Use one entry form for each youth entering. No telephone or fax entries. No exhibitor under the age of 18 will be allowed to register without the permission of a parent or adult guardian. Stalling requests MUST be made by mailing all exhibitor entries together, NO EXCEPTIONS. This show is one of the sanctioned Shows for the MI Shows program. ELIGIBILITY: Open to youth that are between the ages of 8 and 21 as of January 1st, All cattle must be solely owned by the exhibitor making the entry. 2. ENTRIES: Entry fees are a non-refundable $50 for each entered animal. Entries must be postmarked on or before Friday, January 8, Late entries are an additional $25 per head. An exhibitor may enter up to 4 breeding heifers and 4 market animals. THE EXHIBITORS MUST SHOW THEIR OWN ANIMAL. ID MAY BE REQUIRED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE SHOW COMMITTEE. 3. STALLING REQUESTS: To specifically stall with another exhibitor, your entries must be received in the same envelope; Stalling assignments are based on the date of receipt of the entries. Exhibitors do not have to clean their stalls. Exhibitors will be stalled in the main arena until filled. Excess entries will have the option to show from their trailer or will be assigned a stall in the unheated auxiliary barns. 4. CHECK-IN: Market animals will be checked in from 2pm- 8pm Friday January 22nd. The check-in for breeding animals will be from 6-8pm Saturday January 23rd. Pick up exhibitor packets before taking cattle to check-in. Registration certificates must be presented at check-in time. Tattoos and RFID tags (required) will be checked and must correspond to registration papers. Registration applications, faxes or photocopies will not be accepted. Market Heifers that wish to show on Saturday in the Prospect Steer and Market Heifer Show and also on Sunday in the Breeding Heifer Show must be entered and pay entry fees twice, once for each show. Animals can only enter the check-in chute one time. 5. ANY OTHER REGISTERED BREEDS & COMMERCIAL/ MARKET DIVISION: The AOB division will include all breeds not listed in the show times and order section. Market animals that are not registered will be shown in the crossbred steer or market heifer or commercial heifer division. Crossbred steers and market heifers will be shown by weight. 6. BREED REQUIREMENTS: For the following breeds, the animal must meet the percentage requirement listed below. -Simmentals 50% -Limousine 50% Steers, 75% Heifers. -Maine- 5/8 -Maintainer-25% -Shorthorn Plus- 3/8th or more Shorthorn with Shorthorn Plus registration papers and Durham Reds.

3 7. AWARDS: Champion breed heifers and steers will receive $75, and Reserve breed champions will receive $50. Top 5 Overall Market Animals and Breeding Heifers will receive $600 for Grand Champion, $500 for Reserve Champion, $400 for 3rd Best, $300 for 4th Best and $100 for 5 th Best. 8. SHOWMANSHIP: There will be only one showmanship contest for market and breeding animals. It will be Saturday at 4 PM after the conclusion of the market animal show. Participants can sign-up for showmanship during check-in times for $10. The order will start with juniors (8 to 12), followed by intermediates (13 to 15), and ending with seniors (16-21). Classes will be divided by age as of January 1st, Exhibitors must show their own animal. 9. The Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity shall not be responsible or liable, either directly or indirectly, for any injury to animals, or the death thereof, and shall not be responsible or liable, either directly or indirectly, for any loss or damage to personal property, or for any personal injuries suffered on the premises in connection with this show. 10. Facility RULES: -Alcoholic beverages prohibited. - NO fans are allowed behind the cattle or in the aisles unless suspended overhead. - A maximum of one fan per three head of cattle is allowed. - Dogs are not permitted in the arena at any time during this event, except for service animals. 11. DANGEROUS ANIMALS: Animals must be under control of the exhibitor at all times. For safety, the show committee will request that dangerous animals be removed. 12. Any animals that are injured during the duration of the show will be advised to trailer the animal in question to the MSU Veterinarian Clinic at the responsibility of the owner. 13. Since this show is a sanctioned Show for the MI Shows program we will be abiding by their guidelines. Prospect Steers and Market Heifers 1. SHOW TIMES AND ORDER: The Market Animal show will start at 9 AM Saturday, in the following order: AOB (Any Other Registered Breeds), Angus, Chi, Hereford, Limousine, Maine-Anjou, Maintainer, Shorthorn, Shorthorn Plus, Simmental. Then the top 5 breed animals will be chosen. Crossbred will show, with Market Heifers showing after Crossbred and competing for Top 5 Crossbred selection. The Top 5 breeding animals will be shown against the Top 5 crossbreds to determine the Top 5 Overall Market Animals 2. Prospect steers will be shown by breed and weight. Classes will be split at the discretion of the show committee. All steers entered in a specific breed must be registered solely in the name of the youth exhibitor with their respective national breed association. All steers entered in a breed will abide by the rules for registry and showing. Registration certificates or performance pedigrees must be presented at check-in time. All breed steers must be tattooed and tattoos must correspond to registration papers. Steers that are dual registered can show with only one breed

