BEST OF BREED COMPETITION: The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs that according to their owner s records have completed the requirements for a Championship but whose Championships are unconfirmed. The showing of dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a Championship according to the owner s records. BEST PUPPY FROM THE REGULAR PUPPY CLASSES BEST FROM THE BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASSES BEST FROM THE VETERAN CLASSES NON-REGULAR CLASSES (INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES) Note: Non-regular classes involving multiple entries may be judged before or after Best of Breed. As the judge s decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed by virtue of having won the class. Stud Dog Class and Brood Bitch Class: Each entry is allowed two get. The merits of the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch are not considered in the placement of the entry. It is the quality of the get that forms the basis for the judge s decision. All get must be examined and gaited. The Stud Dog or Brood Bitch must also be examined to determine if there is a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Rules, AKC policy or the breed standard. All get must be entered in a regular class in order to be eligible to compete in the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch Class. Handlers of the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch, and all get being exhibited, must wear armbands. Ch. LCSHC ENTRIES CLOSE JUNE 6,

4 11, Sec. 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. Brace Class: Two Dogs, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in the brace class must have at least one common owner. Dogs do not need to be entered in any other class. Dogs comprising a Brace Class must be named at the time of entry, and full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If a dog which is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Brace Class only. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Brace must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes as Brace Class. Team Class: Four Dogs, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of four handlers. All dogs competing in the team class must have at least one common owner. Dogs do not need to be entered in any other class. Dogs comprising a Team Class must be named at the time of entry, and full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If a dog which is to be part of a Team is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Team Class only. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Team must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes as Team Class. AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES The purpose of the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS) is to recognize and showcase the quality dogs being exhibited by owner/handlers and to provide a venue for the owner/handlers to compete against their peers. The determination of the awards in the AKC National Owner-Handled Series is based solely on the quality of the entry. The owner/handler s handling ability is not of consideration. Dog must be marked as eligible to compete in the AKC NOHS prior to the closing of entries. There is no additional fee to enter this competition. Dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for the AKC NOHS throughout the breed level (all classes, Winners, and Best of Breed) competition. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for all AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog AKC National Owner-Handled Series eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. The handler must be an owner of record according to the AKC s records as of the date of the show. Dogs declared eligible will be identified by an asterisk or other representative mark in the judge s book, steward s book, and the show catalog. *Professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may not exhibit. The Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible dogs that competed in the Best of Breed/Variety competition. This includes Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, and the undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners competition. *Professional handler is defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Eligibility restrictions apply to all members of the same household. Household members and current assistants to professional handlers in conformation are not eligible to exhibit in this competition. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. 5 PARADE OF TITLEHOLDERS FRIDAY ONLY For Dogs that are American Champions, and/or AKC Obedience Title Holders. Dogs entered in this non-competitive event may or may not be entered in a Regular Class at this show. Parade MUST be indicated on the entry form. Please include information about your titleholder when submitting the entry form. Information should be limited to 30 words. All entrants receive a Dark Green Rosette with dog s name imprinted offered by the Lower Columbia Siberian Husky Club. AKC SANCTIONED 4-6 MONTHS PUPPY FRIDAY ONLY ENTRIES WILL CLOSE WEDNESDAY NOON, JUNE 6, 2018 AT SUPERINTENDENT S OFFICE. One combined class will be offered for Siberian Husky puppies that are (4) four months & under (6) six months. There will be a selection of 4-6 Month Puppy Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian s protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants or household members of a professional handler. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Competition. 6 SWEEPSTAKES & VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES FRIDAY ONLY SWEEPSTAKES REQUIREMENTS & CLASSIFICATION Sweepstakes is open to all Siberian Huskies that are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. All owners, breeders and professional handlers can exhibit in the sweepstakes classes. Dogs shown in Sweepstakes must also be entered in one of the regular classes at the regular entry fee and on the regular entry form. Indicate your Sweepstakes Class with the age division in the space provided for Additional Class. Sweepstakes will be judged after the Regular Classes. NO Champions of Record may compete in Sweepstakes. SWEEPSTAKES CLASSIFICATION The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches in sweepstakes. Puppy, 6 Mos & Under 9 Mos Puppy, 9 Mos & Under 12 Mos Junior, 12 Mos & Under 15 Mos Junior, 15 Mos & Under 18 Mos VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES REQUIREMENTS & CLASSIFICATION Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all Siberian Huskies that are at least 8 years old and older on the day of the Specialty Show. Veteran Sweepstakes will be judged after the Regular Classes. AKC Champions of Record MAY compete in the Veteran Sweepstakes Classes. VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES