Online entries must be completed by 12:00 (midnight), Thursday, May 18 th. Enter online at All 2017 State Rules for California apply. 2. Open to 4-H & FFA Exhibitors who meet the local 4-H or FFA specifications for entry in this department. 4-H and FFA exhibitors must be enrolled in the project for 60 days prior to the receiving date. 3. Management reserves the right to return entries when available facilities are filled. 4. All 4-H & FFA exhibitors must be in official uniform at time of showing and must bring their own animal to and from the show table for judging and must be present when their animal is judged. Contact superintendent concerning time conflicts H & FFA Exhibitors must furnish feed and make arrangements for the feeding of their animals and will use only facilities, waterers and feeders provided by the Stanislaus County Fair. Failure by the exhibitor to care for his or her animals will be grounds for immediate dismissal from the show and withdrawal of all premiums and awards. 6. The Fair will NOT provide bedding for any species. All Exhibitors will be responsible for providing their own shavings. There will be an onsite store that will have bedding and other items available for purchase. 7. All pens must be cleaned by 9 a.m. daily. Except show days when pens must be cleaned NO LATER than 8 a.m. 8. Ice chests, chairs, show tables will not be allowed in the rabbit or poultry barns. Show table exception on show days. 9. All tack must be stored daily in the designated lounge area which needs to be kept cleaned and organized at all times. Carrying cages are not allowed except on show days and must be kept in the lounge area unless being used to coop animals during judging H & FFA Exhibitors are expected to groom and care for their own animal(s) when at the fair. Exhibitors shall refrain from accepting active assistance from adults and nonexhibiting youth unless the junior exhibitor is actively engaged, and the assistance is only for instruction. The use of professional groomers will be cause for disqualification of the member and/or animals. Disqualification consists of withholding premium money and ribbons, elimination from further competition and/or removal from the auction. The intent of this rule is for junior exhibitors to work on their own animals. 11. Animals will be shown & judged in the proper division & class for breed, variety, age & sex. 12. The Stanislaus County Fair is not responsible for loss, death, or injury of any animals. All possible care will be taken to protect all animals. 13. Coop-out time will be under the supervision of the show Superintendent. Rabbits & Poultry will not be removed from the fairgrounds before the release date as printed in the exhibitor handbook except as determined by Fair Management in cases of sickness, accident, death, disciplinary actions or other circumstances which are in the best interests of the fair. 14. All awards must be picked up at close of show, they will not be mailed. All premiums mailed. 15. The scales used for determination of weight are to be provided by the Stanislaus County Fair only. ~ 2 ~

3 FAIR PASSES CREDENTIALS Exhibitors must enter and pay for passes online by the May 18th deadline on the fair s website NOTE: No refunds will be issued for parent/exhibitor/parking passes. 4-H, FFA, Independent Exhibitors, Leader, Advisor and Parent Pass Assignment Policy as follows: Livestock Exhibitors with entries in Livestock, Junior Rabbits or Poultry 1. Parking Pass = $5.00 (for parking in the West parking lot) LIMIT one (1) Parking pass per family. 2. Fair ID Pass = $10.00 (for entrance to the Fair from Friday, July 14th through Sunday, July 23 rd ). 3. Parent Pass = $30.00 LIMIT two (2) Parent Passes per family. Exhibitors with entries in Horse, Cavy, Dog, Youth Mini Rabbit/Cavy/Poultry or Non- Animal entries 1. Two (2) Single Day Admission Passes - Not available to Exhibitors receiving a Fair ID Pass as an Exhibitor or as Fair Staff. Community Leaders and Advisors 1. 4-H Leaders & FFA Advisors of Livestock, Rabbit and Poultry Projects will receive a Fair ID Pass and a Parking Pass. Special Note for 4-H Project Leaders - There is a limit of one (1) Project Leader pass and one (1) Parking Pass per 4 exhibitors H Leaders & FFA Advisors of Horse, Cavy, Dog or Non-Animal entries will be issued a single day admission. NEW Deadlines for purchasing Exhibitor/Parent/Parking Passes. 