Angora Goats May leave the Showground on Saturday 8 September between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm. Exit permits to be lodged with the Goat Supervisor by noon on Thursday 6 September. Boer Goats May leave the Showground may leave the Showground on Sunday 9 September between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm. Exit permits to be lodged with the Goat Supervisor by noon on Friday 7 September. Mohair Fleeces may be removed from 4.00 pm on Saturday 8 September (and replaced with display fleeces) under the supervision of a Society Councilor or nominated Fleece Steward. Exhibitors are requested to include precise instructions as to the desired method of disposal at the conclusion of the Show. The Society will re-pack and readdress any exhibit to its place of origin (return postage to be included with entry fees). The Society accepts no responsibility loss or damage in packing and/or transit. Miniature Goats May leave the Showground between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm on Sunday 9 September. Exit permis to be lodged with the Goat Supervisor by noon on Saturday 8 September.

3 GOATS CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES (except Mohair) FRIDAY, 15 JUNE 2018 at 5.00 pm CST Mohair Only FRIDAY 29 JUNE 2018 at 5.00 pm CST CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES The following conditions will strictly apply: All entries, whether lodged in person or completed online (if applicable) must be in the Society s possession at its Administration Office by 5.00 pm (CST) on Friday 15 June 2018 Goats or 5.00 pm (CST) on Friday 29 June 2018 Mohair. Entry ms by facsimile or will not be accepted. A late entry option is available under the following conditions: Late entries may only be submitted online and will be accepted 7 days after the official closing date (by 5.00 pm CST) An additional fee equivalent to three times the standard entry fee is paid. Absolutely no exception to the above conditions will be made to any exhibitor under any circumstance. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ENTRIES Entries submitted online will be acknowledged via . Failure to do so may result in non-acceptance of entries. REFUNDS No refund of fees will be made after closing date of entries. MEMBERSHIP Exhibitors need not be members of the RA&HS, but members are entitled to a reduced entry fee (other than Led Goat Wether entries). Membership fees: Adults $165, Juniors $56 (under 18). The RA&HS reserves the right to inm prize sponsors of the details of recipients to enable distribution of their voucher/product prizes. Please note: by ticking the box to suppress your details, your name will appear in the Catalogue (if applicable) but your address will not. DUTY OF CARE It is important to ensure your own safety and that of all other site personnel, visitors and general public at the Adelaide Showground. All competitors have a Duty of Care to avoid exposing themselves or other people to situations which could lead to injury. This Duty of Care extends to the prevention of damage to property.

4 2 GOATS GENERAL REGULATIONS Exhibitors are reminded that the Society s General Regulations apply to all sections of the Show. A copy of the General Regulations can be obtained from the Society s website at or from the Society s Administration Office. Exhibitors should note that the General Regulations contain a number of provisions relevant to competitions and this Schedule including but not limited to, offences, penalties, prohibited drugs. As those conditions apply in addition to the regulations contained within this schedule, Exhibitors should familiarise themselves with the General Regulations. SPECIAL REGULATIONS Exhibitors are reminded that the Special Regulations contained within this Schedule are merely supplementary to and subject to the General Regulations. The members of the Society s Diverse Farming Committee shall have the authority to act on behalf of the Society to take any necessary action under these Special Regulations. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES Dairy Goat exhibitors must state on the entry m the animal s name, herd book number, tattoo letters and number, date of birth, sire, dam and name of breeder. Miniature Goat exhibitors must state on the entry m the animal s name, registration number, ear tag number, date of birth, sire, dam and name of breeder. Angora and Boer Goat exhibitors must enter animals in appropriate age classes and special classes. Proof of age, registration and ownership should be available at the time of inspection and judging. A goat cannot compete in a special or group class unless it has competed in its age class. OWNERSHIP All animals must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor, or held by the exhibitor under a written and recorded lease at the time of entry. TRANSFERS Please ensure exhibits are entered in the correct class at time of entry. No exhibit will be transferred to another class after the closing date of entries. REGISTRATION Dairy Goats must be registered with the