All Dogs Welcome at the Bark Park There are generally NO BREED RESTRICTIONS on the use of the Bark Park, however, there may be some restrictions on how you can use the Bark Park.

4 All Dogs Welcome at the Bark Park There are generally NO BREED RESTRICTIONS on the use of the Bark Park, however, there may be some restrictions on how you can use the Bark Park. Sometimes we obviously don t get along with everyone and the same holds true among dogs. If a dog does not play well with others, you can still use the facility with the following restrictions. a. You can still benefit from having your dog use an off-leash area but other dogs will not be permitted in the off-leash area at the same time. If another dog owner shows up to use the off-leash area, just explain that your dog does not play well with others. It will be the owner s responsibility to inform other dog owners their dog does not play well with others. b. If someone else is waiting to use an off-leash area and the dogs can not play together, then please limit your time in the area to 20 minutes. c. If your dog does not play well with others, do not allow your dog to go nose to nose with other dogs on the property and when walking anywhere on the property, the dog must be on a leash. If you have particular concerns or questions call the Bark Park at or call Sue at Volunteers Needed If you have some spare time, and love dogs, and possibly no longer have a dog of your own, why not consider volunteering at the Bark Park. The best volunteer opportunity is to come and play with the dogs or take them for walks on the property. Volunteers must be at least 17 years of age or when younger than 17, must be accompanied by an adult when working with the dogs. 6 Rustic Camping Offered to Bark Park Members Bark Park members can now escape to the peaceful, serene, beautiful countryside setting of the Bark Park property on a Friday or Saturday night. Share an evening under the stars with the entire family and sleep in your tent or pop-up. Bark members are invited to do some rustic camping. The Bark Park will provide water and a port-o-john. We will have a fire ring - but not wood. The rest is up to you. The cost is $5.00 per person. Reservations are needed in advance so we can direct the campers to designated areas on the property. Campers are required to arrive before 7 pm for camping and the peaceful serene setting might disappear by 7 am when the kennel dogs generally rise and shine and some of the week-end maintenance work might begin. A no alcohol rule on the property will be enforced. Our supply of baskets can get depleted very quickly. If you have any baskets lying around taking up space, consider donating them to the Bark Park for our Basket Fund. So, if you have any baskets, simply drop them off at the Dog House. We are generally looking for medium to large baskets

7 Bark Park Memberships include: Use of the entire 65 acres to exercise your dog which includes: 2 miles of marked walking trails Human/canine ¾ mile trail with marked calisthenic stops Use of 3 off-leash fenced areas Use of the only regulation dock diving platform in northwestern Pa. and help available with dock diving if needed Free scheduled play days for dogs to socialize, weekends and evening Monthly newsletter with dog care articles Social times with other dog owners and their dogs Resource information available when needed Update on Shot Requirements It seems every time we take our pets to our veterinarian for an annual visit, there is always more to learn and decide what adjustments need to be made to protect our beloved pets. As you know, any dog on the Bark Park property or using the Dog House services must have proof of Bordetella vaccine. However, A recent update now indicates Bordetella vaccine is necessary once a year rather than every six months. A new strain of Canine influenza is now an additional concern. Several of our customers choose to vaccinate against the previous strain of canine influenza even though it is recommended but not required at our facility. With the identification of a new additional strain of canine influenza vaccine be sure to check with your veterinarian and follow their recommendation to see if your dog needs to consider one or both influenza vaccines.

Max loves playing and running and is really liking making new friends at daycare at the bark park. Max is really looking forward to this summer and all the fun events planned at the Bark Park.

8 Conneaut Lake Bark Park Pet Spotlight Max is a 10 month old Boxer owned by Tom and Robin Thurber and we all live in Conneaut Lake. Max has a 10 year old sister, Harrah; She is a pitbull, and they love being together, playing and snuggling. Max loves playing and running and is really liking making new friends at daycare at the bark park. Max is really looking forward to this summer and all the fun events planned at the Bark Park. He hopes to see a lot of you there! Max Halcyon (Hallie) is a rescued bulldog - labrador -boxer - staffordshire-beagle mix who is close to two years old. She turned out to be much younger than we initially thought, and had a lot of learning to do. Good thing she is very smart and food -driven. She is an easy-going, playful dog, and she likes attention so much that she is even excited to go to the vet! Hallie can easily jump nearly six feet straight up in the air, and loves to show off -- at training classes she's known as "Kangaroo." She travels well and has been across the country twice already. When she can't come along, she has a great time playing with other dogs at the Dog House. Halcyon (Hallie)

The membership involves the use of the outside Bark Park facility and its many offerings including walking trails, off-leash fenced areas, dock diving and so much more. Socializing with other dog owners and sharing experiences involving your dog s behavior can always be an entertaining interaction. Studies have shown that spending time with a canine companion lowers blood pressure, promotes emotional health, provides relaxation and reduces everyday stress. Quality time with a pet in the peaceful and safe environment of the Conneaut Lake Bark Park will provide a relaxing break from work and on weekends for the employees. Check with your employer and ask them to contact the Bark Park and join the companies below that have already enrolled in this program. Several local businesses have received the initial information and we are waiting for them to join this program. We look forward to adding more companies to this program and will meet with any company that is interested.
