2 Thursday, June 13, 4-H Bake Sale Sample Prize winning baked goods, made by the 4-H members, during the entry and judging of 4-H exhibits on Thursday, June 13 at the Fairgrounds. Time for the Bake Sale will be from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The public is invited to attend. LIVESTOCK & POULTRY - GENERAL 1. Entry of livestock and poultry exhibits will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, June All livestock exhibitors (including poultry & rabbits) will be required to sign a liability waiver. A parent or legal guardian must also sign the waiver for any youth exhibiting livestock. Livestock pre-registration forms which include the liability waiver are available at the Divide County Extension Service. Forms will also be available during livestock entry on June 14, however, those planning to exhibit livestock, poultry, or rabbits are asked to pre-register if at all possible. 3. All sheep and goat entries must have an official USDA scrapie tag. 4. All poultry must be banded and require Pullorum testing or need to be from a certified NPIP flock/source. 5. Judging will begin at 9 am on June 15 and all exhibitors are asked to be present when their entries are judged. 6. Livestock and poultry will be released on June 15 at 4 pm and need to be removed by 5 pm to facilitate clean-up. 7. Livestock clean-up will be held on June 15 at 5 pm or as soon after 5 pm as possible. All livestock & poultry exhibitors are expected to help with clean-up. 8. Premiums will be available at from 2 to 3 pm on Sunday, June 16. DEPARTMENT A-Cattle CLASS 1: BREEDER PEN 1. Any commercial producer or purebred livestock breeder may enter in the class. 2. The pen will consist of 3 animals, heifers only. No trimming allowed. 3. They will be exhibited and judged in the pen (British, European or British-European cross). 4. The cash premium award will be determined by the ribbon awarded the exhibitor. PREMIUMS 1st: British - $50; European - $50; British-European - $50 2nd: British - $35; European - $35; British-European - $35 3rd: British - $25; European - $25; British-European -$25 4th: British - $15; European - $15; British-European - $15 CLASS 3: COW AND CALF 1. Any commercial producer or purebred livestock breeder may enter in the class. 2. A pair will consist of a cow with calf born on or after Jan 1, Calves may be trimmed, cows shall not be trimmed. 4. Class will be divided into three groups, as follows: PREMIUMS 1st: British - $50; European - $50; Brit-Euro - $50 2nd: British - $35; European - $35; Brit-Euro - $35 3rd: British - $25; European - $25; Brit-Euro - $25 4th: British - $15; European - $15; Brit-Euro - $15 CLASS 3: BEEF 1. May be registered or commercial. 2. Individual animal must be trained to lead. 3. The cash premium award will be determined by the ribbon awarded to the exhibitor. 4. Each entry will receive a ribbon placing of blue, red, or white. Premiums will be $10, $8, and $5, respectively. 1. All sheep & goats to be entered in the 2013 Divide County Fair must have an official USDA scrapie tag or registration tattoo. To obtain a flock identification number, tags and tagging supplies, and recordkeeping requirements, contact the ND USDA Veterinary Services office at Individual animal should be shown. 4. See Livestock & Poultry General for times and other requirements. 5. Each entry will receive a ribbon placing of blue, red, or white. Premiums will be $10, $8, and $5, respectively. 30. Ram, one year and over. 31. Ewe, one year and over. 32. Ram lamb, under one year. 33. Ewe lamb, under one year. 35. Market lamb, whether or ewe, 100 pounds and over. 36. Feeder lamb, whether or ewe, under 100 pounds. DEPARTMENT C - Swine CLASS Any breed or cross breed. 2. Individual animal should be shown. 3. See Livestock & Poultry General for times and other requirements. 4. Each entry will receive a ribbon placing of blue, red, or white. Premiums will be $10, $8, and $5, respectively. 40. Sow over one year. 41. Gilt under one year. 45. Market hog-gilt or barrow 220 lbs and over. 50. Feeder pig-gilt or barrow lbs. DEPARTMENT D - Poultry CLASS 13 - POULTRY 1. Birds will be shown in five different classes; cock, cockerel, hen, pullet, and pens. 2. Birds entered as singles cannot compete in pens. 3. Name breed of chickens, turkeys, geese or ducks on entry tag. 4. Pen shall consist of 3 birds, 2 being female and one being a male bird. 5. Limit of three entries in class and one entry per lot. 6. Each entry will receive a ribbon placing of blue, red, or white. Premiums will be $3, $2, and $1, respectively, with a $10 premium for the overall champion. 7. Exhibitors should be present during judging. 8. See Item 2 under Livestock & Poultry - General. Entry will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, June See Item 4 under Livestock & Poultry - General. All birds (poultry) to be entered in the 2013 Divide County Fair must be banded to signify that they have tested negative for Pullorum or that they are from a certified NPIP flock/source. Any birds brought in for entry also need to be accompanied by either a copy of the NPIP certificate for the flock, copies of test results from a certified testing agents on individual birds tested for exhibition, or a fully completed Poultry Exhibition Statement of Origin. Birds not meeting these requirements will not be entered and must be removed from the fairgrounds. 10. See Items 5 and 6 under Livestock & Poultry- General. Poultry exhibitors are expected to clean their cages and pans under cages following the release of the poultry exhibits on Saturday, June 15.

All exhibits entered in Department E must have been grown or produced by the person exhibiting, and must have be grown in Divide County, EXCEPT the Artistic Arrangements which is open to anyone. 4. All exhibits must be entered from 10 am to noon on Thursday, June Exhibitors are asked to please make and attach an entry tag to each exhibit prior to entry to reduce registration time. Entry tags can be made by copying the sample entry tag that follows or can be obtained at the Divide County Extension Office. 3. Divide County Residents and those involved with Divide County Organizations are welcome to participate. Exhibits must have been completed since the 2012 fair. 4. Only articles of merit will receive premiums. 5. Baked goods must not be warm or frozen when entered. 6. Each exhibitor will be allowed only one entry per lot.

7 7. Every reasonable precaution is taken to safeguard entries. The fair, however, will not be responsible for damage or loss. 8. Exhibitor wishing to offer entry for sale may attach price. The fair, however, assumes no responsibility except to give prospective buyers the chance to contact exhibitor. 9. It is suggested that baked products such as cookies, doughnuts, and candy be placed on a sturdy paper plate covered with clear, re-closeable plastic bag. Yeast breads and pies should be in a re-closeable plastic bag also. Do not seal securely so that your product may be easily opened for judging. 10. No commercial cake mixes, cookie mixes, or any other commercial mixes are allowed. 11. All home canned items must be labeled with 1) method of packing. 2) method of processing, and 3) time processed. Also paraffin will not be accepted as a method of sealing jellies, jams, etc. For additional information contact the Extension Office at Please, no perishable items that require refrigeration example: cream pies and freezer jams. 13. You can protect articles with plastic bags. 14. Exhibits may not be removed until 2 pm the last day of the fair, June 16, and should be removed by 3 pm.
