3 Non-Regular Classes (Involving multiple dog entries) GENERAL RULES NOTICES FOR ALL EXHIBITORS FOR CLUB-SPECIFIC CONDITIONS & FEES, REFER TO YOUR BREED S SECTION STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud Dogs and their get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Stud Dog need not be entered in another class. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed, or some other non-regular class. BROOD BITCH CLASS: For Brood Bitches and their produce. Brood Bitches must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and must be shown in the ring with their Produce. Owner of the Brood Bitch need not necessarily be owner of the Produce. While the merits of the Brood Bitch are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Brood Bitch must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Brood Bitch need not be entered in another class. Produce must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed, or some other non-regular class. BRACE CLASS: Two dogs that are similar in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in brace competition must have at least one common owner. The dogs comprising a Brace MUST be named at the time of entry. If a dog, which is to be part of a Brace, is not entered in any of the Regular Classes or for Best of Breed Competition, it must be entered for Brace Class Only. An entry form for a dog entered in a Regular Class or for Best of Breed Competition and entered as part of a Brace MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes. Brace Class. If more than one Brace is entered by same owner, dogs comprising EACH BRACE must be so designated Brace No. 1, Brace No. 2, etc. NOTE: As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch or Brace Classes is based on the merits of more than one dog/bitch, no one of the dogs/bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. Anyone parking in the show site parking areas must accept full responsibility for damages should this occur. GROUNDS RULES Each exhibitor is responsible for cleaning up after his own dog(s). Pooper-scoopers will be placed around the show grounds for your convenience. If your dog soils in the show ring, the ring steward will hold your dog while YOU do the clean-up. A pooper-scooper will be placed outside each ring. Responsible dog owners will clean up after their dog(s). PARENTS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES! NO SKATEBOARDS, ROLLERBLADES, SCOOTERS OR BIKES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE SHOW GROUNDS. Grooming and exercise pens in DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. Crates may be brought to ringside during breed judging and must be removed immediatley when judging for that breed is over. A complete list of donors will appear in the catalog. Best of Breed Challenge Trophy: The Papillon Association of Puget Sound offers for competition at its Specialty Show, the Bronze Papillon Statue created by Maxine Keith. For permanent possession, it must be won three time by the same owner(s), not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive shows. This trophy will remain in the possession of the Papillon Association of Puget Sound until retired. A $250 Scholarship Certificate will be offered by the Papillon Association of Puget Sound, Inc. [P.A.P.S.] to the Best Junior Handler. The Certificate may be redeemed to attend any licensed approved postsecondary educational institution. Upon appropriate notification, P.A.P.S. will disperse the scholarship money directly to the recipient s institution of choice OR with appropriate receipts $250 for books, academic supplies and materials. The recipient must redeem the Scholarship Certificate by age 25 or the monies will be forfeited and placed back into the Scholarship Fund. PAPILLON RESERVED GROOMING AREA There will be a PAPS reserved grooming area for the weekend at the south end of the Toy Building. There will be overnight space for PAPILLON EXHIBITORS ONLY. It will be marked off in 10x10 spaces that are first come, first served. Only one space per person/family allowed. There will be a club sign at the space. 9 NOTICE TO ALL EXHIBITORS NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS REGARDING CORRECTIONS OR CHANGES TO ENTRIES: Corrections other than the specific changes listed in Ch. 11, Sec. 6 (i.e. sex of a dog, transfers between age specific classes, and move-up s to BOB or BOV) are the only changes to the entries superintendents or secretaries are authorized to make after closing of entries. Owners are responsible for errors in the entry forms, regardless of who may make such errors. THIS RULE IS BEING STRICTLY ENFORCED BY THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ENTRIES CAREFULLY. Corrections to entries may be made by the Superintendent prior to the closing of entries if such correction is submitted in writing. Exhibitors are required to report any changes/corrections after closing directly to the American Kennel Club. ENTRIES, CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES, TRANSFERS FAX ENTRIES: Fax number: $4.00 per dog per event added for FAX-Credit Card entries. Both sides of entry form must be transmitted. Entries must be accompanied by a cover sheet stating the number of pages, what shows and how many dogs per show. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted for Fax entries. Credit card information (Credit Card number, expiration date, and cardholder name) must be on cover sheet. Note: Visa and MasterCard users You must include the 3-digit security code that appears above your signature on the back of the card. Proof of fax transmission is not proof of receipt of a legible or complete transmission (under AKC Rule Ch. 11, Sec. 4). General Information All parking is a privilege extended by Olympic Kennel Club and the Enumclaw Expo Center. Any arguing, abusive language or failure to follow the rules, regulations or instructions of the club or parking personnel will cause you to be escorted from the show site, forfeit all parking privileges without refund of fees and possible discipline by the Event Committee. All parking is at user s own risk. Olympic Kennel Club, Enumclaw Expo Center and J.I.F.Y.S. assume no responsibility or liability for damages or loss to any vehicle or its cargo. Everyone using this facility is expected to keep and leave the area clean. Limited handicap parking (with a valid permit) is available in the general parking areas. These spaces will have easy access but may be some distance from the show rings. All vehicles must vacate the premises no later than one hour following Best In Show Sunday, August 19, No vending in parking areas without a permit. All parking fees must be paid in U.S. funds. FIRE LANES MUST BE KEPT CLEAR AT ALL TIMES. Vehicles subject to towing at owner s expense with no prior notification. Loading & Unloading Grooming will be in the Livestock Building located at the northeast corner of the grounds. Access to the Livestock Building will be off 284 th Avenue SE follow signs. Unloading will begin at 2:00pm Thursday, August 16, All loading and unloading will be supervised and a time limit per vehicle will be observed to give as many exhibitors as possible access to the grooming building. General Parking General parking is available daily in the north and south parking lots beginning at 6:00am. The parking fee is $5.00 per day. No exercise pens, set-ups or overnight parking in general parking areas. Vehicles illegally parked may be towed at owner s expense with no prior notification. Overnight Reserved Parking Reservations must be post marked on or before Wednesday, August 1, There will be an additional $10.00 charge at the gate for those without a reservation CASH ONLY. 16 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. The AKC will collect a $1.50 AKC Event Service Fee and 50 cent Recording Fee for the first entry of a dog in all AKC licensed and member dog shows, obedience trials, and tracking tests. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Event/Recording Fees to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rule. Ch.11, Sec. 2). In accordance with AKC Rally regulations, the AKC will collect a $3.00 per entry of dog Rally Event Service Fee. A show-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Recording Fees and Event Service Fees for AKC. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNA- TIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or its Superintendent assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COMPLETENESS OF ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH THE ENTRANT. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for bitches in season. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. The Superintendent will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. The Superintendent will add a $20.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor or agent may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent.