CLASSIFICATION The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches: Veteran, 8 Yrs & Under 11 Yrs Veteran, 11 Yrs & Older DIVISION OF ENTRY MONEY AS PRIZES EACH SWEEPSTAKES IS FIGURED SEPARATELY, BASED ON ENTRY 35% of Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes entry fees shall be retained by the club to defray expenses. All crates MUST BE REMOVED upon completion of breed judging. Be sure to keep aisle ways clear. A designated grooming area will be provided. The grooming area is indoors. All fire lanes must be kept clear. NO DOGS MAY BE LEFT IN THE GROOMING AREA OVERNIGHT. Cars may drive to the grooming area to unload (10 minute maximum). Pink & Green Rosette Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes...Lavender Rosette JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION NOVICE CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of entry form. NOTE: SUBSTITUTION OF DOG IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AT THE SHOW(S): There will be an Administration Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Showmanship at each show. In addition, if the dog originally entered in Jr. Showmanship was an additional entry, and the dog being substituted is not otherwise entered in the show, the Junior Showmanship Only fee applies. These Awards are reserved for those quality animals the judge feels are worthy of final consideration for Best of Breed. Each Award of Merit recipient will receive a Green Rosette offered by the Lower Columbia Siberian Husky Club. THURSDAY & FRIDAY JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION PRIZES The Lower Columbia Siberian Husky Club offers a rosette and $20 Gift Certificate to Savvy Dog for Best Junior Handler. FRIDAY AFTER SHOW BBQ Please join LCSHC for an old fashion barbecue after Best of Breed on Friday. LCSHC will provide the hamburgers. hot dogs, buns, plates, utensils and soda. The barbecue will be held in the Siberian RV parking under the grove of tall pine trees where you can keep your dogs cool should you need to. We would like to ask everyone to bring a side dish or dessert. Please contact Shawna Garrettson who is coordinating side dishes so we don t end up with 8 potato salad dishes and nothing else. The barbecue will be available on a pre-ordered basis. Dinner will cost $8.00 per person. 9 PARKING INFORMATION Overnight and day parking is a privilege extended by the Clackamas Kennel Club (CKC), the Parking supervisor, and the Clackamas County Fair. They reserve the right to withdraw this privilege from any person(s) who feel they cannot abide by the rules or resort to abusive language and/or other tactics. Any vehicle whose driver or occupant uses abusive language, argues with parking personnel or attempts to circumvent the rules and regulations will be asked to leave and will forfeit privilege without a refund. All parking is at your own risk. If you park in a no parking area you will be towed at the owner s expense. The CKC, the Clackamas County Fairgrounds, and the Parking Supervisor assume no responsibility or liability. 1. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE SELF-CONTAINED. NO DISCHARGE OF WASTE WATER ON GROUNDS. 2. Limited handicap day and overnight parking available will be assigned. Anyone requesting handicap parking MUST have a valid Handicap Parking permit or plate. HANDICAP PARKING DOES NOT MEAN NEAR THE RINGS. It only indicates readily accessible surface. Handicap reservations must be postmarked no later than June 6, Only those with paid overnight reserved parking permits will be allowed in the reserved parking area. All others will be asked to leave. 4. Exhibitors are responsible for damages and clean-up of their parking space. 5. Person s providing incorrect vehicle length will be moved to overflow parking. 6. Returned checks will be assessed a $25.00 fee. 7. Generators are allowed between the hours of 6:00 am & 10:00 pm ONLY. Please be aware that carbon monoxide is dangerous and can be harmful to you, your dogs or other guests. Generator exhaust MUST be expelled safely into roadways or high into the air and not into adjacent RV campsites. CKC suggests if you need to run your generator you should have an exhuast flow pipe attached to their generator exhaust to vent the fumes upward and away from other campers in order to lessen the dangers of carbon monoxide. Follow signs to 99E, which goes through Oregon City to Canby (it s about 8 miles from Oregon City to Canby). You can see the Event Center to the right as you approach Canby. Look for Event Center road signs. OR Continue southbound on I-5 through the Portland metropolitan area and take exit #282A, Canby- Hubbard. Turn slight right onto Hubbard Cutoff Road NE/Wilsonville Hubbard Hwy. Turn Left onto Amdt Road NE. Stay straight to go onto South Knights Bridge Road. Turn Right onto North Grant Street. 11 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS ALL EVENTS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. The American Kennel Club will collect: a $3.00 Event Service Fee and $.50 Recording Fee where applicable for the first entry of a dog, plus a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single-entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. At every licensed or member club rally trial, a recording fee of $3.50 is required for the first entry of each dog and a recording fee of $3.00 is required for each additional entry of the same dog. The event-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Event Service Fees for The American Kennel Club. These event service and recording fees shall be forwarded to The American Kennel Club along with all other required event results within seven (7) days of the close of the event. No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or Baray Events assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMPLETENESS OF ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH ENTRANT. RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. BaRay Events will add a $30.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. We will not re-process checks. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Females in season are not permitted to compete in Obedience or Rally Trials. If a female is withdrawn from competition because it came into season and the Superintendent is notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class in the trial, the club is required to refund the entry fee. The club may retain a processing fee and must publish this information in the premium. Clubs may determine the documentation, if any that is required to confirm the female is in season. This shall be stated in the premium. Note: No fee is paid to the AKC for females in season who are withdrawn. FAX ENTRIES Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent/Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent.