Dairy Goat Society of Australia. Copies of Herd Book registration ms, and/or relevant transfer certificates to be submitted with entry ms. Boer Goats must be registered with Australian Breed Societies. Miniature Goats must be registered with the Miniature Goats Australia Association Inc. A copy of Registration Certficate will be required at check in and all goats must be owned by the exhibitor as indicated on the Registration Certificate unless a lessee s agreement is in place with MGA Registry. IDENTIFICATION - BOER GOATS Identification can be carried out in the following ways: Tattooing and Tagging A stud tag combined with an NLIS tag. IDENTIFICATION - MINIATURE GOATS Animals must have an NLIS tag in place and identification will be confirmed prior to judging. ENTRY PASSES Angora, Boer Goat, Dairy Goat and Miniature Goat exhibitors shall receive one 10 Day Show Pass per 6 head entered. Led Goat Wether exhibitors will receive five admit-one tickets per animal entered to a maximum of 40 tickets per day. WITHDRAWALS All withdrawals must be made in writing and can be sent via to: entries@adelaideshowground.com.au or faxed to (08) ed withdrawals must include Withdrawal in the subject line and the section (eg Goat Section), exhibitor name, class number, exhibit number (if known) and exhibit name (if applicable). Withdrawals must be made at least 24 hours prior to judging. PRIZES Dairy Goats, Miniature Goats & Angora: First, $11 and ribbon; second, $6 and ribbon; third, $4 and ribbon. Boer Goats: First, $20 and ribbon; second, $12 and ribbon; third, $8 and ribbon. Mohair: First, $7 and ribbon; second, $4 and ribbon; third, $3 and ribbon. Led Goat Wether: First, $30 and ribbon; second, $20 and ribbon; third $10 and ribbon Ribbons will also be awarded in accordance with the following table: 10 to 15 exhibits fourth ribbon 16 to 20 exhibits fifth ribbon Over 20 exhibits sixth ribbon

5 GOATS 3 PAYMENT OF PRIZE MONEY All prize money won during the Royal Adelaide Show is paid by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The Exhibitor should provide the BSB, Account Number and Account Name on the space provided on the entry m. PRIZE MONEY WILL BE PAID AT THE END OF OCTOBER. Any concerns regarding prize money must be raised with the Society by 11 December of the current year. Any trophy, prize or prize money not claimed by 11 December of the current year. shall be deemed feited by the exhibitor and the RA&HS shall no longer be liable to pay or provide the prize. PRIZE MONEY AND GST Prize money as stated in the Prize Schedule does not include GST. The prize money which we pay to successful exhibitors depends on inmation provided to us. If you confirm that you are GST registered and provide your Australian Business Number (ABN), we will pay the appropriate prize money plus 10% GST. We will provide you with a Recipient Created Tax Invoice which you will need to submit to the Australian Taxation Office. In entering the competition, you acknowledge your agreement to the following: You will not issue a tax invoice to the RA&HS in respect to prize money received; You will notify the RA&HS if you cease to be registered GST. If you provide your Australian Business Number but are not registered GST, we will pay the prize money as detailed in the Prize Schedule without reference to the GST. If you confirm you are entering as part of a private recreational pursuit or hobby, we will pay the prize money as detailed in the Prize Schedule without reference to GST. IMPORTANT It is important that you either: Confirm you are entering as part of a private recreational pursuit or hobby, or Confirm you are entering as a GST registered business and supply your ABN Failure to do either of the above will require the RA&HS to withhold tax, at the maximum tax rate, from your prize money in accordance with Australian tax legislation. The RA&HS is not a tax consultant and theree assumes no liability actions taken as a result of these guidelines. In any instances where an entrant or sponsor is uncertain of the tax implications of their involvement, they should consult their own accountant or tax advisor. The Society makes every endeavour to ensure all prizes listed are accurate at the time of printing. Should a prize (cash, voucher, product, trophy) be withdrawn by a sponsor subsequent to printing, the Society will pay prize money as stated above. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to follow-up with the Society any sponsored prize (cash, voucher, product, trophy) they believe they are entitled to prior to 11 December in the year of the prize being awarded. The Society will not follow-up prize sponsors after this date or review any prizes that may have been incorrectly awarded. RA&HS SASHES will be awarded to all CHAMPIONS RESERVE CHAMPIONS SUPREME CHAMPIONS MOST SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITORS TYPE PRODUCTION DOES and BEST EXHIBITS MOST SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITOR AWARDS - INDIVIDUAL BREEDS Points to be allotted as follows: First, 5 points; second, 3 points; third, 1 point.

