Sponsored by the Lincoln County Farm Bureau and Financial Services, AgLand incorporates hands-on learning activities such as corn grinding, match games, scavenger hunt, and commodity stations. There are also chances to win prizes each day! THE FARMER PHIL SHOW Farmer Phil combines entertainment with ag education in a one-of-a-kind stage show that will delight audience members of all ages. Phil uses magic, juggling, yo-yo tricks, and hilarious comedy to engage the crowd. Viewers gain a new understanding and respect for farmers and the entire agricultural industry. WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS Wildlife Encounters is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the natural world while offering a home for animals in need. 10 NOTICE FOR ALL EXHIBITORS GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR EXHIBITORS All participants in open class must be residents of Lincoln County, except Open to the World classes. LINCOLN COUNTY AG SOCIETY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO OR THEFT OF ANY ITEM/ANIMAL ENTERED FOR EXHIBIT. EXHIBIT ITEMS AT YOUR OWN RISK. All 4-H and Open Class livestock entries (including beef, sheep, swine, dairy, horses, rabbits, dogs and poultry) are due in the Extension Office by 5 p.m. on July 1. Entry sheets are available at the Extension office. All other open class exhibits will be entered between 8 a.m. and 12 noon on Wednesday unless otherwise specified in the premium list. 4-H static entries are to be pre-entered by July 1. EXHIBITS MUST CONFORM TO THE CLASSES IN THE PREMIUM LIST TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PREMIUM MONEY. ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PREMIUM NUMBER PER EXHIBITOR UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. Any 4-H er staying overnight on the grounds during the fair must have a responsible adult in charge. EXHIBIT RELEASE All exhibits except 4-H Livestock Sale animals will be released from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday ONLY. Exhibits removed before the release time will not receive premium money. All 4-H livestock not involved in the 4-H Livestock Sale must be removed from the barns Sunday evening. PREMIUM MONEY will be paid by the Lincoln County Ag Society. Premiums will be held if animal pens are not cleaned at end of fair. Premium monies for open class and 4-H exhibitors will be available to be picked up in cash at the Lincoln County Extension Office from Oct. 1 thru Oct. 31. Any monies not picked up during that time will be forfeited. ALL VEHICLES, INCLUDING CARS, TRUCKS AND PICKUPS: No exhibitors cars or trucks will be allowed in the exhibit area. VEHICLES IN THE AREA WILL BE TOWED OUT.

11 PROTEST COMMITTEE Specific procedures for the 4-H program protest and appeals committee is listed under the 4-H General rules. A. The representative class superintendent has the authority to make appropriate decisions based on the Lincoln County Fair Premium Book and will be respected by all. B. A committee shall be appointed to serve as a protest group. They will meet when needed to act upon concerns. All protests must be submitted in writing and signed. C. The written protest must be submitted to the Lincoln County Ag Society and must include: 1. names of persons involved 2. nature of concerns 3. situation and documentation 4. recommendations for correction 5. specific action, rule, etc., in question 6. additional persons committee may contact for further clarification. 7. procedure and/or steps carried out by person involved prior to submission to the Lincoln County Ag Society. D. The committee will review the written protest. They may discuss the situation with affected persons and show officials to include fair management if appropriate prior to making a final decision. The committee will recommend appropriate action to management in writing. The recommendations will be followed and communicated both verbally and in writing to the group or individual affected. E. The management reserves the right to withhold premium and/or award. The exhibitor may be excluded from the show if action warrants. F. Protests will not be accepted after the exhibit is released from the Fair. G. Protests related to judges integrity, decisions, placings, or other evaluations will not be accepted. Scoring will be based on condition of animal, evidence of training, knowledge of the animal (i.e. feeding, age, breed, training, plans for the calf after the fair, etc.) Scoring will NOT be based on quality of the animal. Bucket calves must be in place by 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. Participation ribbon only.

