11 From the mailbox Follow up from Last week. More on the Marley Girl Litter. LAST WEEK in the Mailbag segment, we covered a litter of seven dogs and five bitches, from Longwood breeder Maureen Barry, by Group 1 Vic Peters Classic winner Spring Gun, from the beautifully bred bitch, Marley Girl (December 2010 Mogambo x Girl Aloud), whose dam is by Spiral Nikita* x Crystal Entity (Just The Best x Graceful Affair). When we first put the story onto the website, there were a couple of minor errors, which were quickly corrected, so most people wouldn t have noticed. In making the corrections, I realized there was additional material I had researched, but not been able to use in the space I had allocated. I have decided to include that detail this week to go with the great photo of Marley Girl, watching over a couple of the pups, who are now just over 13 weeks old. As we told you last week, the litter s combined stake earnings exceed $150,000. Clarifying the race record of Evie s Entity, she was a finalist in the Group 1 Sapphire Classic, Group 2 Warragul Cup and Group 2 Horsham Cup. Zoenah s Entity recently became a proven brood bitch with the win of Billy s Bake at Sandown on November 24. He has now raced eight times for three wins and four placings. Roger Clark GREYHOUND OF THE WEEK THIS week we introduce a new segment, the Editor s choice of Greyhound of the Week. Our first Greyhound of the Week is: BESSY BOO The additional information I wanted include was the details of the race records of Marley Girl s litter., which are as follows: Greyhound Starts 1sts 2nds 3rds Evie s Entity F Gambo Girl F Hez Aloud M Heza Hustler M Lango F Loud One F Marley s Girl F Scooter s Girl F Zoenah s Entity F Totals BESSY BOO Black Dog March 2012 Bekim Bale x My Black Bess 152 starts 43 wins 25 seconds 28 thirds At Wentworth Park 119 starts 33 wins 19 seconds 22 thirds Prizemoney $334,399 The amazing Bessy Boo, trained at Londonderry by Christine Proctor, for Ashley Wilson, won his 33rd race at Wentworth Park last Saturday night. In case you hadn t noticed, have a look at his whelping date, March 2014, which makes him 4 years and eight months, what a great effort. Congratulations Christine on an outstanding job you have done with this grand campaigner, who obviously doesn t know how old he is, so you had better not tell him Got a nomination for Greyhound of the Week? editor@victoriangreyhoundweekly.com.au

12 Beautifully bred pups For Sale 5 dogs and 7 bitches Whelped 22nd August 2016 Breeder Maureen Barry Spring Gun (June 2009 Bombastic Shiraz x Ready For Rain) X Marley Girl (December 2010 Mogambo x Girl Aloud) Marley Girl 30 Starts ($30,155) The Meadows 535m , 30.18, Sandown Park 515m Ballarat 450m Bendigo 425m , Horsham 410m Geelong 460m The mating to Spring Gun was undertaken to inject speed and strength into these pups. Marley Girl was from a litter of nine pups who all won races, with some reaching Group 1 finals. The Litter won over 70 races and $150,000 in prize money. Marley Girl s sisters who have been bred have all thrown winners from their first litters and there is no reason to think she won t do the same. Anyone buying pups from Marley Girl can see they are buying from a line that produces 500 metre and group level performing dogs. Marley Girl s first litter of five pups, by Knocka Norris are now 11 months old, and can be inspected for type and temperament, along with this litter. Six pups from the litter are for sale, with the breeder keeping six. The pups are located at Longwood 3665, and will be available ay 16 weeks, final injections and microchipping has been done. $2,200 each - Phone Michael