6 4 GOATS DISPLAY CARDS Each exhibitor is permitted to display one sign every four pens entered occupied by exhibits, no larger than 1200 mm x 600mm. Logo, name and address of exhibitor only to be shown. Strictly no other decoration, delineation, description, display or promotion is allowed. Ribbons and sashes on display must relate to the animals in that pen. All awards must be removed as soon as winning animals leave the Showground. PEN CLEANING Exhibitors shall, to the satisfaction of the Goat Superintendent: 1. Keep each pen allotted to them and their stock in a clean and proper condition throughout the Show. 2. Clean out their pens bee 8.00 am each day. 3. Faecal waste must be placed directly into containers provided by the Society. Failure to comply with these rules shall render the exhibitor liable to a fine no less than $15 (GST included) each separate offence. Exhibitors are requested to provide their own brooms and shovels to clean out pens. PENS Rugs and bags must not be fixed to sides or tops of pens during the time the Show is open to the public. FIRE PRECAUTIONS Precautions will be taken to guard against fire, and to protect the property at the Show, but exhibits will not be insured at the cost of the Society. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all livestock pavilions and lockers. No exhibitor or other person shall remove, or displace, or interfere in any way with, or use any purpose other than the prevention of fire, any article or appliance provided use in the case of an outbreak of fire upon the Showground, nor shall any exhibitor or other person remove or alter, or add to, or interfere in anyway with any fixture, fitting, article, appliance or thing owned by the Society, or used in such fixture, fitting, article, appliance or thing any purpose other than which it is intended by the Society to be used. PENALTY FOR NON-EXHIBITION OF ANIMALS Every animal entered must be exhibited and paraded bee the judge in each class unless a certificate signed by the exhibitor or authorised agent, is lodged with the Society at least 14 days bee the opening day of the Show, stating that the animal is unable to compete. A fine of $100 (GST included) will be imposed all late scratching s unless the scratching is notified by a statutory declaration setting out full reasons scratching, together with an explanatory certificate signed by a Veterinary Surgeon. Notification must be received by 9.00 am on the day prior to judging. Non-payment of these fines will debar exhibitors from parading their remaining goats bee the judge. Exhibits may not be removed from the judging ring until directed by the RA & HS Supervisor. Failure to comply with this regulation may result in exhibitors being banned from competing in any further classes during the current Show and/ or fined. The Society may also impose further penalties if deemed appropriate. HEALTH REGULATIONS All Goats attending the Royal Adelaide Show must be accompanied by a completed National Goat Health Statement obtained at farmbiosecurity.com.au/toolkit/declarations-andstatements/ The Statement must be completed in full and submitted with entry m/s. Dairy Goats 1. Johne s Disease The minimum Royal Adelaide Show requirement is that goats be Assurance Score 5 Goats will be exhibited at the Show in order of Goat Assurance Score ranking. 2.CAE Entries from Accredited / DGSSA Inc. Market Assurance Scheme CAE herds shall be accepted if accompanied by: - a) A copy of the current Accreditation MASSA CAE certificate. Entries from NON accredited or NON DGSSA Inc. Market Assurance Scheme CAE herds shall be accepted if: - b) Goats over 12 months of age.- must have two whole herd negative blood tests, 6 months apart, within the previous 12 months. Attach vet report & results to National Goat Health Statement when submitting your application c) Kids 6-12 months. i) Accompanied by test results one blood test CAE within the previous 12 months

7 GOATS 5 ii) Non-owner bred kids must comply with Section 2.c. d) Kids less than 6 months. i)owner bred kids less than 6 months will be covered by Section 2.a. or b and do not require testing at this age. ii) Non-owner bred kids less than 6 months of age should be accompanied by two CAE negative-whole herd tests of the herd of origin, as in 2 b above. Miniature Goats All Miniature Goats entered competition must have been tested negative CAE and Johnes Disease within 12 months of competition. Attach vet report and results to National Goat Health Statement when submitting your application. Entries under 12 months of age must come from a tested herd or Sire and Dam have tested negative within the previous 12 months and kids have not been exposed to any risk factors. Angora Goats & Boer Goats The minimum Royal Adelaide Show require ment is that goats be Assurance Score 5 Goats will be exhibited at the Show in order of Goat Assurance Score ranking. Exhibitors requiring a Johne s Disease Certificate of Compliance from the RA&HS can obtain a copy from the Administration Department ( ) SICK OR DISEASED ANIMALS If, in the opinion of a qualified Veterinary Surgeon appointed by the Society, an animal on the Showground shall be so injured or be so affected by sickness, disease or other ailment as to warrant its destruction or its removal from the Showground as the case may be the Society shall be entitled to have the animal destroyed and/or require the animal to be thwith removed from the Showground and the exhibitor, upon receipt of such notice, shall thwith remove such animal and failing such removal by him within the time prescribed by the Society, by written notice to the exhibitor or his representative on the Showground, the Society may remove the animal or cause the animal to be removed and all costs and expenses of removal shall be borne by the exhibitor and shall be refunded to the Society. Each such animal shall at all times be the sole risk and responsibility of the exhibitor and the person or persons removing the animal shall at all times be deemed to be the agents of the exhibitor and all acts and omissions on the part of such person or persons shall be deemed to be the acts and omissions of the exhibitor who shall indemnify and hold indemnified the Society, its servants and agents from all claims whatsoever in respect of the animal whether by reason of any loss or injury to or caused by the animal or because of transportation, feeding or housing or otherwise, howsoever. The pavilion supervisor must be advised immediately of any sick or diseased animals attended to by the Society s Veterinary Surgeon. NLIS REQUIREMENTS - ALL EXHIBITORS All goats must be NLIS compliant. This means all animals must be tagged with an approved NLIS eartag (including kids at foot), and accompanied by a completed National Vendor Declaration (NVD) or approved alternative movement document available at Eligible dairy goat exhibitors may be exempt from tagging if they are in receipt of a letter of exemption from the CVO (they still require movement documents). The Society will notify the NLIS database of all movements onto the Showground on behalf of exhibitors.

