2 Dear Friends, Welcome to our annual Performance With Class Female Sale. With great pride, we offer you a pretty outstanding group of opens, breds, embryos and steers. These 2014 heifers and steers are really good and will be super projects and great replacement females. All are halter broke. A heifer purchased in the 2012 sale was first named Champion Cow/Calf Pair at the World Beef Expo. The bred heifers are very nice and will make excellent productive cows. Many are A.I. sired and embryo transplants, bred to proven calving ease bulls. The EPDs on these females are the best, balanced numbers of any offered for sale anywhere. Take a look, genetics lead time here. A lot of cows have gone to slaughter, according to USDA, the cow herd is the smallest since 1951 and the 7th straight year of decline. Beef stocks in storage are down 20% from a year ago. This marks the 6th consecutive month that the beef stocks have been 20% or more under a year ago. It appears that short numbers of feeders, fats will be here for a long time. The shortest numbers may be ahead of us. Our sale is an Iowa Simmental sanctioned futurity sale. We congratulate the many young exhibitors of our cattle for their success and will recognize them on sale day. We are pleased to have our long time guest consignors, Dave Martinson of Big M Ranch with four open heifers and five bred heifers; and Mat Goddard, our herdman, will have a cow/calf pair and a bred heifer.
