2 1. This will be an open show meaning it is open to everyone; all animals entered in the show must meet the requirements of their breed associations to be shown. Unless the animal is a commercial heifer or steer. 2. ALL animals for exhibition shall be individually identified on a certificate of veterinary inspection written within the current calendar year. January 1 through December 31, Class Breakdowns: a. Steers will be broke into classes according to weight. Besides class placings ONLY Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Steers will be chosen and receive premiums. Further placing will only occur to reduce the number of steers in the final drive. b. The Heifer show will include individual breeds, commercial and AOB (All Other Breeds). Classes will be broken down as follows: i. After heifers have been split by breed, all Heifers within a breed will be split by age. ii. There will be a champion and reserve chosen for each breed of heifer, each breed champion will come back to compete for Grand Champion. The reserves of each breed should be on standby to compete for Reserve Grand Champion animal. 4. Eligible Breeds/Breed Classifications: To qualify for a breed show, there must be a minimum of 5 head. Less than 5 head will show in an AOB Division. a. Purebred AOB - Any animal issued a full blood or purebred registration certificate in a breed with less than 5 head will compete in a purebred AOB Division. b. Percentage AOB - Any animal issued half blood, appendix, or balancer papers, etc., or for animals issued a percentage breed registration certificate will compete in a percentage AOB Division. c. Purebred AOB and Percentage AOB may be combined if the 5 head minimum is not attained. d. Commercial Division - Commercial cattle only. Animals must not have been issued a registration paper. Will be split by weight. e. Breed Order will be in Alphabetical Order starting with Angus and ending with AOB and Commercial respectively. f. If Show Committee deems it necessary due to size of class, further splits may occur. 5. Fitting: The use of dyes or other coloring agents to camouflage the natural coloring of an animal is prohibited. Use of false tail heads or switches will be prohibited. Aerosols will be allowed but they may not be used in the make-up area or the show arena. 6. All entries must be halter broken. Any animal that the show committee considers being hazardous to exhibitors, spectators, etc. will be excused from the show and will be ineligible for class placement and premiums. 7. Exhibitors are expected to treat their animals in a manner consistent with good animal husbandry and display proper sportsmanship at all times.

There will be a rules committee at the show to enforce all rules; this committee will be made up of Eastern Kentucky University Agriculture Students, and the Eastern Kentucky University Delta Tau Alpha advisor. 9. An exhibitor violating any of the regulations may be denied the opportunity to participate in the event and/or forfeit all premiums won. Any violation of the rules shall be reported to a representative of Show and Fair Promotion who, in turn, shall inform the appropriate youth agency. Said violation of the rules may, at the discretion of the youth agency, result in a suspension from showing. 10. All exhibitors and participants are fully responsible for the safety and well being of themselves and their own cattle. 11. Due to limited stalling space, exhibitors are requested to conserve space. Exhibitors may be required to move animals, tack or blocking chutes to accommodate others. CLASS BREAKS 1. Junior heifer calf Jan. 1- March 25, Winter heifer calf Nov. 1-Dec. 31, Senior heifer calf Sept 1- Oct. 31, Late summer yearling heifer July 1-Aug. 31, Early summer yearling heifer May 1- June 30, Late junior yearling heifer March 1- April 30, Early junior yearling heifer Jan 1- Feb. 28, Senior yearling Sept 1- Dec. 31, 2016 *Committee will have the ability to split classes due to their size so that the show will move along smoothly. *Steer class breaks will be decided on by the weight of the animal. There will be a scale at the show so market animals must all be weighed in! *Number of classes and breed individualization will be determined at show.

4 GENERAL HEALTH REQUIREMENTS 1. All Kentucky origin livestock must meet the exhibition requirements in 302 KAR 20:065, as listed below. For additional or updated information, contact the Office of the State Veterinarian at (502) or visit web site at Cattle from additional states should also meet all the requirements found on this website, out of state animals will be required to have their out of state health papers. 2. Kentucky is classified as a Brucellosis and Tuberculosis Free State; therefore, no Brucellosis or Tuberculosis test is required. If your state requires either test the cattle must be tested or they will be ineligible for the show. 3. Livestock exhibiting signs of any infectious, contagious or communicable disease such as, but not limited to, warts, ringworm, pinkeye or foot rot are not eligible for exhibition. 4. DECISIONS MADE BY THE KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE ARE FINAL. All animals for exhibition shall be individually identified on a certificate of veterinary inspection written within the current calendar year. January 1 through December 31, 2018.

5 RULES FOR USE OF GROUNDS 1. NO straw will be allowed. Bedding only. 2. Butt fans will not be allowed. 3. NO more than 1 fan for every 3 head of cattle. (ex: 6 head, maximum of 2 fans) 4. Use of generators will be allowed, but they will be required to be placed outside. 5. Media release form will need to be signed and turned in with entry and entry payment for each participant. 6. The safety and well-being of all cattle and people involved will be the sole responsibility of each individual and their own cattle. All individuals are responsible for their own property.