8 6 GOATS BEDDING Straw will be the bedding in the Alpaca & Goat Pavilion at this year s Royal Adelaide Show. PARADES Dairy Goats must be paraded in Grand Parades, where possible. Angora and Boer Goats may be paraded at the discretion of the exhibitor. WHITE ATTIRE Exhibitors and/or attendants shall wear white dust coats or attire acceptable to their Breed Societies when leading goats in the judging ring and in parades. No exhibitor, or his attendant shall parade stock bee the judge whilst wearing attire bearing his name or the name of the stud which he works. CONFORMATION OF GOATS An inspection will be made of all Dairy Goats identification tattoo, breed type, conmation and vermin, from 7.00 pm on Thursday 30 August and from 9.00 am on Friday 31 August. An inspection will be made of all Miniature Goats on Friday 7 September. All animals will be measured - any animal not measured will be ineligible to complete. Heights age classes are listed in the MGA Show Rules. This will take place in the Pavilion and an attendant must be present to supply any inmation required by the inspectors. Any animal rejected as a result of this inspection must be removed from the Showground, the time of removal to be at the discretion of the Committee. LOCKERS A limited number of lockers are available Dairy Goat and Led Goat Wether exhibitors on the Showground at $75 (GST included) per locker whether shared or not, regardless of duration of use. Only current RA&HS members may apply a locker. FODDER Exhibitors must arrange their own fodder requirements. The sale of all fodder is in the hands of the fodder merchant, whose store is on the Showground. All sales will be by selected credit card or cash only. Any exhibitor who, in the opinion of the Committee, has more fodder than is considered necessary, will be required to remove the excess from the Showground. Exhibitors must not solicit orders fodder on the Showground. MILKING Goats entered in milking classes must be milked and stripped out in the presence of a Steward by 7.00 pm on Friday 31 August. AGES OF DAIRY GOATS The table below shows the dates on or between which goats must be born to compete in the respective age classes. The ages of all exhibits shall be calculated to 31 August of the current year, provided that no animal unborn at closing date of entries will be accepted competition (with the exception of under 4 months classes). Under 4 months (after 30/04/18) Under 12 months (after 31/08/17) 12 months and under 18 months (28/02/17 to 31/08/17) 18 months and under 24 months (31/08/16 to 29/02/16) Under 3 years (on or after 31/08/15) 3 years and under 6 years (31/08/12 to 31/08/15) 6 years and over (bee 31/08/12)

9 GOATS 7 DAIRY GOATS Class 1 - Veteran doe in milk, any breed, 6 years and over. Breed to be shown on entry m. Highest placed doe of each breed is eligible senior breed championships. Class 2 - Saanen Doe in milk, 3 years and under 6 years. Class 3 - Anglo Nubian Doe in milk, 3 years and under 6 years. Class 4 - Toggenburg Doe in milk, 3 years and under 6 years. Class 5 - British Alpine Doe in milk, 3 years and under 6 years. Class 6 - Saanen Doe in milk, under 3 years. Class 7 - Anglo Nubian Doe in milk, under 3 years. Class 8 - Toggenburg Doe in milk, under 3 years. Class 9 - British Alpine doe in milk, under 3 years. Class 10 - Any Other breed doe in milk, under 6 years. Must be registered by the Dairy Goat Society of Australia Ltd Class 11 - Doe, dry, any age and breed. must have kidded within the last two years. Highest placed doe of each breed are eligible senior breed championships. Breed to be stated on entry m. Class 12 - THE ABACUS DAIRY GOAT TROPHY Doe, with Best Udder, on first lactation, to be judged in milk and milked out. Name of animal not required on the entry m. Points to be allotted as follows: Type points maximum; Production points will be allotted to the doe with the highest Q*points. Other entries will be awarded on a pro rata basis. Provision of production figures is the responsibility of the exhibitor. 10 8 GOATS Class Hour Milk Production Test. Name of animal not required on the entry m. 1. Entries in this class must be milked and stripped out under inspection at 7pm on Tuesday 29 August. 2. All animals in the class shall be milked at 7am and 7pm on Wednesday 30 August. This milk shall be weighed and sampled, the two samples to be processed by an approved testing company at a later date. 3. The test is designed to show yields under normal feeding conditions - no entry may be ce-fed or drenched during the test or 24 hours prior to its commencement. 4. No animal fats, milk or milk products or any product designed to artificially stimulate lactation may be given to entries in the class during the test or 24 hours prior to its commencement. 