2 WELCOME TO THE 6TH ANNUAL R & R GENETICS BULL AND HEIFER SALE R & R Genetics welcomes you to our 6th Annual Bull and Heifer Sale. We would like to thank all past buyers for their support and for all the friendships we have made. This past year we have seen record high prices early and the bottom came out as the year went on. The market continues to rally but we doubt we will see those high price for some time. It s too bad we can t just meet in the middle and all make a dollar. Here at R & R we like to focus on balance and moderation in all things. You will find a strong set of bulls and a very useful set of replacement heifers in this years offering. Our cattle run like your cattle, no pivots or irrigated meadows with creep feeders in every pasture. The cattle travel from one spring to the next all summer long on our U.S. forest permit. The mountain culls the bad ones. Poor feet and legs, mothering ability and performance are tested each year. Everyone knows that a strong maternal base is the foundation to success in the cattle business. Your cow herd needs to stay sound and in good rig. The Angus, Simmys and SimAngus found in this sale will keep you in business for the long haul. We are going to PAP test the bulls this year for our customers to help with their genetic selections. Although we do run our cattle in the high country ( feet), we hope this will help in choosing what lots best suit your operation. The test will score the bulls from with lower numbers more acceptable for high altitude. Any bull with a PAP score less than 40 would be a candidate for high altitude. There are no guarantees on this score, just another selecting tool. As always, the bulls and heifers sell with our 100% guarantee. The cattle will be at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds Friday evening and video will be available at If you are unable to attend the sale in person, the sale will be broadcast on Live Auctions TV for internet bidding. You can also place your bids with any of our sale staff owners. The bulls and heifers were developed at the Wayment s feedlot in Warren, Utah. 4 BREEDING GUARANTEE: All sale bulls have passed a semen evaluation exam, and we will guarantee them capable of breeding cows. In the event of an injury or illness which causes a sale bull to be incapable of breeding cows for a period of 21 days or greater, R & R Genetics will make compensation equal to 50% of the value of the injured bull, minus one-half salvage value of the affected bull. Guarantee will only be valid on bulls with a purchase price of $3,000 or greater. Compensation will be in the form of a credit at a future production sale or toward greater. Compensation will be in the form of a credit at a future production sale or toward a replacement bull if one is available. All guarantees will be limited to the first breeding season only. Breeding season is defined as a 90-day period following the first turn out of the bulls. We must be notified prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage for claims to be valid.