1. To purchase your passes online and have them available for pick up at the Leader/Advisors Meeting on June 20 th, all Exhibitors must do so no later than May 18 th, Passes purchased between May 19 th and June 15 th must be purchased at the Livestock office (cash only) and will be $20 for Exhibitor pass/$10 for Parking Pass/$60 for Parent Passes (if eligible). These passes can be picked up after June 20 th in the Livestock Office. 3. No passes can be purchased after June 15 th, NOTE: A meeting is scheduled at the Stanislaus County Fair building E5 on Tuesday, June 20 th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This is for 4-H Community Leaders and FFA Advisors to pick up their club or chapter fair packets as distributed by fair staff. The packets will include Exhibitor, Leader/Advisor, Parent passes and ear tags for the fair (as applicable). Attendance is strongly encouraged. Any Leaders or Advisors that are unable to attend the meeting must schedule a credential appointment through the Livestock Office. Community Leaders and/or Advisors must call the Livestock Office at (209) to schedule the appointment. Appointments will only be scheduled for Wednesday, June 21 st and Thursday, June 22 nd. ~ 3 ~

RULES FOR RABBIT DEPARTMENT 1. Rules, definitions and judging procedures as described in the latest edition of the Guide Book and Standard of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, Inc. shall apply to all district and county rabbit shows, provided they do not conflict with any of the rules and regulations prescribed by the Department of Food and Agriculture. American Rabbit Breeders Association, Erik Stewart, Secretary, P.O. Box 566, Bloomington, Illinois Stanislaus County Fair rules may supersede A.R.B.A. rules where matters of policy or procedures are involved. A.R.B.A. age rule does apply. If you turn 19 years old before Monday, July 17, 2017 you cannot show in the breed show. 2. All animals must be identified by permanent ear markings conforming to the entry form on arrival at the show. No substitutions will be allowed except in the same division, class, breed, sex & variety. All Substitutions must be made at check-in. NO SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED AFTER 12:00 NOON ON FRIDAY JULY 14, Absolutely no tattooing permitted on the fairgrounds. 3. LIMIT: (2) entries per class, per variety, per breed, per exhibitor, including the breed fur classes. (i.e. Exhibitor may enter 2 Blue Dutch Jr Does, 2 Black Dutch Jr Does, etc.). This limit does not include the meat pens and single fryer rabbits. Refer to rule #2 under the rabbit meat pen and single fryer divisions. No more than two (2) cash awards are paid, per class, per exhibitor. 4. In the event there are not enough coops for rabbit entries, exhibitors will be limited to the number of rabbit entries allowed on show day. The fair reserves the right to determine the number of rabbits each exhibitor is required to coop at the fair. EACH CLUB/CHAPTER WILL BE ASSIGNED THE NUMBER OF CAGES THAT THEY NEED TO FILL. ALL CAGES ASSIGNED WILL NEED TO BE FILLED. However, every exhibitor is required to have at least one animal cooped throughout the fair. SHOWMANSHIP RABBIT MUST BE ONE OF YOUR COOPED ANIMALS. 5. All classes will be judged to correspond with the A.R.B.A. STANDARD OF PERFECTION. 6. "FOR SALE" signs are not permitted on cages, however, 3" X 5" cards may be posted if approved. Rabbits NOT entered in the show will not be allowed on grounds. 7. Rabbits (including meat pens and single fryers) must be owned by the exhibitor for 30 days. The official ownership date is the date shown on the receipt of sale unless the exhibitor bred the animal H & FFA Exhibitors must abide by the Small Animal and Rabbit Department General Rules, unless otherwise stated. 9. All rabbits MUST be checked in by 12 (noon) on Friday, July 14 th. No ear number changes will be allowed after check-in on Friday, July 14 th, no exceptions. 10. The class number is determined by age and sex of the animal. 11. Important: Please consult an American Rabbit Breeder's Standard of Perfection for information concerning varieties and appropriate weights for the classes in each breed. 6 RABBIT MEAT PENS & SINGLE FRYERS NO CASH AWARDS ENTRY FEE : $3.50 per entry Additional Rules for meat pens and single fryers 1. Rabbit meat pens are considered market animals and are part of the 2-species market rule. Single fryer rabbits are excluded from the 2-species market animal rule. 2. LIMIT: Exhibitor can enter 2 market animals, of different species, but can only sell one market animal at the fair. One (1) rabbit meat pen is considered one (1) market entry. Note Single Fryer Rabbits are excluded from the market rule, only the champions sell at auction (same as poultry). Exhibitors are limited to enter no more than (5) Single Fryers. 