5. Placings shall be determined on the weight of milk. Any animal with a butterfat yield of less than 3% shall be ineligible a prize. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES The competition is open to all Tertiary bodies and Schools in South Australia. Exhibitors may submit a maximum of eight entries but are permitted to nominate up to two reserve animals to allow late injuries, sickness etc. Reserve entries do not incur an entry fee. Exhibitors may not bring more than eight animals onto the Showground. Any animal not listed on the original entry m may not be brought onto the Showground. 25 Animal Exhibitors Public Liability Insurance (Explanation) WHEREAS The Royal and Horticultural Society of South Australia Inc. has agreed to effect a Public Liability insurance certain Animal Exhibitors at the 2017 Adelaide Show, the following applies:- Insured Party Period of Insurance Insured Activities Description of Cover Amount of Cover Deductible Geographic Limits Claims Payable Insurer(s) Address Policy Number Important Conditions Animal and Livestock Exhibitors participating in competitions and events From seven days prior to the Show until seven days thereafter All activities undertaken whilst within and from the confines of the event venue consistent with the Insured s livestock exhibit activity including setting up and removal Insurance in respect of the Insured Party s liability to pay costs and compensation in respect of loss of or damage to third party property and death of or injury to third party persons or advertising liability caused by and arising out of the Insured activities, all subject to the RAHSSA s policy terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties, etc. $10,000,000 any one occurrence $10,000 any one occurrence At and from the event venue Worldwide excluding claims made USA and Canada Primary $10,000,000 Lloyds of London London Underwriting Centre, 3 Minster Court, Mincing Lane, London EC3R 7DD PC The Insured Party must exercise reasonable care to maintain all premises, fittings and plant in sound condition. The Insured Party must take all reasonable precautions to prevent injury and damage to persons and property. The Insured Party must give immediate notice of an incident which may give rise to a claim or of receipt of advice of a claim. The Insured Party must not make any admission, offer or promise in connection with any claim and must not any time admit liability.

26 Important Conditions (continued) The Insured Party must made themselves aware of and comply with the following Notices:- Duty of Disclosure Bee you enter into a contract of General insurance with an insurer, you have a duty, under the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 as amended, to disclose to the insurer every matter that you know, or could reasonably be expected to know, is relevant to the insurer s decision whether to accept the risk of the insurance and, if so, on what terms. You have the same duty to disclose these matters to the insurer bee you renew, extend, vary or reinstate a contract of General insurance. Your duty however, does not require disclosure of matter:- that diminishes the risk to be undertaken by the insurer that is of common knowledge that your insurer knows or, in the ordinary course of his business, ought to know. Non-Disclosure If you fail to comply with your duty of disclosure, the insurer may be entitled to reduce his liability under the contract in respect of a claim or may cancel the contract. If your non-disclosure is fraudulent, the insurer may also have the option of avoiding the contract from its beginning. Average Provision The insurer will pay legal expenses in addition to the sum insured, if however, the total amount of the loss (less legal expenses) ultimately paid to the claimant(s) exceeds the sum insured then insurers will only pay (in addition to the sum insured) that proportion of the legal expenses as the sum insured bears to the loss. Third Party Interests This policy will only provide cover your interest and does not cover the interests of any third party (e.g. financiers, lessors, etc) unless the interests of the third party are noted in the policy. Waiver of Insurer s Rights You must not enter into any agreement without the written authority of the insurer whereby any of their rights to which they become entitled as your insurer after settling or agreeing to settle a claim are prejudiced or limited in any way otherwise all benefit under the policy will be feited. To do so may breach the policy conditions and enable insurers to avoid settlement.
