Hoping everyone is enjoying these past summer months. The Club is rocking and the membership has grown, our trials, continue to be successful. All is good! I do ask that people step up to volunteer, all of these trials take a lot of work and we need you! We Train workers and feed you! 2 General Meeting Minutes 06/16/17 The meeting was called to order at 7:35 PM. Update to April minutes: DOAT report should state we have 5 agility classes. Doris moved to accept the minutes as noted; Joan seconded. Secretary: none. Treasurer: absent. (He is setting up for our Nose Work trials this weekend.) We have approx. $200,000. President: none. Vice President: none. DON: absent as he is preparing/setting up for our Nose Work trials this weekend. DOT: going well. Expressed sincere appreciation of all our instructors. DOAT: agility classes are going well. Working on adding another Foundation class. Tracey will be taking the summer off from teaching classes (in re: 3 Tuesday classes.) Training Hall Secretary: classes are very full. We have a waitlist mostly for Beginner s. All approved. Welcome! J Committee Reports: Agility trials 2017: Super! The one ring trial went very well. Approximately $5400 profit. We have secured Car-Dun-Al again for Membership: 230 members. New rosters have been completed. Service Credits: up to date. AKC Rally seminar: facilitated by Chris Wagner, Karen Haberkorn. and Ed Barys. with judge Arlene King presenting/ reviewing the new signs. 26 people attended. Went very well, and well received by all participants. Nose Work trials: 6/17 & 6/18 are both full. Upcoming trials will be held on 9/9/17 and 9/10/17. Cynosport trial: 6/ entries received. Formerly APDT. Day of entries will be accepted. 4H rentals: 7/15 [match] and 7/22 [trial.] 2017 UKC Obedience & Rally trials: 7/29 [obedience] & 7/30 [rally.] Barn Hunt trials: 8/26 & 8/27. We need volunteers! Nominating Committee: Dana Vierck, Peggy Roesner, and Mary Pleticha Unfinished Business: We are getting rid of the Storage Shed and will not be renewing the lease. Cheryl reviewed the old equipment in the unit, and will post a detailed list on the membership . You will need to come to the unit to pick it up yourself. Cheryl will be at the unit next Saturday from 10 am 2 pm. Floors: Ed asked the status of working on the floors to be less slippery. Previously discussed by Jim. Jim is working on this and has done research around the wear and tear. Everyone is also welcome to research further. Fun Matches: going well and profitable. 7 "NOCI Awards Program" Have your dog honored with a plaque At its annual awards banquet, NOCI recognizes titles and major awards won by its members by giving each handler/dog team a plaque listing its accomplishments. Each year the plaque is updated to reflect new accomplishments. As written in the club bylaws, these are things you must do to be eligible for a plaque. Submit a record of your accomplishment on a NOCI score report form. To submit a score report, go to tinyurl.com/nociscore and enter the relevant information. To submit a score report in writing, download the form from the club website, fill it in, and place it in the WOOF Box in the club office, or mail to the awards chairperson (Judy Gemperline) All score reports MUST be submitted by December 31 of the year in which the title was earned. If you do not meet the deadline, the club will not pay for the engraving/ plaque. Provide one service to the club during the calendar year. Fill out the service form so we have a record. Attend at least one general membership meeting during the calendar year. Be sure to sign the attendance sheet whenever you attend a meeting. Due to the increasing number and expense of these awards, the club will be adhering to these guidelines very strictly. If you are eligible for a plaque you will receive a letter in early January listing the titles and awards which will go on the plaque. You will be asked to check it for accuracy and return it so that the plaque can be made or updated. You will receive the plaque in March at the awards banquet (or pick it up in the office later if you do not attend the banquet). Detailed instructions will come with the award letter in January.