15 DIVISION 5 - GOATS 108 Goat Showmanship Class for youth less than 8 years of age as of January 1. Participation ribbon. Although an eligible youth may borrow a goat for class 108 and enter the day of the show, participants in class 108 that bring their own goat must preregister by pre fair entry deadline and bring the goat to fair on entry day during announced entry periods. Goats used only for class 108 will be released following the show. Premium: Blue - $4.00 Red - $3.50 White - $2.00 DIVISION 6 - POULTRY All poultry events are canceled this year by order of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, in an effort to prevent the spread of H5N2 avian influenza. DIVISION 7 - RABBITS All open class rabbit entries are due at the Extension Office by 5:00 p.m., July 1st. No late entries will be accepted. Sick or unhealthy animals will not be accepted. Pre-entered animals should be brought to the Rabbit Building between 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Bring your own feeders and waterers. Rabbits will be divided according to breeds as recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association. Limit 2 bucks, 2 does and 1 litter per breed. Crossbred rabbits will be shown according to predominate breed characteristics. If unidentifiable, they will be shown in other breeds class. Premiums all rabbits: Blue - $2.00 Red - $1.75 White - $ Jr. Buck (under 6 months) 102 Intermediate Buck (6-8 months) 103 Sr. Buck (over 8 months) 104 Jr. Doe (under 6 months) 105 Intermediate Doe (6-8 months) 106 Sr. Doe (over 8 months) Best of Show - Rosette 107 Doe with Litter, 3 or more from same doe (litters should be no less than 3 weeks old and no more than 6 weeks old.) DIVISION 8 - OPEN CLASS DOGS AGILITY General Rules Dogs must be 12 months old or older at fair time. All dogs must wear a flat collar; no other type is allowed. Each dog may be exhibited by only one handler in agility competition. Handlers should wear closed toe shoes; tennis shoes are suggested. More than one dog may be entered per exhibitor but they must be in different divisions or height. No baiting, toys or training devices are allowed on the course during competition. Class entry fee will be $5.00 per agility division. All fees are due at pre-fair entry deadline. Fees are non-refundable.

16 Scoring Maximum score is 100 points. Course Time Deductions - 1 point for every second over the course time. Refusing - When a dog puts two feet on an obstacle, it is considered committed. A refusal occurs if a dog fails to continue the obstacle. When the dog stops forward motion, a refusal deduction is scored. Also, if the dog runs past an obstacle or turns back on his path, a refusal is scored. Refusals are scored as 5 point deductions. In/Out of the Pause Box - 2 point deduction for each occurrence. Also anticipating the count - getting up during the count. The count is restarted each time this happens. The handler cannot enter the box and cannot tug or force the dog into position. Wrong Course - Taking an obstacle out of sequence is a 5 point deduction per occurrence. Dog is eliminated after 3 occurrences. Tight Leash or Leash Corrections: -5 if handler or dog knocking down an obstacle or jump -5 if missing a contact zone (two feet on, two feet off) -5 if handler running wrong course -5 in handler touching dog or obstacle -10 for see-saw fly offs DOG AGILITY DIVISIONS: A - 6 inches for dogs up to 12 inches. B - 12 inches for dogs 12 ½ inches up to 18 inches. C - 18 inches for dogs 18 inches and over. (Please enter A, B, or C on entry card after class number) AGILITY CLASSES 101 Level 1: Six obstacles. Course is set in a circle. Dog and handler are in first year of agility. Obstacles will consist of: bar jump, bar jump, dog walk, pause box, open tunnel and bar jump. Course time is 45 seconds. 102 Level 2: Ten obstacles. Dog or handler are beyond first year of agility and have never received a blue in Level 1. Course is set in a key hole pattern. Obstacles will consist of: bar jump, bar jump, open tunnel, dog walk, hoop jump, pause box, collapsed tunnel, solid jump, bar jump and bar jump. Course time is 60 seconds. 103 Level 3: Thirteen obstacles. Dogs shall have received a blue ribbon in Level 2. The course will be more challenging such as a figure 8. Obstacles will be set in any order and can include: six jumps, open tunnel, collapsed tunnel, pause box, weave poles, A-frame, hoop jump, taller dog walk and see saw. Course time is 75 seconds. 104 Level 4: Same as Level 3 but must be run off leash only. Dogs shall have received a blue ribbon in Level 3. Course time is 75 seconds. OBEDIENCE CLASSES This is an unbenched show; the procedure will be consistent with all 4-H rules. The eligibility and entry rules already set up for livestock in the Lincoln County Fair will apply to entries for the Dog Show. All dogs must be in training by the exhibitor by June 15 of the current year. All entries are due in the Lincoln County Extension office by the pre-fair entry deadline. Exhibitor may enter no more than 2 dogs, and only one dog may be entered in any two regulation classes (showmanship and obedience). Exhibitor may enter only 1 non-regulation class (working or agility). The name of the dog must appear on the entry card. Any entry card turned in without the name of the dog will NOT be accepted.

17 PROOF OF VACCINATION All dogs must be immunized for distemper, rabies, and parvo. A copy of the immunization card must accompany entry cards. Individuals who vaccinate their own dogs must be able to show proof of vaccination. It is recommended dogs be vaccinated for kennel cough prior to show. Proof of vaccination will also be required for Cloverkid class. A DOG ENTERED BY AN EXHIBITOR MAY NOT BE ENTERED IN THE SAME CLASS MORE THAN 3 YEARS.