4 and must be entered as such. 3. Market heifers will be shown by weight. There will be no breed classes for market heifers as they will be shown in the Market Heifer show Breeding Heifers 1. SHOW TIMES AND ORDER: Heifers will show begin at 9am Sunday January 24 th. The show order will be: Commercial, Simmental, Shorthorn, Shorthorn Plus, Maine- Anjou, Maintainer, Limousine, Hereford, Chi, Angus, AOB (Any Other Registered Breeds), Top 5 Overall Heifers. 2. Heifers born from September 1, 2014 thru August 31, 2015 are eligible to show. Registered heifers within breed will show from youngest to oldest. Classes will be split at the discretion of the show committee. All heifers entered in a specific breed must be registered solely in the name of the youth exhibitor with their respective national breed association. Registration certificates must be presented at check-in time. All breeding heifers must be tattooed and tattoos must correspond to registration papers. Heifers that are dual registered can show with only one breed and must be entered as such. 3. Commercial and market heifers will be shown by weight and all registered heifers will be shown by date of birth. Commercial heifers will compete for Supreme Heifer, and market heifers will compete for Overall Champion Market Animal. TB Test Requirements All Michigan cattle participating in the 2016 AGR Beef Preview Show must have an RFID tag. Neither an official USDA alphanumeric metal ear tag nor an official breed registry tattoo will be accepted in place of an RFID tag. Please refer to the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development web site for the most up to date exhibition requirements. All Michigan cattle regardless of age must meet one of the following requirements with respect to TB testing: - Cattle from herds WITH a verified wildlife risk mitigation action plan NO TB testing is required, but a movement permit is required - Cattle from herds WITHOUT a verified wildlife risk mitigation action plan - A negative individual TB test within 60 days and movement permit is required. -If you are unsure about the TB test requirements for your area, please consult the MDARD website listed above or call OUT OF STATE/ COUNTRY CATTLE - Out of-state cattle must be accompanied by a certificate of veterinary inspection (health certificate) that lists the animal s official identification EXACTLY as it appears on the animal. - Official identification is either a USDA alphanumeric metal ear tag OR an official electronic identification tag (RFID tag) OR an official breed registry tattoo that is unique to that individual and corresponds exactly to the tattoo identification number on official breed registration papers. RFID tags can be purchased on site. - Fair tags, bangle tags, tattoos that do not match registration papers, and tattoos in

5 non -registered cattle are NOT official identification. -For questions regarding requirements to move cattle into Michigan call the Michigan Department of Agriculture Additional Health Requirements - All cattle must be dehorned; horn length cannot be greater than two inches. - Cattle infected with a communicable disease may not be brought to the show. To meet the health standards required to show, animals need to be free of illness including but not limited to: *Clinical signs of respiratory disease (watery eyes, nasal discharge, elevated temperature, excessive slobbering) * Active ringworm and/or warts *Identifiable external parasites *Evidence of surgical, conformation or any other unethical alterations will result in the animal and exhibitor being disqualified from competition. *Animals not meeting these standards are to be removed from the fairgrounds immediately upon notification to the exhibitor and/or parents to retain his/her ability to exhibit in future AGR shows. o Friday o Saturday o Sunday Schedule 9AM Cattle may begin to arrive 2PM- 8PM Market Animal Check In Following the Market Animal check-in there will be a fitting clinic 9 AM: Market Animal show starts in this order: AOB (Any Other Registered Breeds), Angus, Chi, Hereford, Limousine, Maine-Anjou, Maintainer, Shorthorn, Shorthorn Plus, and Simmental. Then the top 5 breed animals will be chosen. Then Crossbred will show and the top 5 crossbred will be chosen from the crossbred division. The Top 5 breeding animals will be shown against the Top 5 crossbreds to determine the Top 5 Overall Market Animals. 4PM- Showmanship (Youngest to Oldest) 6PM or at the Conclusion of Showmanship- Breeding Heifer Check In will begin. It will conclude at 8PM, or 2 hours after the start. 9 AM: Breeding Heifer show starts in this order: Commercial, Simmental, Shorthorn, Shorthorn Plus, Maine-Anjou, Maintainer, Limousine, Hereford, Chi, Angus, AOB (Any Other Registered Breeds), Top 5 Overall Heifers.
