Puppy and Veteran Sweepstakes classes will be offered. The Northern California Siberian Husky Club will also be supporting the San Joaquin Kennel Club shows to be held 11/23-11/24/2014 in Stockton. Please remember to join us on Sunday 11/23 for our hospitality potluck following Siberian judging. We will also hold a raffle in conjunction with the potluck. 4 26th Biennial Sanctioned "B" Match By Judy Tamagni Saturday June 28th marked the clubs 26th sanctioned match (24th sanctioned B match). The day started out a bit chilly, but warmed up to a comfortable temperature by the time the match got under way. Best in Match Puppy: Violet Breeder: Randee McQueen & Barbara House; Owners Barbara House & Randee McQueen Best in Match Adult: Huskavarna's Diamond Legacy; Breeder: Glenavon & Paula S. Marcy; Owner: Kellie Holden & Paula Marcy Jessica Tamagni Parks started the day out with a handling clinic for those who wanted a few extra pointers or some ring time for the puppies or just another chance to get in and work with their dog. Next is was show time with Cathy Dugan from Shingle Springs to do the judging. There was a nice entry of????? Siberians which included a lot of adorable, "happy-to-be here" puppies The Judge's selection for Best In Match Puppy was Violet from the 3-6 month puppy class owned by Barbara House and Randee McQueen. Best Opposite Sex in Match was awarded to litter brother Sagee, also owned by Randee McQueen and Barbara House. Best in Match Adult was awarded to Huskavarna's Diamond Legacy from the Open Dog class owned by Kellie Holden and Paula S. Marcy. Best of Opposite Sex Adult in Match went to Whitepeak's Neytiri of Arcticgrace owned by Kathy Myoshi and Kim Thomsen. Complete results posted elsewhere in this newsletter. In addition to the regular entries there were 3 brace entries and 1 team entry -these are always great fun to watch! Randee McQueen was in charge of organizing the raffle which had a great assortment of Siberian related items (even one Giants fedora made it's way into the raffle). A big thank you to all for their help in making this a fun day. From helping set-up, taking everything down, ring stewarding, taking day of match entries, running the raffle, and all the other little things necessary to hold a match, everyone pitched in to make this go smoothly. 8 AWARDS TITLE COMPLETION: Championship CH. Kochevoey s Jet Afterburner Burney had minored out at the Bonanza Kennel Club show in October At the request of NCSHC members we entered him in the benched 2011 Golden Gate show. With his unusual color and markings, he always was a crowd favorite. At the Golden Gate Show Burn was picked as Best of Breed over four GCH specials, giving him a few more minor points. We were ecstatic over this win. Then Burney hurt his shoulder and was on restricted activity for several weeks. His son, Ranger, chewed on his coat and he was completely unshowable. We kept him out of shows for about two years. Discouraged, at that point, we decided that maybe his championship just wasn t meant to be. But we decided we needed a show fix after the unexpected death of Ranger and entered three days of the Harvest Circuit. On Friday he won the Open Class but once again the major points went to another. But at the San Joaquin Siberian supported entry, he won the Open Class both days and was chosen the Winners Dog for back to back 5 and 4 point majors to finish his championship. His championship was truly a group effort with Kelley Leedy, his coowner, putting points on him several times. Lori Chou, Kristina Rickard, Lori Rickard, Joaquin Fernandez all put minor points on him. His back to back majors were with Theresa Royer and Kelly Shane tag teaming him at San Joaquin. If we were ecstatic over the Golden Gate win, we were thrilled to tears by his finishing with such nice wins. Thanks to everyone who helped and gave us encouragement over the years.
