1 English Setter Club of New England Annual Awards ELIGIBILITY Owner of dog entered for Award must have paid dues as outlined in the ESCNE constitution. Payment must be postmarked before January 1 st. If postmarked after this date, all wins previous to the postmarked date to be discounted. This covers old members who have not paid by January 1 st and subsequently pay, as well as new members. New member s count wins from date of joining, date to be calculated per postmark as above. Dogs must be entered for specific Award to be eligible for that Award. Use entry blanks provided. Entry must be postmarked by the deadline, Friday April 12, Only licensed AKC show wins to count in tabulation. ALL WINS MUST BE VERIFIED ON THE AKC WEBSITE, Dogs sold mid-year A membership in ESCNE must cover all wins: either buyer or seller. Leased dog: A membership in ESCNE must cover all wins: either lessee or lessor. Co-Owned dogs: Both (or all) owners must be members of ESCNE, as above. ALL AWARDS MUST BE APPLIED FOR, GIVING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: DOG S REGISTERED NAME, DATE, SHOW, LOCATION (STATE) Be sure show information is correct, as it is very difficult, if not impossible, to verify otherwise. IF THIS INFORMATION IS NOT GIVEN, AWARD APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. AWARDS The award year shall begin January 1, 2018 and ends with December 31, All Awards must be applied for in writing, postmarked no later than the date designated by the awards chairperson currently Friday April 12, Applications for awards will be mailed to the general membership at least one month prior to the deadline. The following point system will be used to compute all winners unless otherwise stated. ESCNE POINT SYSTEM BOB..total ES breed entry, minus 1 BOS..total entry of sex opposite to BOB, minus 1 (not total entry, minus 2) BOW ES class entry, minus 1 WB ES bitch class entry, minus 1 WD.. 3 Description of Awards 1. Best of Breed: To the English Setter winning over the greatest number of English Setters as Best of Breed. 2. Best of Opposite Sex: To the English Setter opposite in sex to the Best of Breed, who defeats the greatest number of English Setters, as BOB or BOS. 3 & 4. Breeder of the BOB & BOS: This award is automatic as long as breeder meets eligibility requirements. Breeder need not apply. 5. Winners Dog: To the ES obtaining the most points toward a championship title during the award year, based on the ESCNE POINT SYSTEM. No wins to be counted after the official date of AKC championship. 6. Winner s Bitch: Same as Winner s Dog. 7. Best Puppy: To the ES who, as a puppy (12 months and under) compiles the most points according to the following: 1 pt. for each dog defeated from any class won Specialty Best Puppy.total puppy entry minus 1 (regular classes only, no sweeps) Best of Winners (as a puppy)..total entry, minus 1 Winners (as a puppy).sex entry, minus 1 Reserve Winner (as a puppy) sex entry, minus 2 8. Stud Dog: To the ES dog whose offspring earn the highest number of champion and grand champion points this award year. USE A SEPARATE COPY OF FORM A TO VERIFY WINS OF GET 9. Brood Bitch: Same as Stud Dog. 10. Breeder-Owner: To the ES bred by the owner, winning the most points based on the ESCNE POINT SYSTEM. The owner must be a recorded breeder of the dog. 11. Breeder of the Year: List the ES bred by you and champion and grand champion points won by each. All co-breeders must be members of ESCNE. All wins of dogs bred must be listed and verified by show, date and state of competition. Dogs need not be owned by breeder. 12. New Member Award: To the member whose membership started with the current year and whose entries earned the most champion and/or grand champion points. (Reinstatement not accepted). 13. Highest Scoring English Setter of the Year: To the ES attaining the highest score in any one obedience trial during the award year. Ties decided by the next highest score. List two (2) top scores. 14. Highest Combined Scores Toward a Title: To the ES with the highest combined scores (3), obtaining an obedience title during the award year. 15. Field Trial Award: To the ES who has accumulated the most AKC points toward its Field Trial Championship during the award year. 16. Dr. John Kilgus Memorial Blue Ribbon Field Trial Award: To the ES who has won a first place ribbon on the bench and who has accumulated the most AKC placements in the field during the award year. 17. Junior Showmanship Award: To the Junior Showman who defeats the largest number of Junior Showmanship entries. Honor system, as these class entries are not published. List show, date, number in class, and your class placement. (Must be an ESCNE member) 18. Bench Championship, Grand Championship, Field Title, Obedience Title, Agility Title Award or CGC: Must be applied for. To all ES obtaining a Championship, Obedience, Field, or Agility Title during the award year, you MUST SEND COPY OF CHAMPIONSHIP CERTIFICATE OR TITLE CERTIFICATE.
