A recording fee of 50 cents and a service fee of $3.00 is required for each dog at a Licensed / member club show. The fee are collected by the club and paid to the AKC. A dog entered in more than one class pays the fees only once. AKC entry fee includes all fees. Rule. Ch. 11 Sec. 1. All dogs entered in the Bred-By Exhibitor Class must be Individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record. Page 3

Dogs shown in Sweepstakes must be entered in one of the regular classes. Indicate your Sweepstakes Class with the age division in the space provided for Additional Class. Champions of Record are not eligible. The following will be provided for both dogs and bitches: Puppy, 6 Months & under 9 Months Puppy, 9 Months & under 12 Months Junior, 12 Months & under 18 Months Winners will compete for Best in Sweepstakes DIVISION OF ENTRY MONEY AS PRIZES 35% of total entry fees will be retained by the Club for expenses. 6 HOTELS & MOTELS THAT WILL ACCEPT DOGS The following establishments have graciously agreed to accept guests with well-mannered dogs. Owners must assume full responsibility. In April, 2006, this listing was 9 hotels and motels. Please be a good guest so that we will not lose any more privileges. There are many hotels in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. Exhibitors can call them to see if they are now accepting dogs. RV Parking is available at the show site for $10.00 per night. There are no hookups. RAFFLE We will have a raffle of doggy and non-doggy items donated by club members and others. This will be conducted like a Silent Auction with tickets being sold on Saturday and Sunday. The drawing will take place on Sunday at 12:00 NOON. All raffle items must be claimed on Sunday afternoon. 7 Directions to the Show Site FROM THE EAST, take I-20 to I-220 then take Harrah s La Downs Racetrack Exit to Hwy 80. Turn left onto Hwy 80 and go east for approximately 1 mile to the second light. A McDonald s is on your left on the corner and the Sonic is across the street from McDonald s, also on the left with Bellevue Road in between. Turn left onto Bellevue Rd and drive for approximately 3 miles. The Oak Grove sign is on the left at Bellevue Farms Rd. Turn left at the sign and take the first street to the right and you will see Oak Grove Training Center. 9 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The Show Site will be available to exhibitors at 12:00 NOON, Friday, February 22, 2008, for moving in equipment (i.e. crates, grooming tables, boxes, etc.) or when the grounds committee declares the crating area is ready, whichever comes first. Exercise Pens are not allowed in the building. Please pick up after your dogs. Crating of Dogs will be allowed in the building overnight. The building will be locked at 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday night and re-open at 6:00 AM in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. All dogs and equipment must be removed from the building at the end of the show on Sunday no later than 6:00 PM. General Dogs must not be tied to bushes, shrubs, trees or other permanent fixtures. Show Site damage reported to the Show Committee, when substantiated, will be dealt with by the Bench Show Committee. PLEASE NOTE: All catalogs will be sold. None will be given away. Neither the Northwest Louisiana Shetland Sheepdog Club, Inc. nor the Show Secretary nor Oak Grove Training Center will be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, or for the possession of any exhibitor, whether the result of an accident or any other cause. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care & custody of its owner or handler during the entire time the dog is in the show building or grounds. The welfare of an exhibitor's child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that exhibitors will exercise control & restraint over their children on the day of the show. Grooming and Crating The Show Committee reserves the right to allocate crating & grooming space & restrict the number of grooming tables & request stacking of crates where appropriate. ALL CRATES MUST BE STACKED. Crating space is available on a first come, first served basis. No additional crating space inside the building may be saved by roping off, using empty crates, chairs or other equipment to hold space. Only crates with dogs will be allowed in the grooming area. There will be no exercise pens allowed in the building. Exhibitors and Handlers will be responsible for clean conditions in and around their crates. There will be no space for un-entered dogs at this show. Mail all entries with fees payable to NWLSSC to: Eloise Allemand, Show Secretary, 630 Lawrence Cl., Haughton, LA ALL ENTRIES with fees must be in the office of the Show Secretary not later than 5:00 PM, Saturday, February 9, 2008 after which time no entries may be accepted, canceled, changed, substituted, corrected, or signed and no entry fees refunded. All changes must be received in writing prior to closing, except as provided in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the American Kennel Club Rules Applying to Dog Shows. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees or signatures. Entry fees will be accepted by Personal Check, Money Order, or Cashiers Check only. Canadian exhibitors must submit their entries with checks drawn on US accounts or international money orders in US funds. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Bench Show Committee because dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made. There is no refund of entry fee for duplicate entry. There will be a $2.00 fee charged for cancellation of entry prior to closing. A Recording fee of 50 cents and $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. These Fees are to be collected by the show giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Fees are to be collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2.) Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show - none will be mailed. Page 9
