NOVICE CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. NOVICE AND OPEN CLASS DIVIDED PUGS & BOSTON TERRIERS ONLY: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of entry form. NOTE: SUBSTITUTION OF DOG IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AT THE SHOW(S): There will be an Administration Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Showmanship at each show. In addition, if the dog originally entered in Jr. Showmanship was an additional entry, and the dog being substituted is not otherwise entered in the show, the Junior Showmanship Only fee applies. Photos should be photographic quality, not printed from an inkjet or bubblejet printer. As the judge s decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed by virtue of having won the class. Stud Dog Class and Brood Bitch Class: Each entry is allowed two get unless otherwise specified. The merits of the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch are not considered in the placement of the entry. It is the quality of the get that forms the basis for the judge s decision. All get must be examined and gaited. The Stud Dog or Brood Bitch must also be examined to determine if there is a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Rules, AKC policy or the breed standard. All get must be entered in a regular class in order to be eligible to compete in the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch Class. Handlers of the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch, and all get being exhibited, must wear armbands. Ch. 11, Sec. 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. Brace Class: Two Dogs, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in the brace class must have at least one common owner. Dogs do not need to be entered in any other class. Dogs comprising a Brace Class must be named at the time of entry, and full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If a dog which is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Brace Class only. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Brace must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes as Brace Class. Team Class: Four Dogs, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of four handlers. All dogs competing in the team class must have at least one common owner. Dogs do not need to be entered in any other class. Dogs comprising a Team Class must be named at the time of entry, and full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If a dog which is to be part of a Team is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Team Class only. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Team must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes as Team Class.

5 INFORMATION FOR ALL EVENTS, AUGUST 16-17, 2018 COMBINED OBEDIENCE TRIAL & RALLY TRIAL DESIGNATED SHOWS ONLY REFER TO EACH SPECIALTY SHOW PAPILLONS & PUGS ONLY All Obedience & Rally Classes Will Be Held Indoors With the approval of the American Kennel Club, Obedience and Rally Trial classes at the OKC cluster will be consolidated to provide maximum efficiency in scheduling and judging. The Judging Program will include a complete list of breeds to be judged, and the order in which they will be judged. All Specialties that are offering Combined Obedience Classes will be judged together. Each dog will be judged and individual scores recorded in the respective breed s judge s book. For the group exercises in Obedience, all breeds will be judged in one group. If there are more dogs competing than can be spaced four (4) feet per dog on one side of a ring, some must be judged in another group. The judge will divide the class into equal sections and the group exercise will be judged after each section. Following completion of group exercises, the judge will complete the judge s books for all dogs entered in each Obedience class in the respective breed s judge s book. Ribbons and awards will then be awarded by breed. Qualifying points in Obedience are based on the number of dogs in each breed only. All Specialties that are offering Combined Rally Classes will be judged together. Each dog will be judged and individual scores recorded in the respective breed s judge s book. The judge will complete the judge s books for all dogs entered in each Rally class in the respective breed s judge s book. Ribbons and awards will then be awarded by breed. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian s protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants or household members of a professional handler. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Competition. 7 INFORMATION FOR ALL EVENTS, AUGUST 16-17, 2018 AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES HAVANESE & PAPILLONS ONLY The purpose of the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS) is to recognize and showcase the quality dogs being exhibited by owner/handlers and to provide a venue for the owner/handlers to compete against their peers. The determination of the awards in the AKC National Owner-Handled Series is based solely on the quality of the entry. The owner/handler s handling ability is not of consideration. Dog must be marked as eligible to compete in the AKC NOHS prior to the closing of entries. There is no additional fee to enter this competition. Dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for the AKC NOHS throughout the breed level (all classes, Winners, and Best of Breed) competition. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for all AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog AKC National Owner-Handled Series eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. The handler must be an owner of record according to the AKC s records as of the date of the show. Dogs declared eligible will be identified by an asterisk or other representative mark in the judge s book, steward s book, and the show catalog. *Professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may not exhibit. The Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible dogs that competed in the Best of Breed/Variety competition. This includes Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, and the undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners competition. *Professional handler is defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Eligibility restrictions apply to all members of the same household. Household members and current assistants to professional handlers in conformation are not eligible to exhibit in this competition. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. ATTENTION EXHIBITORS The Show Site will be available to exhibitors at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 15, Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following Best in Show judging on Sunday, August 19, LOADING & UNLOADING - Reserved Grooming will be in the Livestock Building located at the northeast corner of the grounds. Access to the Livestock Building will be off 284th Ave SE - follow signs. POWER OUTLETS - Use of ALL power outlets is at user s own risk. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. No dogs to be left overnight in Reserved or Non-Reserved grooming buildings. Free Day Grooming is available on a first come, first served basis & is located in the Horse Barn. All equipment must be removed at the end of each day. Each exhibitor is responsible for cleaning up after his own dog(s). Pooper-scoopers will be placed around the show grounds for your convenience. If your dog soils in the show ring, the ring steward will hold your dog while YOU do the clean up. A pooper-scooper will be placed outside each ring. Responsible dog owners will clean up after their dog(s). PARENTS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES! NO SKATEBOARDS, ROLLERBLADES, SCOOTERS OR BIKES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE SHOW GROUNDS DURING SHOW HOURS. NO UNAUTHORIZED USE OF MOTORIZED VEHICLES ON SHOW GROUNDS DURING SHOW HOURS. Grooming and exercise pens in DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. Crates may be brought to ringside during breed judging and must be removed immediately when judging for that breed is over. NO GROOMING OR SMOKING UNDER SHADE TENTS IN AISLES. ALL CRATES MUST BE REMOVED FROM RINGSIDE AND FROM UNDER SHADE TENTS 15 MINUTES AFTER SHOWING. 8 PARKING INFORMATION 8 OKC SPECIALTIES 2018 INFORMATION FOR ALL EVENTS, AUGUST 16-17, 2018 PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW THE PARKING INFORMATION BELOW. GENERAL INFORMATION All parking is a privilege extended by Olympic Kennel Club and the Enumclaw Expo Center. Any arguing, abusive language or failure to follow the rules, regulations or instructions of the club or parking personnel will cause you to be escorted from the show site, forfeit all parking privileges without refund of fees and possible discipline by the Event Committee. All parking is at user s own risk. Olympic Kennel Club and Enumclaw Expo Center assume no responsibility or liability for damages or loss to any vehicle or its cargo. Everyone using this facility is expected to keep and leave the area clean. Limited handicap parking (with a valid permit) is available in the general parking areas. These spaces will have easy access but may be some distance from the show rings. All vehicles must vacate the premises no later than one hour following Best In Show Sunday, August 19, No vending in parking areas without a permit. All parking fees must be paid in U.S. funds. FIRE LANES MUST BE KEPT CLEAR AT ALL TIMES. Vehicles subject to towing at owner s expense with no prior notification. LOADING & UNLOADING Reserved grooming is in the Livestock Building located at the northeast corner of the grounds. Free day grooming is in the Horse Barn located southeast of the Livestock Building. Vehicle access to both buildings will be off 284th Avenue SE follow signs. Unloading will begin at 2:00pm Wednesday, August 15, All loading and unloading will be supervised and a time limit per vehicle will be observed to give as many exhibitors as possible access to the grooming buildings. USE OF ALL POWER OUTLETS IS AT USER S OWN RISK. ELECTRICITY IS LIMITED AND NOT GUARANTEED NO DOGS MAY BE LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE GROOMING BUILDING. GENERAL PARKING General parking is available daily in the north and south parking lots beginning at 6:00am. The parking fee is $5.00 per day. Pay at Gate. No exercise pens, set-ups or overnight parking in general parking areas. Vehicles illegally parked may be towed at owner s expense with no prior notification. OVERNIGHT RESERVED PARKING Reservations must be postmarked on or before Wednesday, August 1, There will be an additional $10.00 charge at the gate for those without a reservation CASH ONLY. All reserved parking must check in at the SOUTH parking lot. Reserved parking will be available 2:00pm Wednesday, August 15, MAIN GATES WILL CLOSE NIGHTLY AT 11:00 pm. ALL OTHER GATES WILL CLOSE AT 8:00 pm. Assignment of spaces will be made according to size and dimension of vehicle for best use of the parking space available. Misstated vehicle size may result in reassignment of space. All vehicles must park as directed by the parking personnel. If you wish to park near someone, reservations must be mailed in the same envelope. All overnight parking units must be self-contained. No dumping of gray water or sewage. All overnight parking units must have a working fire extinguisher and generator exhaust piping. Only ONE vehicle PER space unless extra parking is purchased. One combined class will be offered for breeds and varieties of dogs that are (4) four months & under (6) six months. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian s protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants or household members of a professional handler. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. The Boston Terrier Club of Western Washington will present each rescued Boston Terrier in this Parade with a rosette inscribed with the dog s name. MEMORIAL TROPHY, BOTH SHOWS Best of Breed: The BTCWW offers the Charles F. Stevenson Memorial Trophy, a Bronzed Hat on a Wooden Base. This trophy is to honor Charles Stevenson and will be a reminder of his contributions and dedication to the Boston Terrier Club of Western Washington and to the Boston Terrier breed. The trophy is to be displayed at all Boston Terrier Club of Western Washington Specialty Shows. The Best of Breed winner will have his/her name and year won engraved on the trophy as a permanent record. The Best of Breed winner will receive a Bronze/Wooden Plaque to commemorate the win. The trophy will remain in the possession of the Club.