3. ALL Group 1 rabbit meat pens sell at auction on Saturday, July 22 nd at 9am. 4. IMPORTANT: Exhibitors that do NOT want their Group 1 Rabbit Meat Pen to sell, excluding Supreme & Reserve Supreme Champions and Grand & Reserve Grand Champions, must declare at the Livestock Office no later than one hour after the end of judging. If an Exhibitor is showing 2 Market Animals, the Exhibitor must declare at least 1 Market Animal after the judging of the last animal species judged. If an Exhibitor does not declare, by signature in the Livestock Office as stated, Fair staff will remove the lowest placing animal from the auction if the Exhibitor has 2 Market Animals. 5. No premium money will be paid on any animal that goes through auction. 6. Exhibitor must be in uniform for weigh-in and judging. 7. Only one rabbit per exhibitor may be entered for showmanship class, and that animal must be entered in the Junior Rabbit breed show or the Market show divisions at the 2017 Fair. 2. Animals shown in showmanship must be owned, entered and shown by the exhibitor in a Rabbit division to be eligible, under the provisions of State Rule Section VII, Rule Each exhibitor will be judged individually by the judge. The top ten in each class could be called back by the judge for tie breakers. There will be no elimination round in showmanship. 4. Exhibitors must be in complete 4-H/FFA uniform to compete in showmanship. See requirements for uniforms in this handbook under General Information. 5. Judging tables and rugs are provided. 6. Each exhibitor is responsible for keeping his/her animal under control at all times. 7. Age requirements as noted. 8. The winners of Advanced Showmanship will be eligible to compete in the Small Animal Master Showmanship 4-H True Novice Showmanship 1. Open to any 4-H member, who has never shown that species before at any organized show/fair, regardless of grade level. 2. Winner of 4-H True Novice Showmanship is not eligible to move up to the next class for the final round. 4-H Novice Showmanship 1. Open only to 4-H members, 9 & 10 years old regardless of the number of years in 4-H. 2. All animals must be brought to the fair on Thursday, July 20, Check in is between 8:00 and 8:30 am. 4. Dress up costume/show enclosure should be no larger than twice the size of the animal. 5. Because of the need for heightened awareness of poultry biosecurity and recent outbreaks of infectious diseases in the poultry industry, State Poultry Health Guidelines will be strictly adhered to. 3. All birds will be inspected upon delivery to fair. All poultry will be inspected in the West Parking Lot prior to being allowed on the fairgrounds. This includes meat pens, turkeys and exhibition birds. Please use the West Parking Lot Gate off Soderquist Road for inspection. Exhibits will then be allowed to enter the fairgrounds as directed by fair staff. There will be no birds allowed in vehicles or otherwise, on the fairgrounds that have not passed inspection per State Poultry Health Rules. 4. Any bird exhibiting evidence of disease or presence of external parasites will not be admitted to the fairgrounds. 5. All birds must be carried to the inspector and carry cages are recommended. Birds in free run trailers will not be inspected in the trailer due to safety concerns for the inspector. However, special provisions for free run trailers are available. 6. All birds entered in the fair may require blood tests either prior to or after the show. 7. All State and Local rules apply. 8. A judge may excuse a bird from competition if it appears fatigued or out of condition. 9. All Jr. Exhibition Birds & Turkeys must be leg banded with regulation numbered bands (plastic or metal). Leg bands must be provided by the exhibitor and listed on the entry form (except meat pens). Meat Pen leg bands will be provided by the fair and be given to leaders and or advisors during the fair meeting. All birds must be banded for the health inspection check. The Fair does not provide leg bands for Jr. Exhibition Poultry or Turkey entries. 10. No "For Sale" signs will be allowed on the cages. No sales may take place on grounds, except through approved auction. 11. Birds are entered at the owner's risk. Judges and show personnel are not responsible in any way for theft, death or injury to birds. All reasonable precautions will be taken to insure the bird's safety. 12.
