1 May 2016 Dear Open Goat Show Exhibitor, The Troy Fair will be offering an Open Dairy/Breeding Goat show at the 2016 Fair. The show will be organized to incorporate Dairy and Meat Breeding Goats. Entry Fees will be $4.00 per animal and classes and premiums are as listed below. Rules and Health Requirements for all goats entering the fairgrounds have also been included. The Open Dairy/Breeding Goat Show at Troy Fair will be held on Friday, July 29 starting at 9am combined with the 4-H Breeding Goat Roundup in the Swine Arena. Entry forms have been included-they are due at the Extension Office by June 1, The show will run with Dairy Breeds competing first followed by Dairy Fitting and showmanship, Meat Breeding classes and Meat Breeding Fitting and Showmanship. Group Classes will be held last. Goats should arrive at the fairgrounds between 6:00pm and 8:00pm on Thursday July 28 th. They will be housed in the Swine Barn with the 4-H Breeding Goats. A Gate Pass Form has been included. Open show exhibitors are entitled to free passes for Thursday, Friday and Saturday and $1.00 passes for 2 family members. If you are showing 5 to 9 goats you are entitled to three $1.00 passes and showing 10 or more goats you are entitled to four $1.00 passes. Exhibitors are required to clean their pens upon departure. No metal Shovels or cleaning utensils are allowed to be used on the barn floor during clean up!

2 Troy Fair Open Dairy/Breeding Goat Show Show is Friday, July 29, am Arrival Time Goats need to arrive by 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28. All goats must be checked for signs of disease before they can unload. Check Out Animals will need to stay until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29. Unless otherwise discussed with show committee. Ownership All goats must be owned by the exhibitor by May 15, Entry Deadline Entries are due at the Extension office by June 1, Bedding, Hay and Feed All bedding, hay and other feed is to be furnished by the exhibitor Exhibitors are responsible for the removal of manure and bedding from the barns to a central collection point. Wheelbarrows are suggested bring your own or share. No metal shovels or cleaning utensils! **When filling out your entry form in the Class section put the letter that coincides with your animals breed and the number that coincides with its age. ** Dairy/Meat Breeding Goat Classes A. 4 Health Requirements Section 10: Pennsylvania Goats: Requirements for PA goats: Individual official animal identification is required for all goats. Official ID includes: A USDA ear tag with a US shield ; or A legible tattoo with herd and individual identification recognized in an approved USDA Scrapie database;or Goats having a breed registration tattoo and accompanied by a registration certificate are exempt from the scrapie ID requirement if the tattoo is legible and a registration certificate (copy acceptable) or a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection which lists the tattoo and registry accompanies the animal at all times during transport from the premises of birth. Recommendations for Fair Animal Health Requirements: 1. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued after May 1, All animals must be free of infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this should be written on the CVI. Section 11: Out of State Goats: Requirements: 1. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued within the 30 days prior to the date of importation. 2. Vesicular Stomatitis (VS): (applies to states that experienced a Vesicular Stomatitis outbreak in the last 12 months). An accredited veterinarian shall determine whether the animals are free from VS, and animals shall be accompanied by a CVI with the following statement signed by the accredited veterinarian: All animals identified on this certificate of veterinary inspection have been examined and found to be free from VS. During the past 90 days, these animals were not located within 10 miles of a site where VS has been diagnosed. 3. All animals must be free of infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this is required on the CVI. 4. Individual official animal identification is required for all goats. Testing requirements: Tuberculosis: No test is required for animals originating from Accredited Free states or zones. All animals originating from states or zones designated Modified Accredited Advanced must be test negative within the 60 days prior to the date of importation. The negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a negative test report (a copy of the original report is acceptable). All animals originating from states or zones designated Modified Accredited must originate from herds in which all animals 12 months of age and older have tested negative within the 12 months prior to the date of importation; and the individual animals (all ages) to be imported have also tested negative within the 60 days prior to the date of importation

5 and at least 60 days after the negative whole herd test was completed. The negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a negative test report (a copy of the original test report is acceptable). 11 Troy Fair Open Goat Show Rules and Regulations 1. Entry blanks must be postmarked on or before June 1, No entries will be accepted after this date. Please use provided entry form. 2. An entry fee of $4.00 per animal must accompany the entry blank. Entry fee must be submitted with entry form. There will be NO on the spot changes without voiding the individual class entry. 3. Open Exhibitors do not have to show their own animal. They may have their animals shown by another person representing them. 4. Exhibitors must provide own feed, bedding, buckets, hoses, hay feeder and general supplies. No Metal Shovels or utensils to be used on the barn floor. 5. No exhibitor may have more than 3 entries in each class. Exhibitors limited to 20 animals each. 6. Drugs administered to livestock prior to or during the fair for the purpose of controlling disposition or showmanship performance is prohibited. 7. Exhibitors will be expected to display or parade their animals as directed by the Chairman, to accept the stall assigned without controversy, to keep animals in an attractive appearance, and to cooperate with the Department in every way that may serve to increase the educational value of the show. Any unsportsmanlike conduct will result in dismissal. 8. Exhibitors must have all animals listed for competition on the grounds no later than 8:00 P.M., Thursday July 28. All such animals shall remain on the premises until 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 29 unless otherwise discussed with the show committee. 9. No bucks allowed. Disbudding of all animals is encouraged. 10. The exhibitors should make every effort to keep their animals and immediate area as clean and neat as possible. 11. All Dairy animals should not be shown with horns. Horns are acceptable for Meat Breeding animals.
