Breed Champion - $50 and banner Reserve Breed Champion - $25 and banner Supreme Breeding Gilt Champion - $ and banner Reserve Supreme Breeding Gilt Champion - $ and banner (Money contingent on number of entries payback based on 100 entries) PUREBRED BARROW SHOW: Saturday, May 11, 2019 following Breeding Gilt Show. Breed Champions - Awarded based on entries. Breed Champion - $50.00 and banner Reserve Breed Champion - $25.00 and banner Supreme Market Barrow Champion - $ and a banner Supreme Reserve Champion Market Barrow Champion - $ and banner (Money contingent on number of entries payback based on 100 entries) HOG SHOW GUIDELINES 1. Exhibitors must be 21 years of age or younger as of Jan. 1, All swine must be blood tested PRV and Brucellosis negative within 30 days of the show and have an official health certificate. All out-of-state swine must have a prior permit number on the health certificate. Please be timely in bleeding your hogs to facilitate the return of your health certificate prior to show date. 3. Entries are open to the world. 4. Purebred gilts with registration certificates will be shown by age. They will be shown by breed if 8 or more of that breed is entered. If there are not enough for a breed class, they will show in the AOB class. Purebred gilt entries must be registered Berkshire, Chester White, Duroc, Hampshire, Hereford, Landrace, Poland China, Spotted or Yorkshire gilts that are farrowed on or after Nov. 1, Crossbred gilts must weigh 375 pounds or less. 6. Market barrows and purebred barrows will be shown by weight. Purebred Barrows will be shown by breed if 8 or more of that breed is entered. If there are not enough for that breed class, they will show in the AOB class. 7. All barrows (purebred and crossbred) must weigh no more than 290 pounds. 8. Purebred barrows must be registered in the junior exhibitor's name, exhibitor's family name, or exhibitor's farm name. 9. Exhibitors must bring their original pedigree and a copy of their pedigree to check-in. 10. No boars! 11. The barn will open at Friday May 10th, at 6:00 pm. 12. Check in will be Friday 6-10pm, and Saturday May 11th 8-11am. ( if you are running later than 10pm on Friday call us ahead of time) 13. All Cross Gilts, and Purebred and Market Barrows must be weighed and registered gilts must be checked in by May 11th at 11:00am. 14. There will be no reweighs after the pigs leave the scale area. The official scales are provided by the GA National Fair and Agricenter.

3 15. There is no limit to the number of entries per exhibitor. 16. All entries must be postmarked by May 1, The entry fee is $15.00 per pig. Late entries accepted after May 1 at $30 per pig. 17. Pens are $8 each, must specify number of pens needed. 18. The committee reserves the right to refund money to entries if the number of entries exceeds pen space. All entries should be mailed to Southeast Summer Showdown J. Cravey 5716 Rhine Hwy, Eastman, GA Entry fees cannot be switched from one exhibitor to another. 20. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. 21. Market Barrow Show: Barrows will show by weight. Purebreds and Crossbreds will show separately. All purebred barrows must be registered with a proper registration certificate from the National Swine Registry or CPS for their respective breed. The Judge will select a Grand Champion and a Reserve Champion Market Purebred Barrow, and a Grand Champion and a Reserve Champion Market Cross Barrow. All market hog entries must have a clean, readable ear tag in place last 3 numbers of the 840 tag will be sufficient. Purebred Barrows do not have to have ear tags but must be ear notched according to their registration certificate.purebred entries must be farrowed on or after Nov 1, Cross Barrows must be ear notched, and on entry form list the last 3 numbers of the 840 tag for additional identification. A minimum of 8 head will be required to hold a breed show. 22. Breeding Gilt Shows: All purebred gilts must be registered with a proper registration certificate from the National Swine Registry or CPS for their respective breed. Showmanship: Showmanship will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11th, Exhibitors must pay a $5.00 entry fee for the showmanship jackpot. Classes will be broken by Novice (8 and under), Junior (9-12), Intermediate (13-16), and Senior (17-21). All ages are as of Jan. 1 of the current year. Showmanship will be shown from youngest to oldest. Prize money for showmanship will be strictly a jackpot prize of money collected per showmanship division. a. Showmanship is open to any exhibitor who does not show a gilt or barrow at the Southeast Summer Showdown, however, the animal used must be entered in the show. The exhibitor must enter and pay $5 entry fee. 22. The rules committee reserves the right to interpret all rules. Decision of the judge and the rules committee will be final.
