3 Basic activity: histopathological diagnosis, histochemical and immunohistochemical exams The National Reference Centre for Veterinary and Comparative Oncology is responsible for domestic animal tumor tissue samples collection and analyses (field samples). Formalin-fixed neoplastic organs and tissues are sent by local veterinary surgeons to the Centre for histologic diagnosis. Histochemical and immunohistochemical exams are performed to confirm the diagnosis.
