AWARD OF MERIT rosettes (1 for every 10 entries in Best of Breed competition) will be awarded at the judge s discretion. JUVENILE & VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES Sunday, August 6, 2017 Each breed will be judged separately (each class divided by sex). The Alberta Shetland Sheepdog & Collie Association will retain 20% of each entry fee for expenses. The remaining 80% shall be awarded as follows: First in each class Second in each class Third in each class Fourth in each class 25% of entry fee & rosette 20% of entry fee & rosette 15% of entry fee & rosette 10% of entry fee & rosette Best in Sweepstakes will receive 10% of total entry fee & rosette. Runner-up to Best in Sweepstakes will receive a rosette.

5 All N.S.F. cheques or declined credit card transactions will be assessed a $35.00 service charge. ATTENTION U.S. EXHIBITORS: Current exchange rates favour the American dollar. To take advantage of this please use VISA, MasterCard, American Express or purchase bank drafts or money orders in Canadian dollars. Personal cheques will be accepted - however, they must be payable for the FULL AMOUNT OF THE ENTRY, payable in U.S. funds. Discounted cheques will not be honoured. Do not mark personal cheques payable in Canadian funds or "at par". NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT PAYMENT IN FULL. Tendering of an NSF cheque in payment of entry fees will be considered non-payment of entry fees and is an offence punishable by CKC disciplinary action and cancellation of awards. The owner of a dog entered in this show is entirely responsible for any error in the entering of his dog, regardless of how, or by whom the entry was made. There will be no refunds on overpayments or duplicate entries CLASSIFICATIONS The following CKC classes (divided by sex) will be provided: Junior Puppy... for dogs 6 months of age but under 9 months of age Senior Puppy... for dogs 9 months of age but under 12 months of age Months... for dogs 12 months of age but under 18 months of age Canadian Bred... for dogs born in Canada; champions in any country excluded Bred By Exhibitor... for dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder Open Sable... for all sable dogs Open AOC... for all dogs of any other allowed colour. Veteran (7-10 years)... for any dog, 7 years of age but less than 10 years of age on the day of the show. These dogs do not compete for Winners, but the winner of this class shall go on to compete for Best of Breed. DOGS COMPETING IN THIS CLASS MAY BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED. Veteran (10+ years)... for any dog, 10 years of age or older on the day of the show. These dogs do not compete for Winners, but the winner of this class shall go on to compete for Best of Breed. DOGS COMPETING IN THIS CLASS MAY BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED. Specials Only... dogs which are registered individually, in the records of the Canadian Kennel Club or have a CKC ERN number and have attained championship status may be entered in the "Specials Only" class. Entry of a dog in "Specials Only" is not prohibited on the grounds that the title of champion has not been confirmed by the CKC, but if it is found later that the dog had not attained championship status before the entry had been made, then all awards attained at the show will be cancelled. The entry of a 'listed' dog in Specials Only is not allowed.

6 NON-REGULAR & UNOFFICIAL CONFORMATION CLASSES Baby Puppy dogs between 3 months and under 6 months on day of show. These puppies are not eligible to compete for championship points Exhibition Only... for all dogs over 6 months of age and eligible for registration with the Canadian Kennel Club Exhibition Only puppies 3-6 months of age may be entered in Exhibition Only (3-6 Months) (3-6 Months) provided the Owner has also entered an eligible dog in a Regular Class. Puppies in this category may enter and compete in Sweepstakes only. TO COMPETE IN ANY SWEEPSTAKES CLASS, DOGS MUST BE ENTERED IN A REGULAR CLASS, OR FOR SPECIALS ONLY. ENTRY IN JUVENILE SWEEPSTAKES FROM THE EXHIBITION ONLY CLASS IS NOT ALLOWED EXCEPT FOR PUPPIES AGED 3-6 MONTHS - THESE PUPPIES MAY ENTER FROM THE BABY PUPPY CLASS, OR FROM THE EXHIBITION ONLY (3-6 MOS.) CLASS. VETERANS MAY BE ENTERED IN A REGULAR SPECIALY CLASS OR FOR EXHIBITION ONLY. JUVENILE SWEEPSTAKES Classes will be divided by sex as follows: 3-6 months 6-9 months 9 12 months months VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES Classes will be divided by sex as follows: 7 10 years 10 years & older All dogs must be entered in the regular classes, Veteran's class, "Specials Only", or for Exhibition Only to compete in the following non-regular classes. Sire & Get Stud dog and two or more of his get, not necessarily owned by the same owner. Dam & Progeny Brood bitch and two of more of her progeny, not necessarily owned by the same owner. Brace Two dogs of one breed (either sex or mixed), not necessarily owned by the same owner. Please note: An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry up to the closing date and time as published in the premium list. This may be done by telephone but written or electronic notification must be received by the Show Secretary before the official date and time of entry closing. If written notification is not received by that time, the dog will remain entered in the show. ERRORS IN ENTRIES: An error in an age-specified class, date of birth or sex, may be amended up to one hour before the start of the show.

7 GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show which will be governed by CKC rules. All rules and regulations, as outlined in the Alberta Kennel Club premium list, will also apply to this specialty. 2. Entries will be acknowledged after entry closing, with receipt, judging schedule and exhibitor passes. If such acknowledgement is not received one week before the show date, please contact the Show Secretary. 3. A judge, club official, volunteer or any participant at an event held under CKC rules shall not be subject to any indignity (CKC dog show rules, 19.7). ATTENTION - ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Effective Jan/1992 all dogs that are foreign-born and foreign-owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an ERN - Event Registration Number. This ERN does not register a dog with CKC for breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables a foreign-owned dog to be awarded titles by the Canadian Kennel Club. Each dog must have its own number. To obtain an ERN, mail or fax a photocopy of the dog's foreign registration certificate with cheque or VISA/MasterCard number (expiry date, cardholder's name and signature). Provide your complete address for return of the ERN to you. Cost is $59.40 plus 5% GST ERN MUST BE APPLIED FOR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF FIRST DAY OF ENTERING A CKC EVENT. A CKC ERN registration form can be downloaded from the CKC website: CKC FAX NUMBER (416) CKC Non-Member Participation Fee a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee is is $59.40 plus 5% GST. b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. c) "these fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by Canadian resident non-ckc members and are not applicable to CKC members" *Please note that the CKC Membership Application and the Non-Member Participation Fee forms are available on the website, under CKC Services and then Forms On-line. If submitting a Membership Application, please ensure that you also complete the Non-Member Participation Fee form so that we are aware of the dogs involved.

THE ALBERTA KENNEL CLUB IS PLEASED TO HOST THE BEST OF THE SPECIALTIES COMPETITION AFTER BEST IN SHOW ON SUNDAY August 6, 2017 All Best in Specialty winners of the associated specialties held in conjunction with the AKC Summer Classic will compete for the title of Best of the Specialties. The name of the competition judge will be announced before judging on August 6, The AKC will award a rosette and prize of $ to the Best of the Specialty Winner This is an unofficial event. There is no need to enter another class or pay an additional fee, the winners as described are automatically eligible to compete.
