Upgrade s greatest daughter and a Knockout with real punch, HF Serena 74Y is one of the most impressive and popular young females available in the breed today. We re excited that she s on our team and we are excited to offer this first flush opportunity but the decision to sell did not come without considerable thought because we think this is one of the great genetic improvement options available this season. Serena 74Y is so powerful inside and out, and she continues to amaze us with her visible improvement since the summer. She is the most successful show heifer that we have ever campaigned and, while the experience has been truly great for the entire team, we know that her future as a breed leading donor is even more exciting. Her sire has taken the breed by storm with his dominant performance and Miss Knockout 74T is equally dominant from the female side. Serena 74Y is their greatest product and her future is all but certain. See Lola on the farm, on the tanbark, or in our Louisville stalls and visit with us about how this right to flush can benefit us both. We knew we had to offer plenty of great options in our first sale on the farm but we may never do this one again, so take advantage. Whether she wins anymore or not, we think you ll agree that Serena 74Y is truly something special! 14 Happy Thanksgiving from Trennepohl Farms! On behalf of our entire family and crew we thank you for taking the time to look through our catalog, review the cattle, and hopefully be a part of our 2012 Right By Design Sale - the very first on our family farm near Middletown, Indiana. We have spent a lifetime preparing for an event like this one. We showed our first Indiana State Fair Grand Champion Heifer in 1981 with a Chiainina, and our Simmental cattle venture started the very next year with a heifer that Jeff & Karen purchased in Mississippi for their eldest daughter, Sonya, to show. Since then, significantly more have been added and we have worked to increase our quality each year through tough selection and the use of outstanding herd sires. Along the way there has been a lot of winning for all six of the Trennepohl cousins and a lot of enjoyment for us. We realize that you have plenty of options when it comes to making your cattle seed stock purchases each year and we just want you to know that much thought, effort, and experience has gone into making our herd and this auction a reality. The success of our cattle is certainly no accident and we are making our very best options available to you in The time has come! There has surely been a lot of fun, sweat, tears, and memories on our family journey to this point, but none of this would be possible without the assistance of our parents. Tom & Judy Trennepohl have helped us in so many ways and continue to do so to this day; words cannot adequately convey our thanks and appreciation. Thanks also go out to our brothers, Tim and Chris, for their help in so many things, past and present. Our day-to-day operations are made possible by the assistance of the guy, Wes Hartzell. We are sure glad he s our guy as we could not do it without him or his family. Special thanks to them for all of their effort and sacrifice, especially during an alwaysdifficult harvest season that was made more difficult by our auction preparations. We are also excited to welcome and give a big thanks to the newest member of our team, Cole Van Horn, our show & sale cattle manager. The success of our cattle the past few years has been great, and the summer of 2012 was especially fun for all of us. Claire and Adrianne did a great job with their show heifer, Lola, and they rewarded all of us with great wins at the AJSA National Classic and the Supreme Championship of the Indiana State Fair, a long-time family goal. If you have been paying attention, we have been stacking our herd with multiple elite individuals like Lola whose first flush option sells as Lot 1 - on both the bull and female sides and the best of their products comprise this deep offering of quality. We have literally emptied our bred and open heifer inventories and likely dug way too deep into our working herd in order to make our best stock available to you. We are confident in these cattle and their abilities to make your operation better, plus we stand behind the livestock we sell because we want to be your seed stock supplier. The cattle are always available for your inspection on the farm, and we are planning a special weekend for you at sale time. Plan to be our guest and enjoy Hoosier Hospitality all day Friday and Saturday with a special Thanksgiving Mexican Fiesta in the auction barn on Friday night featuring live music by Walker County, a local group that we think you will really enjoy. We hope you can join us! Best wishes to all of you. Enjoy the season! Jeff & Karen Trennepohl Scott & Judy Trennepohl Jeff & Karen and Family Scott & Judy and Family 14
