Betty Barkley has a few Club Members already signed up, but time is getting close, so please get your enrollment for the Reproduction Seminar into Betty. We have gone to some lengths to bring Dr. Hutchinson out to speak to us, as well as opening it to other dog enthusiasts. We hope that we have a good turn out and that has to start with us. So get going and get signed up. I know you would not want to miss out on this educational presentation! 2 RCLRC Minutes February 19, 2008 Meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm In Attendance: Debbie Neal, Celeste Smith, Barb Gilchrist, Ellen Sparks, Lisa Cruanas, Joanne Huntley. January Minutes were read and approved. President s Report: None Secretary s Report: Letters from AKC approving both Specialty and Obedience events. Treasurer s Report: None Committee Reports: Sportsmen s Show: Debbie Neal reported that the booth at the Sportsmen s Show went well. The AKC provided free brochures to hand out. WC: The Waterfowl Festival will be held at the Polk County Fairgrounds near Dallas, OR on August 16 and 17, The WC held in conjunction with the Festival is at Jim May s Duck Club which is one mile from the fairgrounds. Lisa Cruanas motioned that the Club s portion of the entry fee be increased to $ Motion was seconded and approved. B-Match: Barbara Gilchrist reported that Kathy Fagundes reserved Frenchmen s Bar Park on May 10th for the B-Match. Kathy is sending out letters to the judges. Specialty: None Membership: Randy Johnson and Bob and LiLi Lobingier were voted in as new members. Proposed new member is Andrea Ridley. The entry forms will be in next month s Newsletter and we will have them available at the meetings also. ~ Words of Wisdom ~ What is the life, if full of care. We have no time to stand and stare. This should be the motto of every good breeder! Look, look and look again and the bottom should soon fall out of your kennel, leaving plenty of room at the top... I recommend breeders to look very carefully at their stock and cut out from the bottom. Because if you hack away at the bottom, your eye will get used to a higher and higher plateau and will start automatically to discard one, that you would have been proud to keep and show before. Contributions for publication and advertisements are welcome. Advertising rates are $15.00 per half page and $25.00 per whole page. All submissions for publication are to be mailed or ed to the editor by the 20th of each month. Subscription rate for non-members is $15.00 per year and does not include voting privileges. All subscription requests can be mailed to the editor along with a check made payable to RCLRC. The editor and all club members shall refrain from editorial comments pertaining to other members without prior written approval from the Board of Directors.
