The Board Meeting will begin at 10:00 AM. The General Meeting will begin at 11:00 AM. Directions: From Hiway 29 North to Napa take the Downtown Napa/Lake Berryessa exit. In Napa take the Silverado Trail/CA-121 exit. Turn left when the road ends at the stop sign. Turn right onto Silverado Trail (next light). 3 (from the 10/11/14 meeting) BRAGS Donna bragged that: Stephen (Karnovanda's Stephen Coldbear) won his second major going WD and BOW at the Kenosha KC, 09/06/2014, under Judge Bob VanDiver. Stephen (Karnovanda's Stephen Coldbear) won his third major on 09/14/2014, at the Rockford-Freeport KC, under JR White, where he went WD, BOW, and BOB (over specials). He then went on to a Group 4 under Charlie Olvis. Randee bragged that: Mimi finished her championship at the Bonanza KC with back to back majors. Britestars Mimosa Sunday M Rusher, L House My First Siberian by Randee McQueen My first husky I thought was a Siberian/GSD mix but when I got my first Siberian and met many that knew the different breeds Jackpot was an Alaskan Malamute/GSD cross. I had rescued his mom and she was a purebred Alaskan Malamute by the pictures. The night Jackpot died, at 15 years (1990), I started looking for another dog. I wanted another like him and since I thought he was half Siberian I looked for Siberian Breeders. I was lucky that I now know I talked with two breeders that were really puppy mills but bought one from a reputable breeder, Kaila Kennels. I went to pick out one of two puppies that she had. Both were males, one was black/white and the other a red/white. I decided on the red/white as Jackpot was black and white and perfect at 15 and I didn t want everyone to expect the same of my new puppy so I bought the Red and White puppy. He was named Maxx, after the sheepdog in Little Mermaid. My niece and nephew named him and I wondered where it came from, and then saw it while the kids were watching the movie. Kaila s Maxx of Umunhum was a great dog, loved sledding and was a therapy dog for most of his life. He helped me with many of the foster dogs who have gone through my home. His picture appears in Michael Jennings book Siberian Husky, Able Athlete, able friend and was on the cover of 2 Just Huskies calendars (2000, 2001). 6 Siberians in San Diego The Siberian Husky Club of America held its National Specialty in San Diego last month. Many members of the Northern California Siberian Husky Club attended and for a small club did VERY well. Ours wins included WD/BOW (congrats Donna!), 2 Awards of Merit, Best Veteran, many 1st place wins and many class placements. Following are some ring candids courtesy of member Kathy Henderson.
