Our Specialty in August, and Lure coursing in August, September, and October. Hope to see you all there, and if you have not volunteered to help at the Specialty or any of the Lure Coursing Events, we can always use another helping hand!! 2 The Awards Banquet: We had a successful Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 27th, It was held at Rockwoods Grill near Elk River with a General Membership meeting after the lunch and the Awards Ceremony.We recognized our members efforts and hard work by handing out medallions to anyone who has earned a new title with their dog in the years 2011 or Everyone had fun and agreed we should continue this tradition! 4 2013 SPECIALTY: Our specialty show is Friday, August 23, 2013 and will be held at the Washington County Fairground by Lake Elmo, Minnesota in conjunction with the St. Croix Valley Kennel Club all breed dog shows. Susan Weatherhead is the show chairperson. Our judge is Russell McFadden for regular classes, intersex, and junior showmanship. Leslie Stoffels is our sweepstakes judge. Theme: Afghans the Fabric of Our Lives Show Chairwoman: Susan Weatherhead Hospitality Chairwoman: Anna Tyler Trophy Chairwoman: Sue Medure Show Superintendent: Onofrio Dog Shows Everything is just about completed. We can always use more help with set up, food donations, clean up, etc. Please contact the committee heads to offer your services. A specialty lure coursing trial will be held on August 24, 2013 at Nate s with a dinner to follow of Filet & Lobster - compliments of the GTCAHC. GTCAHC Newsletter Page 4 of 7

6 PERFORMANCE EVENTS: Lure Coursing & CAT: We have the dates set for 2013 for our lure coursing trials and coursing ability tests. All events are subject to AKC approval. The next events are; Saturday, August 24, Afghans Only Lure Coursing Trial and Tests Location: Kings Ranch, Ramsey, MN Judge: Vicki Fagre-Stroetz September: September 21 & 22 - All Breed Lure coursing AM, CAT in PM both days - 4 events Judges Dr Dan O Neill & Velma O Neill [Pending AKC Kings Ranch/Nates October: October 19 - All Breed Lure Coursing October 20 - CAT Judge is Bob Kings Ranch / Nates The club has purchased a trailer: We have purchased a (6x12) trailer for the purpose of storing and transporting GTCAHC property and equipment to our events. It will be stored at Al & Rich s home and will be used for our events. Nate has completed some customizing for us by adding a platform on the top for use by the Lure Coursing Operator.
