The last few years have been challenging in America both politically and economically, but signs of improvement are showing and things look bright for the future. Times continue to change, and we have tried our best to adapt and present you with cattle that will be profitable for all facets of the industry. This year our friends at JDJ have decided to have their own production sale in their home state of Michigan; we wish them the best with this endeavor and thank them for their time as a part of our sales. As a result of this change, we have added a couple of Kentucky s most progressive breeders as guest consignors. We think you will find that Five Springs Farm and Star C Farm have dug deep to bring you some really good cattle that fit nicely with the philosophies of the rest of the sale group. There is a lot to do in this area during this time of year, and this year Cane Ridge Cattle Company will be having a sale on Sunday after ours, offering some powerful Simmental genetics. This is a great opportunity to attend two great sales within a few miles of each other in one weekend. Last year we first suggested the option to people of scheduling a fall vacation around the sale in Kentucky, and several people took in some of the attractions and really enjoyed themselves. The addition of the Cane Ridge Sale to this weekend only makes this more attractive. We suggest that you come and spend a few days, enjoy some great Simmental cattle and take in some of the area sites and activities. So were we, so we have been selectively buying some black females that have different pedigrees, good EPDs, are polled and that fit what we want in terms of phenotype. This year we decided to give the buyers at the Belles of the Bluegrass the opportunity to purchase a flush out of a couple of the cows of our future.
