark Anderson, a long time member and instructor, had a bone marrow transplant for leukemia. He's doing well now. At the time, he and his wife, Sally Haldorson, set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses. Now, this fall, they are facing another challenge regarding their son, Noah, who is handicapped. Please check out their page, read their story and help out if you can.
